my dad listened to much older music, his passion was in barbershop quartet singing, he used to be in several within his life, i will admit when i was younger i couldn't stand it, but as an adult i can appreciate it more, some of the songs i know by heart.
so much of the modern music sucks and i can't get into it, but this older stuff i have learned to really enjoy, before listening to this i was enjoying some ray Conniff music and i love it, people will say his music is elevator music, and i will say i wish his music was played in elevators because general elevator music never sounds nearly as good lol.

Like many others leaving comments, I’m 68 and this music brings back so many wonderful memories from my childhood! I too find that as the years go by, I love the music of my parents more and more, because it was REAL music. Much of popular music today sounds like it came out of the same can! Those were simpler times. Funny, that when you go through a certain time period, like the 60s, you maybe don’t appreciate things. Then when you get older, and reflect, you wish you could go back - maybe for a day or two, just to soak it all up…kiss that girl you were afraid to approach for a date, joke with your father again, eat one of your mother’s homemade tacos, and maybe do it all again and…well…yes..appreciate it more.

My dad was a hotelier and this was one of the popular albums of the early 1960s. I was a young lad then. I remembered my late father and his friends danced on the stage. Afrikaan Beat was music I grew up with. It brings back fond memories. I will purchase the album.

Me too. Late night broadcasting from foreign radio stations such as Hilversum and one or two from France or Belgium on the Medium Waveband played this kind of music. Desmond Carrington on the BBC also played Bert Kaempfert regularly.

Aún eres joven, yo acabo de cumplir 80 y hermanos, amigos y mis papis fallecieron hace muchos años. Solo tengo un maravilloso hijo de 45 y mi esposa falleció cuando ella tenía 26 años. I always heard these tunes and never knew the names of them! Memories of when my lovely parents were alive - we used to go camping in Europe with my uncle and cousins every year. They always had this playing on our Motorola car radio. Everything seemed good with the world in the 60's. Bert Kaempfert was a genius!
Then I grew up and they were gone and world turned into 'Hell on Earth'. It felt like the movie 'Hellraiser' was really happening. People started getting stabbed in the streets or acid thrown over them, EVERY DAY this happened and was on the news. WFT happened to out peaceful country? Certain people arrived that were NOT peaceful and brought their terror with them! Those days of Elysium gone forever.......😢😮😭 The world continues to decline day by day.....

Reading the comments all so true. I’m 67 and have my own personal set of memories of my dad playing this set of songs on both cassette tape and record player. It would be on more often than not.
Yes simpler days , free easy, my dad was in a better place, so was mum. Life was pretty good for us then. Thanks for the memories.

Saudade da minha infância, ouvia no rádio essa e outras orquestras do gênero, essa orquestra entre outras me influenciou a estudar música. Hoje sou músico profissional, professor e regente de grupos musicais. Eventualmente toco essas músicas, fez parte do meu aprendizado musical. VIVA A MÚSICA - MÚSICA VIVA!

La primera vez que lo escuché fue cerca del año 1977-1978 mientras mi papá estudiaba, siempre escuchando música en la Radio El Conquistador o San Cristóbal (Santiago de Chile). Que bellos recuerdos y que privilegio de escuchar musica de verdad.

Buena orquesta, sus melodías lo escuchaba en el liceo # 2 en Arica Chile, en mis primero años de estudio, en el año 1962. Bonito recuerdo.
