I like my shotguns but “The Ultimate Prep” is questionable. No doubt very useful and versatile. Can use the same shotgun for home defense, predator control, hunting large and small game and birds, and range time. I hate to say though they lack concealability, where a 357 Magnum or 44 Magnum Revolver can to some extent do most of those minus being practical for taking birds, but also be concealable. Yes large revolvers are more difficult to conceal than subcompact auto loaders but show me a Remington 870 IWB holster. The 870 is the ultimate truck gun though, or the ultimate ranch gun. Not really lot of folks have BIG land and need rifles but for us on small patches we can in theory do a lot with an 870. Barrel swap on 870 makes it so you can buy a couple spare barrels so you can have a 18.5” Barrel and a 20-28” smooth bore barrel and if you want a rifled slug barrel but I think most people who buy a slug barrel have them pinned in place for more consistent shot placement.
Thanks for telling me about the nightstick forend light. I've been looking for a shotgun laser and that looks like a great option.
Shotgun people are sick of being pissed at by people who think the AR is the only legit tool on the planet. We all own AR's also; we just know they aren't the only game in town.
I think a lot of gun guys are vets, and they are just used to ARs and don’t want to admit that in civilian life they might need to learn a new skill.
Never met a Marine who dissed a shotgun, especially not somebody who was trained for it
@@bluestatepaine im a vet and im tired of ARs, the military issued m4s were constantly having feeding problems and would jam unless you cleaned them to death. Civilian ARs dont have this problem with upgraded internals but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I own six shotguns and zero ARs
It’s not outdated, it’s timeless!!!!
It looks a great ... it all comes back around
Your wall is awesome. Most big youtubers have a nice organized wall which also looks nice, but man I get major mountain man vibes here with all that leather and hatchets.
I've never been a fan of perfectly placed items on a wall. I have too many for that lol
Pump musket is a must have IMO. I have never had 1 fail with 1ks of rounds through them. Love my 500OG.
Pump musket is the coolest name I’ve heard for a shotgun.
Well, pump blunderbuss is probably more accurate but I like pump musket, too! 😉
Pump musket 😆😆😆 so stealing that
Pump musket fuck yeah
"Pump musket" 😂 I love it and won't forget it 😊
don’t much care for taking the wood off but that’s just me, stay safe and stay prayed up God bless you
I keep my maverick 88 by my bedside. Love these videos
Thank you
That top shotgun with the bayonet is sick I want one asap
I bought a nightstick for my shockwave. I liked it so much that i fit one to every shotgun we own.
Nice
Have one on my tactical shotgun with pistol grip and breacher choke tube
I have the Mossberg 590A1. Beautiful and effective weapon. Not sure I want to add too much but I def need a light.
Get The STREAM LIGHT
TL-RACKER, It Has 1000
Lueams Of Light...
@@jeffadams9807 yeah it’s really expensive but worth it for a really sleek set-up.
If you can afford an A1 model then there’s no reason not to get a premium light, too
I am not sure any shotgun get outdated. I have a few and some of my favorites are my older mossburg 500's. I am not a tactical shotgunner anyway and will grab an o/U just about every time I go to the range or go afield. I did have one tactical shotgun with the light mounts, saddles, and all the rest and I grew tired of it quickly. In the end all the mods ended up in a box where they have been ever since. The shotgun itself is still in service
The 590 is a different beast. All my 12 gauge are 590
I like the wood furniture just never got any for my590
Rem 870..mag pul sga..jumbo safety... wilderness/vang Velcro sidesaddle cards simple sling and surefire light is my go to. Plus a vang barrel.
I really wanna be friends with anybody that has a room like this when shtf
Get prepared… not everyone will be giving handouts.
I missed this one. Shotguns are my favorite tool, I have been rebuilding and consolidating some of the fleet lately.
Here in England my mate has mossberg 590a1 he put 3 laser pointers on barrel so it looks like predator 😂 he adjusts them for different ranges so impact of shot shud be within triangulation of the 3 red dots. Love ur video mate respect from England 🇬🇧🌱🌲
I can cram 9, 2 3/4 shells in 88 security version of Maverick.
Also shorter stock works well in winter with your heavy coat ... duck hunting taught me that.
