Bishop Scharfenburger’s homily was excellent. Kindly, brotherly , reminding all of the kindness of Christ. He died for forgiveness of our sins. We all are somewhat of being sinners. The Bishop spoke on how The Blessed Mother points the way to Her son. Beautiful. I am sure & expect former Bishop, Mr Hubbard, would have felt truly regretful as the others across the country and the world . Horrific things have happened off and on over the many years of our Catholic Church. That being said, then Christ intervenes, steers our ship gets back on course. Praise be the Lord. Also prayers for all who have suffered through those stormy days. 🙏🏼✝️♥️
"Somewhat"? We're born with original sin. I don't think there's a grey area there. As for Hubbard, he'll have to answer for it. There was zero regret on his part. He did things in the name of Christ, but nothing about him was Christlike. He covered for sexual predators. Period.
How ironic that the second reading is one often used for weddings... since Howard got married (illegally) just before his death. Did his "wife" get to participate in the funeral services for this "man of God?"
Former Bishop Hubbard was loved by many in the Albany Diocese. He established relations with other Christian church in dialogue as well as the Jewish Community in faith sharing. He established Hope House. He created a Deaf Ministry, and other achievements. It is sad he and other Bishops across our country made poor decisions regarding child abuse. 😢❤ May God have mercy on his soul. ✝️🙏🏼
The Catholic Church has proven over and over again how corrupt and perverted it truly is. He was directly involved with corruption, and then played dumb when questioned. He will have to now answer for his misgivings. Pray for the victims.
