I love the idea of manual dexterity wargames. This would be a great, tactile way of getting kids interested in tabletop gaming. It reminds me of a lot of the "flick missiles" that Lego was all about a few years ago. Seems like a great game to bust out between bigger games at conventions (although just like with Lego missiles you have a very high chance of losing them!)
Thanks! Will defo check it out. Yeah I thought about the bullets and so far I can only made it bigger and design so it has flat surface (so it doesnt roll off easily) but i guess it will still be flying around since its the nature of the game
@@KwadDamyj I'm so glad somebody else knows about _Little Wars!_ That game was entirely built around those toy cannons. I keep thinking maybe I'll design a 3-D printable cannon that fires airsoft pellets with a pen spring for a game like that
Could it also be an idea that you attach strings (maybe fishing string?) to the projectiles so that they don't get lost? Also in some regard "nerfs" its capabilities since it could only fly so far that way
i love this idea, but I think the base shapes should be more differentiated to encourage more strategic play. Like the shield unit should have a large tab on the back of the base. Making it much more resistant from falling over to attacks made from the front where the shield is. Having different shaped bases that change the physics of the mini itself would add a very interesting complexity to the battles and strategies.
Absolutely this! Frail units with small wobbly bases, units that have wide shapes on some directions but narrow in others to encourage flanking or attacking from behind, maybe even modular bases that 'chip away' as units take damage, making them easier and easier to knock over the more damaged they get?
This is a terrific idea as in units which larger health should be able to take more hits from more units. If those tanky units take the same hit to knock over as a glass low health unit, the combat will largely be a stalemate and the variety of troops will be limited. I still think the game would be cool, however this would compliment the existing game.
Assorted ideas: - support unit that could give a friendly unit a larger base plate and more health - loose objects could create destructible environment - kamikaze unit, you just flick the entire minifigure at the enemy - Chainshot, two bullets connected by string - Builder unit that creates barricades with rubber footing to make it hard to fling
i had a plastic frog as a child with a tab on the back, pushing the tab down would make it "Jump" forward, i think that sort of play would make a neat greenling kamikaze@@pxlcdt
The kamikaze could be like if you topple both, both die, and if you topple one only they die, but the one who doesn't get toppled still takes some amount of damage to be determined somehow. This game is a really interesting idea and kind of reminds me of the marble shooter toys I had as a kid. I hope this becomes a success.
i have another idea for the kamikaze unit:a necromancer, basiclly he can revive dead units from any side, and these "zombies" can fight and also explode, once a zombie has exploded he can no longer be revived
I love this! It’s the perfect hybrid between a toy for children and a tabletop game for adults. I will be getting these files to print and play this game for my family. I wish I had had these when I was a kid, I wanted to learn tabletop games but I was too young.

Yeah, the manual attacking is really cool, but I think it should have a board that makes it easy to keep track of exactly where the units are, and bases that are easier to rotate. More pieces would really sell this, like a cannon that can easily knock over smaller enemies, or barricades that have to be knocked over/pushed out of the way. Has a lot of potential
Holy crap this is so cool! I love the flicking mechanic a ton, but I was sold with the bullet also being the damage die for the attack-- it's such a clever way to implement variable damage while keeping the minimalist gameplay and aesthetic I can see so much potential for expanding this concept with more unit(s) types and factions
Rockem Sockem Wargames. Creative idea. The missile being a damage die was interesting too. I considered that there can be a cavalry miniature to be fast. I would absolutely love to see this project continue to grow, get more official Greenling and Trooperkind units, as well as see what people in the community could come up with for fan made forces!
Some ideas: - larger units held together by magnets that could have pieces knocked loose and "disable" actions but in turn be a bigger threat on the game table - having "spell" pieces that could place a "shield" up by connecting the baseplate to it - using magnets to maintain a consistency in range of movement
A Minotaur faction could be interesting. their gimmick would that their movement is their attack. in practice the minotaurs could a support unit that acts a launcher propelling the attack units forward into action. the risk i would imagine is the possibility of toppling themselves.