Used the ol 870 during my 20+ years, but In reality I'd love to have the new Beretta's! Just need to win the lottery to afford one. My go to right now is a norinco 97 riot model. God bless n stay safe.
Love the back drop!
Man I so enjoyed your video. I am a tactical / riot shotgun fanatic! I have them from the late 1880’s all the way up till now! From a Wells Fargo coach double barrel to a Benelli 1014/M4 and all in between. I LOVE DEFENSIVE SHOTGUNS! My probably SHTF shotgun is a 590A1 retrograde. I do often keep it loaded with mini shells/Federal Buckshot and slugs. Mini shells should be taken seriously, they are deadly. I can routinely hit a 8" plate at 100 yards with a mini 12ga slug. They are moving at 1250 fps from the 20" barrel of the retrograde. Mossberg now makes a 590S and it will run whatever length 12 ga shells you stuff in it, up to 3".
I put streamlight Rackers on my mossbergs, and got rechargeable 16650 batteries and I like the set up more than a side light
came for the 870 mods, liked and subscribed as soon as i saw the axes and e-tools!
I love shotguns.
Not always the best tool but man for most guys it will do most...in my area ypu cant see past 100 yards anyway
..man i dig that wood furniture
Same here. It’s dense woods and rolling hills. If it wasn’t a shotgun, it would have to be a “brush gun” type rifle, anyway.
Great video, good info, and not pretentious at all, which is rare in a gun channel.
Shotgunners are just built different!
My 590A1 is my girl!! I love my ARs it if you come in uninvited, you’re gonna be introduced to my 590!
Definitely
I’ve always had a Remington Wingmaster.
Love your setup!
We used the 870 police when I was in the US Coast Guard in the 80's. Shipboard use couldn't hurt these sturdy guns
But now I use a Mossberg 590 with the Ghost Ring sights and higher capacity.. The Marines used these for a while. I just like the Ambidextrous safety on the Mossberg. The Bayonet lug makes it useful for Zombies LOL G,G & G has great shotgun accessories made in the USA!
i evenvy you..here in the philippines its hard to own a gun...the process is so much meticulous protect your 2A...
Slugs, buck, bird shot, bean bag non-lethal, bird bombs, flares so many uses and very effective too!! Can't go wrong however some say yeah you have to work hard to keep them hot. Well yeah work on those reloads. Master it!!!
Don't forget rock salt
enjoyed watching the video, having a shotgun sure does make sense
So many pros to a shotgun.
I saw a guy in the homeless camp in Denver who had a good idea. He opened a bar. Me, I've already built my still and I've stock piled two commodities that are priceless. salt and sugar. You cant live without either. I got all the guns I need. I'm part of a gang.
Hey that pump sound speaks all languages
Yelp
@@StepOneSurvival I've got a mossberg 500 and a 590 I got the good ones 500 is 7+1 and the 590 is 8+1 I don't like semi autos they are to picky on the ammo you give them pump eat everything you put in them
@@StepOneSurvival hey I got a question for you have you noticed there isn't any mossberg 500's being made you can buy used ones or a new one that someone has had put up but it seems like they replaced them with the maverick 88 do you know what is going on no one has been able to tell me
I Like The Breacher Barrel To, My Build Will Have: The Streamlight TL-Racker 1000 Lumen Forgrip Light, A 6 Rd Velcro Side Card/Saddle & A Tactaload Flash 5 Speed Stock, To Put 5 Extra Rounds Into The Stock... 6+6+5+1=18 Rounds Total...
Thankfully they are kinda cheap too. I'm in South Carolina and I can buy a decent shotty for only a few hundred.
Nice
I actually like and prefer shotguns over every other rifle in peacetime. The only reason I have ARs and AKs and etc is for distance. I love and prefer a shotgun. I like semiautomatic shotguns but the pump is timeless - Eternal.
First gun was a Remington 870 express. I’ve had it for 15 years. Still use it and still love it.
My favorite is the Remington 870 rifled slug with extended tube
That is a cool buttstock! Never seen one of those before. Got me thinking about doing some upgrades to my shotgun.
Good guys, TactaLoad Flash-5 company is ran by vets and retired law enforcement. I bought my first one from them 2021 and it's a tough stock.
