yikes that was a humff anna hoff hehehe. you shoulda went down glen sannox, loads of great camping spots at the end, then just get the bus into town in the morning, or go up to the ridge for a look see. anyway great hike, imagine what you could do without the heavy packs? you could do all the peaks easily hehehe.
Absolutely and I fool carried like 5 liter of water as I thought we would camp on top of Beinn Tarsuinn 😂. Will for sure go back to Arran as I have a couple of routes in mind which I would love to do! Thanks a lot for the tip with Glen Sannox Madmacs FPV I will keep that in mind 👍 ATB Stripey
Great new hike Stripey! The view from Ben Nuis looks amazing. And very cool that you brought a friend with you this time. Looks like you had a great time. Happy trails, M.
The rock at 5:00 looks like the profile of a certain orange President of the USA! Great video which makes me want to go to Arran even more. Cheers Stripey!
Great video. I did the same hike with a friend a few years back and you captured it perfectly, 4 seasons, never ending and getting back to Brodick in the dark when everything has already closed for the day. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking about doing it!
Nice one stripey. The hills in Arran are great and heading over there for a few days this weekend. Will do goatfell for I think the 5th time. It’s been a while since been on these hills! ⛰👍
It made my hips just hurt watching you. Great views which I'm afraid are now out of reach of my ageing cartilages which are getting tighter than a Dundonian's sporran strings 😉
Brilliant Stripey what an Epic Tour 😁💪🏻..The mountains of Arran are so beautiful..It just a shame about the high winds for a summits camp..Glen Rosa just seem to go on and on and on and on 😂..Loved it mate..As you know a place close to my heart ⛰ Cheers Robert
Was up Cir Mhor last month during the last heatwave amazing Summit 👍 Walked up it with a guy and his son I met on Caisteal Abhail while camping the night before. He said he had descend of it before heading to the saddle and it was sketchy. He heard there was a easier path just down from the summit that we found on the way up so he headed that way and I went on to Beinn Tarsuinn so never seen them again so don't know if it was any easier. Would love to find out as I plan on doing that route next year 😄
Arran is an amazing wee island with incredible rock formations round every corner Stripey. I've been several times over the last two years Inc last week. What day were you there?
Well done buddy, that's a good days walking! The path off Cir Mhor is one of those that is very easy to see from the saddle, but from the summit can be a wee bit tricky to stick to. Rosa is a bloody slog back out, Glen Sannox is far nicer IMO, is generally sheltered and has a really nice wee section known as the Whin Dyke, a wee chimney with a bit of a scramble through. The western hills are great as well, up past Coire Fionn Lochan, and eventually onto Beinn Bharrain, amazing views of the ridge you guys were on, and plenty camping spots, as the hills are big and rounded, like the Eastern Highlands.
Thank you very much Greg! I see you now the area much better than me, Glen Sannox seems to be the way to go 😃 - can't wait to get back to Arran 😎👍 Cheers Stripey
Brilliant stuff! That first section up Beinn Nuiss and Beinn Tarsuinn is where I managed to get to on my scorching route a few years ago. The plan was to then get Cir Mhor and Caisteal Abhail before returning over Goat Fell but had to bail at the risk of dehydration. It was good to see the terrain on Cir Mhor for reference and my next attempt. I was expecting you to stay near the bench at Glen Rosa where you start the ascent but entirely get why you pressed on. Sometimes when you're that tired you just think F it and continue. Where did you end up staying in the end?
Hi mate 👋, Yeah was really tempting to press on but after carrying all the water (5l 🙈) we decided that it was already a good day and thought we rather call it a day (was actually good as next morning was completely cloudy and rainy, even in the night). Andy just stayed awake all night near the co-op and I had my tent nearby up like a bum 😂😂😂 Edit: You really need to look that you find the right path down from Chir Mhor as ours involved quite some tricky bits... unfortunately my stupid GoPro went low on battery and I didn't noticed it 🤬
@@StripeyHatGuy I found the bit down from Beinn Tarsuinn to the bealach at Beinn Chliabhain a bit steep and tricky too, almost hyper-extending my knee at one point. The portion you guys were on looked even trickier so I'll keep that in mind next time. I can't believe your friend stayed up all night at the Co-op, that's hardcore. I've seen people camp on the grass at the shore front before but doing an all-nighter in a Co-op, that's a different level 💪🏻 Great stuff again.
Fantastic tour Stripey and Andy! 👏👏👏

Hahaha you wrapped the video perfectly up in a few sentences 😂
Fantastic as always Mate 👍🏻
Nice one Stripey and pal. More Corbetts in the bag eh. 😉 Pity aboot the camp but too windy eh. Looked a great walk tho. I'll need to return to Arran.
Thanks Kev! Yeah the wind was a little to much - long hike but Andy and me enjoyed the tour already 1 day later 😂👍

Thanks a lot Robert! Such a pity that you couldn't join us 🥲 - can't wait to go back to Arran with my local friend 🙌🤞
@@StripeyHatGuy Next time buddy 😁..Cant wait 😁⛰
On a good day you can see these hills from the upper floors of Glasgow University library.
Oh I didn't know that, guess I never looked out during my time in the library 😂
@@StripeyHatGuy Let's face it, there aren't many good days! 😆

Hi Steven 👋,
yes there is an easier path on the south side of Chir Mhor. Will record it next time when I am over 👍