This is, by far, the most intuitive and possibly most inventive tabletop war game I’ve seen in a long, long while. Physical dexterity and finesse is a great way to make players, especially younger players, feel that they have a greater control over their strategy than dice can feel like at times. If I were to give any feedback, I would second what other people are saying with different styles for the model bases that make them easier or harder to topple from certain angles, depending on their defenses and the type of unit they are. Even something like making shield unit bases hexagonal so they can theoretically form a phalanx with enough shieldmen.
you should add a seige mechanic where you can build structures with little blocks you can topple, i think it would add a lot to the physics based element
Excellent work! Sadly, no printer. Any plans on a Kickstarter with physical release perhaps? Wargaming back to it's OG roots!; was 'Little Wars' by H.G. Wells any inspiration?

This is super interesting! I actually owned toys just like this as a kid. Star Wars had a line of miniatures that had the same "Flick and topple" rules for their units. Just did some digging, it was the game Heroclix! I only had the Star Wars ones, but essentially the melee units had a sort of joint in the middle so you could twist the top half and let it go to swing them, and they had the health counter in the base too! The ranged units had these weighty plastic bullets they'd launch pretty far too. Pretty cool!
The idea is really good. Imo you could add a Skeleton faction, that is an ally to the Greenling faction, And the Skeleton"s Bonus troop could be reviving its teammates from the dead with a graveyard of some sort. You could add a Frostling faction that is an ally to the trooplings, and they attack and freeze or slow down the enemy units. And the bonus troop could be a Frostling that adds an ice wall that prevents attacking for a few turns
A few ideas Unit who’s movement is decided by flicking the base. If it’s toppled, it trips and dies When you were going through the rules I saw a tank, I think that’s needed because as is greenlings are op. Maybe similar to the mortar but more movement and multiple different ways to attack? Flick out bullets (straight ahead as opposed to angled upwards like the mortar) and trooperkind with weapons sticking out of it? Also, maybe a third or fourth faction for games with more people?
So - I watched this initially like a month ago. For some reason this idea has embedded itself into my brain and I came back to say that I love this idea and I plead that you expand on these lil guys more! I grew up playing with Star Wars Attacktix and this has really reminded me how much I loved that game. I now have a son who would adore something like this and if you expanded out with new armies, new mechanics, new designs I would support it in a heart beat. This is something special you have here.
You could also consider making certain units that are modular. You can switch out parts to either give them a heavier weapon or a sturdier base/shield. Or maybe make that unit have pegs where you can attach “armor” that make it heavier and harder to topple over.
I adore this concept, I think it’d be cool if you added another faction, maybe a bird, golem, or lizard faction. Structures would be an amazing addition too.!
I am amazed about how much creativity you putted into this. The flicking mechanic makes a good use and can be developed in so much ways to keep the game strategical and also funny. I will instantly follow this project and hope you can patent it. All of best luck for you !
Very cool idea! I played something similar as a kid, great introductory and new spin to gaming! Might I suggest adding something to the bottom of the base that says each units special ability? Just to keep it compact
This is the coolest table top game I’ve ever seen. Your creativity is unmatched and I will definitely love this when I print it out. I might even try thinking of my own faction to create for home brew.
My small suggestion this time is a flexible ruler, to climb objects, each distance unit could be linked to the next in a chain like manner to make a ruler-chain
I really like this. I think it would be interesting to make them spring powered so you pull back and release the attack. Would allow units power to be capped at max spring draw, could be interesting for limiting range attacks and making certain units harder to topple.
Dude, when i was younger, I invented a game that is also about flicking the characters but you would flick the whole character instead and defeat the enemies by knocking them over, and that was pretty much all there was to is, despite it being very simple, I remember we having lots of fun, I should try to play it again with my friends…
this reminds me a lot of attacktix. it was a tabletop game from 2005, featuring characters from star wars, marvel, and transformers. the figures had similar attack mechanics, but were spring-powered (so instead of directly flicking the mace guy, you'd pull back on the mace and then let go).
project looks great! i think you should make it so each unit has a functional moving part for more tactile/skill based gameplay. for the healer, maybe you could have a projectile that you launch and if you strike your own unit, it heals it
Would be fun for the mace unit to be able to lose the mace, so the unit has a strong attack but it can lose its weapon if you flick with too much strength. Weapon could be recoverd in some way.
