I don't know what would be more emotional, (both in awe and saddness) when visiting this place. The fact it's 2000 years old but also that the whole city died in one day. I could imagine the shock of when the workers were uncovering the buildings and came across human remains.

Stopping people from moving forward, religion has killed many people and created this superiority complex inside peoples minds. It gives them a false purpose in life. I am surprised by the amount of newly uncovered rooms and items.. that were not shown when I was there with my two Buddies in 1973..I do however remember the Tiled dog at the front entrance step.. warning people of his presence when entering .

Maybe some people did leave out of fear, but we don't know how many. Anybody who left and travelled in the direction of Herculaneum, for example, would still have been killed and buried unless they had time to get beyond Herculaneum and round the bay towards Neapolis.

سنت اللاه التي قد خلت في عباده و خسر هنالك الكافرون }