I use the Rock Island M5 & an attached light 🕯️ for things that go bump in the night 😮
Shotguns and Marines have a long relationship
Definitely
This video has made me decide to buy a shotgun
If i could offer one thought, i’d forget the optic, unless you’re beyond 50 yds a lot. Your fiber optic or an XS big dot would be more than adequate for the defense gun. Would be lighter than adding a base and optic. That said, you do you. If you’re happy with it, that’s the answer.
It's for my slugs and specialty ammo. You can see the fiber optic without worrying about the red dot. And you do you is like saying F off Politely.
@@StepOneSurvival Nah, not telling you to fuck off at all, lol!
Latest shotgun, very impressive.
That room your in gained an instant sub🤙🏻 good content brotha
Appreciate it!!
WOW I was subscriber years ago. i'm back now,it seems you went full viking with the hair and beard. Looking good.
Thank you
You had a sub at “ destructive nature”
great video love seeing shotgun content very underrated in present day. Watching a ton of shot show content today, you are right I feel like the last couple years have been the same, but it looks like aero might be producing a tacticool lever gun and it also looks like Henry is producing a pmag fed lever gun and it also looks like stag arms is going to make a 45-70 with a threaded barrel as well, super exiting stuff.
Wish we could have long magazines like that in canada
If I could only own one gun it would be a pump action shotgun in 12 guage with multiple barrels and stock configurations. A riot barrel, a bird barrel and a rifled barrel with integrated iron sights. A regular stock and a pistol grip. Plus a stockpile of various types of ammo. The most ubiquitous weapon/tool to have if you could only have one.
A Marine likes the destructive nature of a shotgun... Thebshock i have lol
Keep up the good work SSgt. BA
Thank you
Get ready for 2030. Shit is about to get insane.
I found that the bandolier sling is not the best idea. The weight of the rounds will cause it to swing back and forth while trying to get on target, All show no go
I found the same problem with the bandolier sling. Rocked back and forth.
Man bro, your looking more crazier than Charles Manson. My beard is about 1/3 as long as yours.Stay stay safe. Watch ⌚ you from central America.
My house guard is a Winchester mod 12 with a 24” barrel.
This video was really entertaining to watch thanks!
Чувак, ти крутий!! Бережи себе і своїх близьких!!
Nightstick is badass! Built like a tank
Definitely
Shotgun = best general weapon. Versatility.
They're great
That stock is impressive.
Wow you got a really cool station. 🔥
One of the best upgrades for any shotgun is an oversized safety. For the Mossberg tang safety there are two possibilities. One is made by Elite Tactical Advantage. A triangle shaped device made from aircraft grade aluminum. Replaces that plastic tang safety. Giving two mounting options, either point forward or point rearward. Elite Tactical Advantage's website explains which would be a better choice for your needs.
The other is S&J Hardware safety. A diamond shaped part. Works the same. Also made of aircraft grade aluminum. Both have a grippy texture to assist operating the safety. These two OS safeties allow for more ways to operate the safety. One of the many is manipulating the safety with an injured hand. The Mossberg OEM safety can only be manipulated by your thumb. You can work these oversized safeties with anything.
For the Remington 870 & 1100 with the trigger lock safety. Can't beat the Wilson Combat safety. The Wilson Combat safety is the only OS safety that can work with recoil reduction butt stocks. Such as the Knoxx SpecOps stock. The other recommended safety is the Vang Comp safety. Having a rounded protruding extension to locate the safety by feel. Works best using a more standard stock.
Grate stuff thanks man
I love my 870
I’ve got the 500 . Thanks for sharing.
Ssgt BA , thanks for sharing YAH bless brother !
Thank you and God bless
Don’t change anything ZZ gun looks great and I am sure it run well . 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🌴😎🌴
Thank you. It cycles great.
I'm gonna get my brother some of this stuff since he doesn't have a rifle
A+ On the awesome man cave Sir.
Thank you kindly
God bless you and yours brother.
:))
I just found your channel. I like it a lot.
Thank you
Nice video! Thanks 🙏🏿🇺🇸
Thank you
Got me a stoeger straight pull,7 in the tube and 1 in the chamber 8 all up ,whoever is in the house when they shouldn’t be are not going home
My boom stick 590
Thanks
You had me at "I'm bored" 😂 New sub.
