These dogs are so smart. Mine knows to do things like to wait for me just by making certain noises with my mouth or with small gestures. Just picked it up by going outside or other daily things.
They really are. I’ll say “truck ride” and he’ll go out and sit by the passenger door, didn’t even teach him to do it, he just caught on and loves the truck so much
@@SuperNinjaBurger lol! He must really like that truck!
i love aussies there my fav under french bull dogs aussies are on my 2d
They're pretty smart, smarter than most dogs bred to be pets. They aren't up there with Border Collies or German Shepherds though. I had an 8 week old Border Collie that I had to return because my Aussie wouldn't tolerate him. Holly cow that puppy learned quick and stayed focused, much sharper than my Aussie. I going to set up my house with a dog run so I can keep two dogs separated and try a Border Collie again.
@@jeffk464maybe just hire someone to introduce them instead of making a puppy confused
This breed is unbelievably smart!!!
Your dog is so smart
You can’t tell it’s smart by this video, my bull terrier is thick as fuck but if I make a noise it looks at me funnily enough
At 12 weeks old I taught my boy all of the standard commands in one round, after teaching him to focus with a clicking sound. That only took about 3 times. Then, I taught him all of his basic commands by hand signals alone within a few minutes, after he learned his basic commands verbally. Now he learns everything since he learned his basic commands after being shown only once. Aussies are literally the geniuses of the dog world. They love to learn. In fact, they learn constantly. They're a little bit scary that way. They figure you out really quickly & really easily the longer they live with you. It's a little like living with a person in a dog suit.
Working breeds are a joy to watch
They are, you have to remember they are a handful though. Make sure you can devote the time to them before you get a working breed.
This is so cool to watch him learn that quick
Imma start some of this tommorow.. my Aussie is always distracted..
This is a great video hoping it will help me with my little Rocco
You can forget the noise and go straight to the word - he gets it and you can tell 😊
His little bounce is so cute!
This just shows how smart these working breeds are.
It's the visual stimulation after the first audible stim with a second audible stim combined with the previous mentioned visual stim that really grabs that dogs focus. Very expert level training and now I understand how to look for that focus grab and train accordingly with the audible and visual stim patterns followed by rewarding a training treat of some sort to give what I assume as a dopamine response? Great job🎉❤
I was watching this video and my dog started looking at it too every time he makes a funny sound!😅
This will help me because I am going to get a Australian shepherd in May 20th
How is it going with the pup? Just got my mini red merle aussiecollie and Im in love
I'm getting a red Merle may 27th I'm so excited
@@crazlen awee that makes me so happy I never had an aussie before. I am getting into sheep and wanna know how to train her
Did you get one?
The dog is soo crazy beautiful omg.
Awesome ❤️
I have 2 Aussies 😍 l
I use yes, my new pup is picking up fast from her older sibling
I love this idea
Your videos are of big help.
Thanks alot.
Just learning here, why do you touch your forehead before delivering a treat
Great training video. How long should we have the focus session?
You’re awesome man
At what age would you recommend starting to teach this?
As early as possible
Which lifejacket do you prefer/recommend for my 70lb australian shepard?
I taught this exactly command by total accident. While trying to teach my pup fetch, I began snapping my fingers and saying “Focus” and he’s learned that when I do this it means “alright all eyes on mom we’re about to do something” and he picked it up without me even trying to teach it. Now I can snap and point and say “over there” and he moves out of the way, he’s smart AF
Thank you for the tip will this work on a blue heeler I assume it would sense they are both intelligent dogs
Quick question, is there a point to putting a word to the command outside of just the sound aside from being able to asign a wider variety commands that way?
What’s the hand on your forehead about ?
to get the dog to focus on his face.
My border collie/cirneco mix is insanely smart as well. She picked up words without me teaching her, like when I say car (in my language) she immediately knows it's time for a ride.
Only downside, she still urinate herself when she gets too excited and I get too close to her. This limits our relationship a lot.
Any tips?
Where are you located I need to send my MÁS to a trainer
I have a Aussie she’s a tri and only a year I did minimum training and my dog listens too me anywhere I go no running off nothing with lil too no training just from me being sturn and sticking too commands.
Why do you bring your hand to face, to focus the dog further on you?
I picked up this from bootcamp the di would say eyeballs! And everyone responds click sir. Now I say eyeballs and my dog looks at me and barks
What is that clicking noise when giving the command
It’s called a clicker
What city do you guys live in?
Hey does anybody else's Australian Shepherd seem to walk between their legs like when you're walking if they're walking with you do they like do that as a whole breed or is it just mine because I'll be standing at the sink doing dishes and he prefers to just sit in between my legs or just stand under there like he will nudge my legs open and just sit there he'll even go to the floor and take a nap right there. Or like if I'm walking he will literally come up behind me and walk between my legs as I'm walking like he will step in sync with me it is crazy I love it but I was just wondering if do all of them do that or is just mine Goofy? 🤪
No mine does the same thing
Aussies are described as velcro dog meaning they love to be very attached and physically close to their humans lol
Mine does that too, he also touches the back of my legs with his wet nose.
Mine doesn't do that, but I risk stepping on him while I'm cooking. A velcro dog for sure, and quite vocal
Mine lays on my feet while I do dishes..
Why do you put your hand up to your head before you reward?
Why does he bring the treat to his head before giving it to the dog?
I know a lot of people might say these dogs are smart but I can’t find any help with my dog being extremely over hyper active and when I say that it’s an understatement to not having the right word the explain how hyper she is. I’m not sure what to do but my parents are wanting to get rid of her bc of it and it’s making me sad
Wait till he sees how doors open. 😅
Why do you raise your hand to your face? What does this mean?
Why bring the treat to your face before giving it since he already looked? Reinforcing looking you in the eyes?
I have the same question.
Why do you touch your face before giving the treat?!
I think its to make sure the dog knows the treats are coming from him and not the pouch. I've been doing so much reading lol in line to get one in july❤
@@kingheavengames1576I wondered if it was to have the dog think he was eating some first so the dog gets some second, that way the dog knows its place.
he was well trained
Maybe trainer has Tourette's
When do you remove the food?
@@brucedaboss3132 got it, saw the great job you do with Cane Corsos, greetings from Italy and from Rambo the corso ✋
@@catalink9 ???
Isn’t that Paris?
If you want focus get a Border Collie instead. Aussies are a lot more stubborn and easily distracted.
In the hopes of teaching Focus, I made kissey faces at my goldfish…..nothin’ 😔
why do you bring your hand to your face?
Seems like he respects you for your treats not for you
Why do you touch your forehead every time?
I noticed you tap your forehead why do you do that?
to get the focus on the head/eye line
Someone who can’t train a dog without causing pain should not train a dog at all. If you can’t use other training methods successfully you shouldn’t be allowed to use training methods that cause pain because you are not able to use them properly. Your dog should not pay for your weakness.
Prong and shock collars are banned here and in several other countries. I’m very happy and thankful about it.
My Aussie learned new things equally as well without the stupid sounds and clicker, could never be one of these guys walking around with that clicker