This is such a cool idea! I've always wanted something like this. Im excited to see where this goes! My recommendation, along with some others I've seen in the comments, different shaped bases that have pros and cons based on positions. Like the shield guy is less easy to topple front on, but from the sides it might be much easier. If I had to suggest a faction: Add some dwarves!!! Simply being shorter units they'd be harder to hit, but then make their bases smaller so if they do get hit they're likely to topple!
to make the green-ling healer more dynamic you could have it shoot its healing at the orcs so its a risk v reward system of staying closer to orcs with consistent healing but close to danger or farther away but more prone to missing
I think that it's a really cool concept!!! I had some ideas that may be useful: - The flicking mechanic is the core of the game, so maybe coloring the parts that can be flicked with a different color can be an improvement. - Making the repair man have an attachment thing to merge it with mechanical troops, so it provides more stability in exchange for -1 movement for the machine that he's attached to - Maybe Battleflick, Battleflickers as the title? idk this ones are personal - Having buildings for troops would be cool (Hut, medic camp, barracks, etc.) - I don't know if this is going to be in the final version, but I feel that packing the figures inbuilt and having the player to assemble them would be nice, like a Lego minifigure. I love it! Keep up the good work!
This looks cool as hell, but with the green guys being so big and the grey guys being so small and easy to topple it would seem like they are at a disadvantage, at least at a first glance
Very creative form of combat, I wasn't sure about the flicking at first, but the ranged weapon sold me. I am curious what other forms of ranged combat could be made, I would 100% buy this.
Ahah, thats whay i made these from scratch. It’s meant to be clashed, toppled, and crushed. Imagine a wargame miniature that can get actual battle scars, instead of painting one.
shielded units could be immune to insta kills, all insta kills are treated as 1hp damage. Or more in the spirit of the game, as someone suggested, shields causes larger bases as well. I dont like that they slide around and move when handled, would cause players to press down hard on their own base to stabelise, and all that pressure can cause accidents. Maybe a rubber play mat or rubber base buttom can help some and add a complexity level. Units removing parts of them self to indicate damage could be a thing, they lose function at the same time. But makes them more fragile perhaps, but it can be a feature to see the mayham.
This is such a charming way to make a wargame that is beginner-friendly in both price and mechanics. I also love how, since the pieces are printed by the player, you can still keep up a version of the custom paintjob tradition just by choosing to print them with different colored materials.
Have you ever heard of attackticks? (Not sure if that's the right spelling.) They were a similar concept. Each unit had a ticker wheel in its base, which would audibly count off the unit's movement. Then each had a spring-loaded action, like swinging a weapon or shooting a gun, which could be used to make an attack. There were some deeper mechanics, as well, like the ticker wheel would sometimes display a white mark on the underside of the base. A unit knocked over with the white mark displayed would give the player who owned it some special benefit before being removed (eg. a vehicle/mount unit might be replaced by a driver/rider unit). I had the Star Wars units as a kid and I remember it being a lot of fun.
I love the diegetic system that you created for this simple but amazing wargame. I hope that you added a measurament in centimeters instead of roman numerals since in that regard I think you kinda made it harder (I mean, wouldn't be surprised if people just used cms when playing instead of your ruler cuz it's easier to get a normal ruler so people would only need to check the equivalency and use it from then on). Sadly I don't have friends to play it with, but yeah I really love it. Great idea and execution.
these look awesome! a great design both for the game and for the pieces (looks great and works great). cant wait to print and have a big battle with my friends. I hope you keep coming up with new factions and features! great work!!
This game looks so nice and fun!! One idea: Maybe you can experiment with some additional weights inside the units to make them more hard to topple or creating a weak spot with balance.
It's an amazing concept and design, you have a good base, I'm excited to see how it wilk evolve If you're interested in faction ideas, I think a nature faction could work well. You could have very low mobility tree troops that could provide for covers and spinning defense (while being very tough to take down in a swing) Fairies with low health, no attack but the ability to make an enemy troop yours if it gets close enough Gnomes being short enough not to be touched by spears and high attacks Wood elves being ranged units but that dies immediately if the tree unit is destroyed (the gameplay would then be a gamble between using the tree as defense vs having to protect the tree to survive)
Kind of reminds me of Star Wars Attactics where charactes had different sets of movement and they had either projectile or rotational melee attacks. It was pretty fun/cool as a kid. Units had different movement values, value points, and extra abilities on top of their combat action. Generally, I believe that you'd get to use each of your characters in one turn (that or it was use one character at a time)
i had a "similar" game that was purely about flicking the figures at eachother so they would fall of the table, so i think Battleclub is an incredible idea.
