Travel Alone In Taiwan | A Free Therapy in Rain

I traveled back to Taiwan for the first time after living alone in Los Angeles for a year. And this time, I really want to explore Taiwan by myself. Despite growing up here, there are many places I want to go again and appreciate it with a different mindset. And Jiufen is the place I wanted to explore the most. The mesmerizing night view with the glowing lanterns make Jiufen unique for solo travel. I do not have a plan, and I don’t want one. I think just simply sitting there at night and watching the night view would make a great trip. I think the best part of this trip is the unexpected heavy rain. Originally I thought it might be inconvenient. However, I think my trip will not be the same without it.

jiufen is so pretty wahhhh. oh gosh i'd love to travel around on my own, I feel like I've grown too dependent on other people, which isn't a bad thing!! but reminding myself that I can do things on my own or that everything won't collapse if i'm responsible for myself for once would give me more confidence to do the things I rlly want to yk.

Taiwan has been creeping up in the top 10 countries I want to visit and this made me want to go so much more. I loved this and almost want to see this place in the rain IRL too 😍 it was beautiful. When’s the best time to visit where it isn’t too crowded like you had?

I went to Jiufen Old Street at around 3 pm. Since most shops close around 6 or 7 pm there. If you stay a bit longer like I did, you will start seeing empty streets after 6:30 pm.
