Glad to see DeBeer get a chance to play the role she was 'meant' to play, before her injury, and then before Chaussee stole the show. Louisville looks pretty damn good. Cresse is a solid addition, potentially a game-changer. Luper reminds me of myself as a player/hitter... undersized, but can jump and hit the piss out of the ball. No wonder coach wants her to just take her rips. I'd say it's a toss-up between Louisville, Wisconsin, and even Nebraska for top 3 in the nation, with Florida, Texas, Oregon, and Stanford having potential to challenge. Very exciting season.
@@ajollypanda4175 Yup. She (Luper) gets up. If she were just 3 or 4 inches taller, she'd be National Team material. She has all the attributes of a De Falco, just a few inches undersized, but still deadly and lethal, who knows, maybe even at the international level. Go Luper~!
@@zackd2852 You would, haha. I just watched a vid showing all of Hooker's 34 kills against Penn State in the 2009 NCAA championship match. So, she's very effective at finding the open court, yes. But she does NOT jump or pound the ball like the men do. She reaches high and places the ball. Luper, on the other hand, FLIES in at the ball with tremendous momentum and hang-time, which she uses to generate more power -- very different hitting styles. Like I said, if Luper were 6'3" like Hooker, she'd blow Hooker away. She'd hit like the men do. But at 5'10" (a full 6 inches shorter than Hooker), of course Hooker will be the more effective player, but not the more athletic/explosive/impressive player.

Their home court is under 1000--ahem, most volleyball facilities are way bigger than that by multiples and for programs that can't even tie the shoestrings of Louisville--that just throw out 6 warm bodies. DBK is doing something special there due in part to her Husker roots. They need to upgrade that facility soon. And, yes, I realize that they sometimes play at the chicken house.
@@danrose3233 I am a collegiate volleyball official. I've been officiating all divisions and affiliations for 20 years. Most collegiate volleyball gyms are very small for the reason I stated.
@@danrose3233they play their big games in the YUM. They filled it up with over 12,000. If Louisvilles dominance continues, they’ll probably start hosting their games in there.
@@danrose3233Louisville is a freshly big program, a few years back that arena was half empty. Plus Louisville is not as big as other schools like Texas, Neb, Florida. But they have been playing in the Yum often
