Wife’s new car! 2024 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium AWD

- We were fortunate enough to get my wife a new vehicle! We traded in her vehicle and picked up the new hotness!
2024 Mazda CX-90 Turbo S Premium AWD! There is so much tech in here from 3 outside cameras for full visibility on the surrounding areas, sensors for traffic, touch screen display (apple car play mode only), rear seat safety detection, key fob automatic driver presets, facial recognition driver settings, heated seats and steering wheel, and the list goes on! Mazda CX-90 is very luxurious inside, compared to our previous cx-5. The turbo is super smooth and has a lot more power than we expected.
This is a beautiful car and we are blessed and very excited to make more memories in this one as we did our last Mazda CX-5!
Literally the nicest cars from Japan.. Mazdas are just expertly crafted and best of all.. they’re an independent brand!
I love my new Mazda3 hatch even, it's much more premium and silent and well crafted than I expected, the fit and finish is exquisite. Mazda does premium quite well.

This is the thing with this vehicle: It demands your attention. It has a presence that the competition just doesn’t possess.
I would buy this vehicle with all its imperfections ahead of the competition because it is the one that looks special!

You can disable the non-touch screen function for everything. you need to disable it. Its deep down in the menu setting

Great review of all the features while waiting for our PHEV model. Thanks. Touchscreen I think is overrated. Don't change what ain't broke. Here in Canada over time the touchscreen will die and then it's expensive to replace and fix. I like the dial control and it's more precise than fiddling with a touch screen while driving.

Finally, not a diesel. Everyone is pissing themselves over diesel, and I was waiting for the proper petrol version, thank you for sharing :)
We really do love it. We also had the new cx-9 as a loaner car and it was significantly smaller, louder road noise, jerky pedal response etc. my wife will do a review soon.

There is a way to put the android auto/apple car play intouch screen at all speeds:
1. Click the home button
2. Go to settings
3. Go to connectivity settings
4. Select Bluetooth/phone connectivity settings
5. Scroll down and select your phone (an example would
be Lily's Galaxy Z fold 4 or Bob's iPhone 14)
6. Scroll all the way down until you see "Touchscreen in motion for all devices" and click it.
Now you can use touchscreen in android Auto or Apple car play at any speed, but not for the original Mazda infotainment. Its only for Apple car play and Andriod Auto. Hope this helps!

The only thing I would have spec'd differently is the interior. But im sure with young kids the black is probably a better fit for you all.
mazda Turbo S is the best value for money. If you want cool Driver Personolisation, Artisian Red, Napa Leather and 360 camera pay 4700 more to get Premium. If you want Tan Nappa Leather and Ventilated seats pay 3500 more for Turbo S Premium Plus. note: Only Turbo S vairants has True Lane Centering, this was why i did not choose PHEV or Normal Turbo
I went to a Mazda dealership yesterday and they had a 5k markup on the turbo premium. The highest trim for turbo. Then I asked for the PHEV highest trim and they had a 10k markup. About 70k. I walked out. I told them that I could get a sequoia for 70k
@Joalse I don't blame you . I avoided markups when I bought my mazdas.
I think the jet black is the best color for this car

Do you find the ride too stiff? Steering too heavy? Nice SUV!
It’s actually really smooth. Coming from the 2017 cx-5, that was stiffer. This glides pretty well. Shifting is fast and smooth with great power. Steering is very responsive, does feel weighted but not heavy.

Steering is too stiff and ride is too harsh go for the Ford Expedition or explorer

Nice choice mate! I don't see many of these on the road yet, but I hope they sell well.
We love it! There are a few things I dislike, but we want to do another video to tell about them etc.
I love this vehicle, but they forgot something very important for taller people: thigh extension. Ask anyone over 6’ about this on a 6+ hour road trip, it alleviates lower back pain and pressure. I’m shocked Mazda didn’t add it on the higher trim levels.

I think with our added tint match and rack, taxes etc was like 64. And ins is cheap for us haha

Yea we have no idea! We LOVE the complete painted version.

They are similar, but very different at the same time. BUT it is a Mazda lineup so.
I am not really crazy with the infotainment system. I want that inline Six 340 horsepower in a base trim. I don’t want to spend $62 thousand dollars on the turbo S trim.

We did. But I’d have to drive them both a little further and faster to compare.
They gave me a 5k markup for the highest turbo trim and a 10k markup for the highest phev. About 70k. I walked out. I told them that I could get a sequoia for 70k.
I’m not desperate enough to pay markups. I’ll try Toyota and checkout the prices for the Grand Highlander
Sorry the dealer marked stuff up. We did experience this at one location and we walked as well. BUT Mazda of Everett was amazing

Yep, not all the dealer are marking them up yet...we got ours below MSRP for Turbo S Prep Plus trim

After longer trips do you find the seats are too firm as some are saying?
It’s brand new, and only have about 100 miles on it for trips, BUT they are firm. So I am hoping it’s like a motorcycle seat and breaks in after about 1k or so

At that price range no ambient lighting and lots of road noise! Not for everyone.
Definitely not a lot of road noise, and has great lighting when doors are opened. It has the under door leds.
Road noise is way better than in grand highlander

Okay, some of this tech is old and outdated but “new” for Mazda. 🤦🏼♂️ It's okay and nothing special like the commercial portrayed. I wouldn't buy one, as Mazda doesn't have a track record of reliability.
Idk what Mazdas you’re buying, but they are legit. And old tech or not, still lots of tech. Appreciate you stopping by
Mazda has a great track record of reliability. The most reliable cars I have had so far (2006 Mazda 6 is still running like new after 90k miles)
This is the biggest advantage of Mazda over BMW for me. BMWs are amazing when under warranty but most people get rid off them within 3-4 first years (unless you plan on your own wrenching)

Sorry, don’t like it at all. Looks like a minivan from early 2000s. I like their other vehicle designs, but this is a huge backtrack for them.

@@BobberandReel Sorry, that was rather rude of me. It’s surely a nice vehicle, just not my taste in terms of the exterior aesthetics. What matters most is that owners enjoy looking at and driving their own vehicles. Those of us that are fortunate enough to have vehicles that we enjoy.