I had to look this up because its been about a decade since i even talked about it, but this game really reminds me of the old Star Wars Attacktix miniature battle game. This game is obviously more straightforward and I'd imagine since you can print your own, you could customize your own pieces. It would be really cool if you could put the clicker and spin down that the Star wars game had into the base of these miniatures to make measuring distance a little more streamline.
This is such a fun and novel idea and really streamlines wargames down into a fun and easy to learn way. Please continue to flesh out this idea, I think that this has the possibility of becoming really big and well-loved by all ages. While I don't have a 3d printer, if you ever consider selling pre-printed sets I would most definitely give you my money lol. Best of luck with this project! I think some way to cast spells / place blockades on the battlefield would be dope and I would probably play that faction a lot :)
I think you need to make the bases slightly bigger, because holding the unit still seemed clumsy. But if you want to keep it that way, I would remove the "If unit falls down, it dies" and replace it with the unit having to spend the whole next turn getting up. And also, if you flick your own unit too hard, it gets stunned too, when it falls down.
I miss stuff like this. Reminds me of that Star Wars doodle game from the origami yoda books where you draw ships and flick a pencil and if the pencil goes over an enemy ship it shoots it and if it doesn’t it instead moves your ship
Very nice and simple, although I think you should be careful when designing short troops (goblins) bc some troops will not hit them (cue spear and mace), maybe they could be a counter to them (spear and mace) but I am no designer
I made one of these a few years back. Called it "Wood Wars 3D". I never quite finished it because in playtests only the dexterity parts were fun. Maybe I need to revisit the idea.

Id love to see more units added! Also would love to see the shields in action more. I feel like the big club greenling is looking OP!>:)
I am amazed about how much creativity you putted into this. The flicking mechanic makes a good use and can be developed in so much ways to keep the game strategical and also funny. I will instantly follow this project and hope you can patent it. All of best luck for you !
This is honestly a masterclass in Game Design! Excellent job!!
5:20 that is genius
Very cool idea! I played something similar as a kid, great introductory and new spin to gaming! Might I suggest adding something to the bottom of the base that says each units special ability? Just to keep it compact
i LOVE the bullet mechanic of the damage being based on what side it lands on. super creative and innovative game!!!
It looks super cool, plus the game design behind seems to be funny and well balanced. I hope to see some more factions !
I really like this. I think it would be interesting to make them spring powered so you pull back and release the attack. Would allow units power to be capped at max spring draw, could be interesting for limiting range attacks and making certain units harder to topple.
this is so cute. I've never played a war-game before, and don’t have anyone to play with, but this feels very beginner friendly and fun.
Using physics to do the math for you is pretty genius
I love the simple designs of the minifigs, the flick feature is also fun!
a support unit that just runs around with a crab claw in front of them moving around enemy units would be hilarious
Dude, when i was younger, I invented a game that is also about flicking the characters but you would flick the whole character instead and defeat the enemies by knocking them over, and that was pretty much all there was to is, despite it being very simple, I remember we having lots of fun, I should try to play it again with my friends…
Just bought the starter kit for the greenling and trooper-kind. Keep it up man, this is awesome!
Oh thank you so much, really appreciate it man. Im processing your order now 🙏🏽
This is something I'd see an ad for on Cartoon Network fifteen years ago, and I still want it
This reminds me a lot of Little Wars, where cannon fire is determined by actually firing a toy cannon and the mechanics are simple.
This is one of the coolest and creative games I’ve ever seen!
We need more of these units! I can't wait to buy this for my birthday!
this reminds me a lot of attacktix. it was a tabletop game from 2005, featuring characters from star wars, marvel, and transformers. the figures had similar attack mechanics, but were spring-powered (so instead of directly flicking the mace guy, you'd pull back on the mace and then let go).
This is a brilliant idea! Thank you for sharing it with everyone.
This is the coolest looking miniature game! So awesome how you built all of these tactile pieces!
project looks great! i think you should make it so each unit has a functional moving part for more tactile/skill based gameplay.
for the healer, maybe you could have a projectile that you launch and if you strike your own unit, it heals it
Would be fun for the mace unit to be able to lose the mace, so the unit has a strong attack but it can lose its weapon if you flick with too much strength.