Thank you 👊🍻
I just done a Shotguns during SHTF video.
I love my Winchester pump 1300 . Just need a light . Please advice . And it's with the wooden furniture
Kidnap me please!!! lol all jokes aside, just found your channel, subbed and liked, amazing content!!! TYVM for your time, knowledge, wisdom and best efforts!
Thank you
Looks great Ssgt. I’m looking at getting some wood furniture for a 500 or 590.
The wood looks great, I just need more duty Shotguns for security.
Nice Rigs!
Thanks!
Call me crazy but i was just thinking about a shotty build. My first shotgun that was very accurate, affordable, and saved my life from a home invader. long story short sold it off but I want to get back my Savage Arms Stevens Model 320 Security 12G, and i keep seeing these Silver Eagle RZ-17 12 Gauge Shottys that give u alot of bang for a very low buck
So many pros to a shotgun, and there's caliber adapters for them you can shoot 22lr 22wmr 9mm 38sp 45lc 410 all from the same shoty.
@@StepOneSurvival ya I watched your video on the short lane adapters
The only shotgun I've ever seen fail was a savage arms Steven model. Idk the exact model but I've never seen a shotty fail to do anything shotgun-like 😂 I was shocked, and glad it wasn't mine. Mossberg Maverick ftw
Ive had two Savage Arms Stevens Model 320 pumps both were great, i also had a Mossberg NOW being someone who reloads and likes my toys yes always go with a mossberg over lower end "Brands" but functionality wise a shotgun is a shotgun no not all created equal but id say 95% of the shotguns ive hunted with, shot, or have seen dont fail. The shotgun has been a great design for years and years
@@benrent6625
Now with all that being said I wanna customize one bc i just wanna have something that looks...Different. i already know itll be reliable and accurate and durable. I wanna customize for aesthetics pretty much. bc if i was going for just a shotgun buy once cry once...Benelli Pump Action
Amen
My 12 pump has never gone click on the first shot. Never jammed either. Trust it more than my ar
Me too
It sucks they don't sell the pro series s mini anymore
i am a huge single shot fan because of sub caliber adapters
Me too but I can use adapters in my pump.
U are like a kid with all the toys in the world.. and "sigh.. I'm bored".. 😂🤣
Just found your Channel (My oh my, sometimes the EweTube algorithm actually does something good! Who knew?), and LOVE this topic! Got yerself another Subscriber!
I own not one, but two Mossy 590's, and wouldn't sell/trade 'em for anything! I keep them 'K.I.S.S.' and aside from the convenient 'Bear pokers', prefer them that way.
:-)
Sorry for the 'Edit.' I noticed a huge typo, so fixed it!
Thank you
great video bro thanks for the info , love the content , btw what kind of rifle is that in the back wall left top corner ?
M44
Subbed
Thank you
Are we able to do a 20gauge with these same exact parts? I really love that stock
Yes
Luk.22,35-38
When i heard u talk i subbed - eastern n.c here😅
Thank you
Shotgun Jesus is right.
Nice build, but why not go to velcro saddles?
Loud and the tape doesn't last long
The night stick
That should fit the maverick 88 / Mossberg 500?
500 -yes, but the 88 no, it has a different forend it's a fixed one piece.
You can retrofit the necessary 500 slide tube and locking ring parts into the 88 to accept the nightstick, just some more money and steps
New to the channel. Those transparent shells in the sidesaddle with the insane buckshot load, what are those? Are they a custom load?
00 buck reduced recoil.
Outdated? Thats a nice firearm 😁
is the nightstick laser on point and accurate
100%
Hey ba love your videos and I wanted your opinion should I keep my ar15 I built are should I sell it and get a shotgun or 22lr I don't have much ammo for the AR and poor as hell and live in Wisconsin and am not sure what to do
Never sell. Just save up buy something else to add to your collection.
@StepOneSurvival whats a good budget 22 pistol you would recommend for small game hunting/back up self defense it need be
You can hunt a dove or hunt a moose with same gun .
what an awesome channel. Fucking guy is just like the rest of us
