Very strange performance from MVG. The other day when he played Bunting he looked more focussed and determined than I've seen for a very long time. Tonight he looked tired and almost like he couldn't really be bothered at times. Weird.

When opponents put MvG under pressure, since 2-3 years, he shit his pants and cant produce good darts. Without pressure he often checks 101-130 shots easy when his opponent is on 2xx, but when it is for the set and the opponent is waiting on a double he fails! He is not consistent anymore, his game and season is like a rollercoaster!

Mvg really got what he deserved tonight all his pre match talk of him being the “one to beat” and players “fear” him really got quite tiresome. Aside from that I was shocked when Anderson got put out on Saturday but I really didn’t see Mvg doing the exact same and just going completely off the boil after them both looking so strong
He played sublime last year until 3-2 in sets and 2-0 legs ahead of Smith, then Smith threw a 130 finish if I remember correctly, and all of a sudden Mvg level completely dropped. It is obviously a mental problem. Do not forget that recent world champions all struggle at the WC ansd often lose before the quarters. Modern darts is just so high pressure because the level of skill is just so high. Williams is 52 (before the start of the WC) in the world and he has multiple sets averaging well over 100. @@Josh_J91

Yes you have 4 different time zones. Eastern standard is 5 hours behind. Central standard is 6 hours. Mountain standard is 7 hours and pacific standard 8 hours.

I think what'll hurt MVG more is that even losing out on the Quarters, it won't put him in 1st on the order of merit. Imagine that, the defending champion got knocked down a few stages ago and you can't even go out as high as the semis. MVG has proven that no matter how high his average or how good he'll look, he has his own way of tripping his own game. He should've had it with Williams but just couldn't hold it together. He'll be back to 3rd.

Mvg never turned up tonight. Never seen him miss so many doubles and in patches threw very low averages. But he also had no effect on Williams with his usual antics. Chisnall has had some luck with the draw and expected Humphries to win even though he hasn't been at his best. Think he wins it if he turns up for the semi and the final but as we've seen anyone of these 4 could win it. Come on the darts!