I had some ideas that may be useful:
- The flicking mechanic is the core of the game, so maybe coloring the parts that can be flicked with a different color can be an improvement.
- Making the repair man have an attachment thing to merge it with mechanical troops, so it provides more stability in exchange for -1 movement for the machine that he's attached to
- Maybe Battleflick, Battleflickers as the title? idk this ones are personal
- Having buildings for troops would be cool (Hut, medic camp, barracks, etc.)
- I don't know if this is going to be in the final version, but I feel that packing the figures inbuilt and having the player to assemble them would be nice, like a Lego minifigure.
I love it! Keep up the good work!
I see, so it's essentially Warhammer, but extremely simple.
This looks cool as hell, but with the green guys being so big and the grey guys being so small and easy to topple it would seem like they are at a disadvantage, at least at a first glance
Even though I like to paint my miniatures for war games and I probably wouldn’t be able to here, I love this genius idea.
Very creative form of combat, I wasn't sure about the flicking at first, but the ranged weapon sold me. I am curious what other forms of ranged combat could be made, I would 100% buy this.
Imagine playing Warhammer and casually flicking the opponent's delicate and carefully painted minis off the table 😂
Oooh this is cool, its like those old atacktix toys
This is SO charming. Would love to see it evolve further!
This is such a charming way to make a wargame that is beginner-friendly in both price and mechanics. I also love how, since the pieces are printed by the player, you can still keep up a version of the custom paintjob tradition just by choosing to print them with different colored materials.
Love this idea, insanely creative! I might just buy the STLs myself and have a go at it.
Hi thanks I learned about attacktix while posting about this project, defo will check it out for reference. Thanks 🙏🏽
Reminds me of Atacktics. Really, really cool man!
Reminds me A LOT of Impact, a board/war game for kids where you shot plastic missiles at the miniatures on the enemy team
Wow, I just love all the little design tricks. It's smart and simple to understand
Honestly this is gold! I dont own a 3d printer but I would love to support this as there's great potential
Super dope love the designs! I really want to see more units and factions
This is what I image a war game sold by ikea to look like. Love it.
these look awesome! a great design both for the game and for the pieces (looks great and works great). cant wait to print and have a big battle with my friends. I hope you keep coming up with new factions and features! great work!!
This game looks so nice and fun!!
One idea: Maybe you can experiment with some additional weights inside the units to make them more hard to topple or creating a weak spot with balance.
PLEASE make this an actual game because I would absolutly and certainly buy it. 100% fan from Italy here
It's an amazing concept and design, you have a good base, I'm excited to see how it wilk evolve
If you're interested in faction ideas, I think a nature faction could work well. You could have very low mobility tree troops that could provide for covers and spinning defense (while being very tough to take down in a swing)
Fairies with low health, no attack but the ability to make an enemy troop yours if it gets close enough
Gnomes being short enough not to be touched by spears and high attacks
Wood elves being ranged units but that dies immediately if the tree unit is destroyed (the gameplay would then be a gamble between using the tree as defense vs having to protect the tree to survive)
This is so cool. Definitely keep making new characters. Possibly the coolest thing I've seen in a while.
Kind of reminds me of Star Wars Attactics where charactes had different sets of movement and they had either projectile or rotational melee attacks. It was pretty fun/cool as a kid. Units had different movement values, value points, and extra abilities on top of their combat action. Generally, I believe that you'd get to use each of your characters in one turn (that or it was use one character at a time)
Hasbro made something like this back in 2007, it was called attacktix. Pretty fun concept, glad to see it resurfacing.
This looks amazing!
the art style is super endearing too, hopefully it stays looking like this or similar!
i had a "similar" game that was purely about flicking the figures at eachother so they would fall of the table, so i think Battleclub is an incredible idea.
It took me a long time to get into warhammer. So I think this is good for beginners
this seems amazing. love the idea. might buy
Battleclub... i see what you did there
😏😀 nice one!
This is actually so cool, although I can imagine situations where the figures are in positions difficult to properly flick
I wonder what other factions could look like moving forward, but this is really cool
Hi yes that's a good point, will keep in mind for sure thanks!
I made one of these a few years back. Called it "Wood Wars 3D". I never quite finished it because in playtests only the dexterity parts were fun. Maybe I need to revisit the idea.
destructable terrain sounds like a good idea as well, some brick walls or buildings. maybe pallisade walls
