I was born in 1939 so was a teen in the 50's It was a magical time. The best decade ever for sure! Wish I could go back and do it again. No cell phones no internet. Free as the breeze and fun every day! Sorry for the youth of today that you missed it.
Great music! God bless. Can you please check out my music. I wrote a song in dedication to my wife's mom Linda who passed away. th-cam.com/video/JSbGGiSe3S8/w-d-xo.html I put my heart and soul in this song and dedicate it to everyone who lost a loved one.
OMG! I wish I was born around the 40's and have lived the 50's, 60's and 70's. Those must have been really good times for one to live the childhood and youth years. I just really lived from the 80's on, as I was born in the late 70's, and I really feel that by the end of the century, things became too cold, sterile and empty. I love the 20th century culture. If there is a way to be born again, I want always to come back to the 20th century.
Yea all that racism and sexism was great! I honestly just wish I was born back then too, so I could go work in a factory when I was 12! These comfortable lives we have now suuuuuuuuck.
Well, about racism and sexism, I really couldn't even say I miss any of them because we still have both here today (and don't tell me it was worse back then because almost 80 years later I really expected that humanity wouldn't even know what these two words mean and that's not the case, as we see every day). And my parents were born around the 40's and none had worked in a factory when they were 12, so I don't think it was compulsory for every poor family. And about our 'comfortable lives', talk for yourself, because I wake up early to take public transport and work hard everyday, just like my parents did 50 years ago. Internet and cable tv don't make me feel more comfortable and neither does it the pizza delivery when I would rather go out and walk around with my friends (as my parents usually say they used to do on the weekends), but I have to avoid it because I can be killed or raped if I don't get home before 9:00 pm in our city.
Well it WAS worse back then. No, the words "racism" and "sexism" shouldn't mean anything today outside a history book, and they do, so there is that, but back then you had state-mandated segregation. Violent crime is way down from the 50s and 60s, so if you are in danger of being raped or murdered walking around today (and that risk does still exist) you would have had to be very brave or very foolish to try it back then. Internet might not make your life more comfortable (but it does), but how about central heating and air conditioning? And not having to life in constant fear of nuclear war with a country that could actually take us out? And don't forget the polio! I love a lot of this music too, and I grew up watching _Happy Days_ , but the truth of the matter is that things ARE better today. Not everything, and not perfectly better, but today is a safer, healthier, more egalitarian time than the good ol' days. Just be sure that, if your ARE reincarnated in those olden days, that you come back white, male, and heterosexual.

Even though we are young, our favorite songs to sing in choir are these golden hits. "hip hop" can't even hold a candle to these when it comes to timeless music. Thanks for posting!
Appreciate the era you were born in, because people will one day find this era to be nostalgic and so will you guys because it was your child hood, so like it or not, you have to stop living in the past, appreciate your generation, and look forward to the future.

Guys, you can't imagine what it was to live in the 50's and 60's they were the greatest moments of my life. Sigh! In truth, I wished time had stood still. Reminiscing those past years, the friends, dancing, falling in and out of love etc. Gosh, never could one in modern times ever experience what we experienced. Eat your hearts out, guys. Robert
These are great videos that were not available at the time, and which brought back so many great memories. I was blessed to have been a teenager in the 50's which was the most fun time for any teenage generation ever. All of these artists played a role in our young romantic and fun filled lives at the time, never to be forgotten. A time when kids actually touched each other when dancing. This time period is lost for the ages with only the memories for those who were around to enjoy always!
THE ERA OF THE 50'S AND THE 60'S WILL BE THE YEARS OF TRUE FREE LIVING AND HAPPINESS OF THE GENERATION THAT FUTURE GENERATIONS WILL ALWAYS SEARCH IN ALL THE RECORDS OF HUMANITY ON EARTH. WE ARE WHAT THE CHILDREN OF GOD WERE CREATED FOR. LOVE.
Everly brothers have been my favorite for over 7 months. I love the blend of harmonies and their songs. All I Have to do is Dream is definitely my favorite, so it was perfect to add it. FOREVERLY 🙏
you are far smarter than the people around you. You know what great music sounds like. Don't listen to them ignore them. I even like music that I have heard before I was born. It is fantastic and superior quality and feelings are there as they should be. Tell your friends to piss off. Keep listening to the great ones.....
