    Jack is one of the best players amongst the TH-cam demo guitar players !! The amp sounds pretty good, too :)

    Another excellent video Jack, thanks so much. Your playing is exceptional as always, but what I enjoyed was your in depth explanation of the unique controls of this totally original design.

    Just when you think you have everything you need this comes out. Love everything from z good to see them doing some high gain stuff.

    And put it through the Jack's paces...... he will🤘 There must be something happening between that slanted strat pup & cathode bias 6L6's......cause I've never heard a Strat bridge pup sound sound good into a gained up amp........crazy good results happening here.

    I recently went to Dr. Z's site to check out the Z-Wreck Jr. Then I saw this amp. Watched a few demos and bought a CAZ-45 instead. It is insanely good. His playing really shows off the amp. The only thing I wish he did was dial back the Aggression knob to show it can also be as smooth as you want it to be. But no doubt this demo does a great job of showing off the natural voice of the amp.

    Amazing playing as always Jack and awesome review! Quick question, how does it stack up against the SLO-100? To my ears (always keeping in mind my reference is only the videos from TH-cam) they sound really close. What do you guys think? Can this be a good alternative to the SLO-100 considering it's way cheaper as well. Cheers!

    Sounds pretty good, to my ears… Nice and woolly. Sort of reminiscent of the Fender Tonemaster from the 90s that I used to have and Mr. Blackmore would be proud… And nervous!🤠

    Sounded great. I dug that Jack used a S style guitar with high gain. No overly stereotyped tone.

    First time I heard a Dr Z amp was c.20 years ago (i'd never heard of them at the time) being used by Buddy Whittington, and the sound was phenomenal!

    Maybe a separate video on the Nordvang Gravity? The amp sounds great though. Really like that single coil sound around the 12:00 mark. I think EVH might have been proud of that ending too!

    • @cmatte82
      @cmatte82 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      FWIW I bought one of these amps not long ago. That's the only thing about this demo imo. He keeps the "Aggression" knob way up the whole time, and it really adds that roughness. If he'd dial it back the amp gets a lot smoother. I rarely set mine above 12 o'clock or so. And you can turn it off if you want.

  • @donkeydarko77
    @donkeydarko77 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    100% honesty: I don't get the Dr. Z love. I have played through two models, and have watched many demos/reviews of other models. I don't like the cleans or overdrive tones, can't gel with the feel, and can't figure out why so many people do.

      I used to think the same thing. I now own 20 of them. It took a while to come around, but I play them more than any of my other amps, which are many. To each his own I guess.

      These aren't for bedroom use. They're meant for stage and studio use. Anybody I've ever talked to that didn't bond with a Z amp either didn't have them dialed in properly, or they were turned down too low...

    • @donkeydarko77
      @donkeydarko77 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@munafo13 I didn't play them in a bedroom, Francis. Great job explaining what makes the Z's special, though. Really convincing argument, lol

      @@munafo13 Since you aren't commenting about WHY the Z amps should be valued, I can only figure that you've never played one, nor heard one in person. Otherwise, you would have made an argument addressing that point. Typical of your type, tbh.
