tbh i like the chinese version better, her voice in chinese suits the soothing rhythm more. and yes her pronunciation is crazy good! and based on her performance in chinese talk shows, she really is that good, rather than just reading off the script.

YY Tioe Yoona firsthand learnt Chinese by working in China on a drama and other schedules, her co-actors helped her as well as other staff and teachers. She can carry a conversation in Chinese (not sure if that's Cantonese or Mandarin) and she has been praised by other Chinese people on her pronunciation before, but she worked hard to get to the level she's at. Of course she still can improve, but for her occupation and the fact that she is super busy she has done well.

And China is such a big country, southern, northern and western Chinese have very different accents because there are unaccountable dialects in China. Therefore, accent is acceptable and has not much influences.

I did, of course. ^^ but this takes the cakes. She really took what she's doing seriously. And that's what makes me proud more. She didn't just, let's release a Chinese song, and pronounced badly. But she took the time and efforts to improve her pronunciations and voila! Love it!

I love this song in both versions, but chinese one looks more softer than korean 🤔 I mean, chinese may not be my second language though I can understand cantonese because most of my family speak this dialect. *It took SM 10 years to finally figure out Yoona's tessitura.* I've always known Yoona is a natural alto, if not, a mezzo soprano at the very least. While she is capable of reaching high notes, she becomes unstable and resorts to her nasal voice most of the time. But this? Wow. It's just super chill. No straining. Just relaxed chest voice/mix register and that's obviously what she's most comfortable with. I loved Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway and her Chinese mini album, but this, by far, is what really showcases Yoong's vocal ability in my opinion.
(Sidenote: for some absurd reason, this Chinese version sounds 100x pleasing to my ears than the Korean version. Maybe because Chinese flows? Idk. I'm weird. Bye.)
Soojung's RBF saved kpop and I love the fact that her being alto is sooo perfect. She somewhat have similarities with taeyeon in that area. I mean I'm hoping they got some duet with a ballad and I swear its going to be a lit. S N S D Yes, she should really stick with this vocal range and leave the higher notes for the other girls. I'm really hoping SM will let her sing in this vocal range in the next SNSD album. Her case is quite similar with EXID's Hani actually. She was forced to sing in a range that she wasn't comfortable singing in, thus people labeling her that she can't sing. When she was finally allowed to sing in her normal range, people were mind-blown by her timbre and she shut her haters right up. Now no one says she can't sing. Lol. I'm really hoping that's what happens with Yoona as well.

Yoona is a light lyric soprano, though? Her timbre is too light and carries little weight to be an alto, or mezzo. She hasn't properly developed her voice, which is why she struggles in keeping her vocal chords strong enough to reach into the fifth octave.

Yoona's singing has improved so much from when she first debuted in SNSD. She's not Taeyeon, but they choose songs that fit her voice and this is a very nice song and mv (and I actually like the Chinese version better than the Korean)
