This is beautiful, i love the ambience BUT, without disrespect, I feel a little bit uncomfortable seeing white ppl singing this song. Sorry, but I must say it. No offense, the performance is awesome but we all know what this song means 🙏🏾
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and being honest about your feelings. 😀 Our choir is based in Europe (France), but we understand that this song is deeply rooted in the African American experience and history. Our intention in performing it is to pay tribute to its very powerful message of hope, freedom, and resilience, and possibly contribute to a broader appreciation of its historical and cultural significance. Music, especially Gospel music, has a way of touching the hearts of people from all around the word. 🥰 We trully think Gospel music can transcend cultural boundaries and we are committed to celebrating its beauty while being mindful of its origins and significance. Cultural appreciation and interpretation can be a complex topic, but we hope you can continue to enjoy and appreciate our future performances, even if the interpretation may differ from the original context. 🙏
