These tracks should have historical destination assigned to them and never be removed or replaced or covered over. I rode the 60 E. liberty homestead PCC for many many years thank you for the great video and bringing back memories thanks again

Thanks for filming and sharing this footage. I’m an Aussie, who grew up in Melbourne, still the home of an extensive streetcar system, so they’re in my blood!

This video always makes me smile . I had to look and see if I left a comment , And as I thought of that . my memory came right back to what I mentioned in the comment before I even read it.

Before the new Forbes Avenue realignment was repaved, outbound Forbes Avenue cars were on newly repaved trackage on Forbes Avenue on the new alignment to the left of the old alignment looking outbound! I rode them!

That's when just the inbound cars were diverted to 5th Avenue at Craig Street.

Great vid! Growing up in Wilkinsburg and Forest Hills in the 60's and early 70's, I hung at Frick Park a lot and remembered those tracks. I was very surprised to see they are still there.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It is amazing that they're still around. When the remnants in Glassport and McKeesport were recently removed, I decided it was time to document the rest.

Thank you, for a great video. Tell me, please: at the top of Allenby, did the streetcars bear left, to continue their journey to (I'm guessing), Forbes Avenue? Thank you.

I used to walk to school along washington road in Mt. Lebanon in the early 1990s, and I remember pot holes in the road exposing abandoned track in the road that had been paved over.

there were a lot of towns that had the tracks in the street . I remember it throwing the car side to side as you drove on them ! . I got to ride street cars for about 25 years before they only used them for the T train .

Indeed. Most towns with streetcar systems had tracks in the streets. If you notice my scene going down Chestnut, you'll notice that I straddle the rail with my car to avoid the situation you remember! What makes these locations unique is that they were never paved over after abandonment unlike most of the other tracks. I also just discovered another section in Millvale, so be on the lookout for an updated video!
