    I don't know what would be more emotional, (both in awe and saddness) when visiting this place. The fact it's 2000 years old but also that the whole city died in one day. I could imagine the shock of when the workers were uncovering the buildings and came across human remains.

      Syed Azmath literally your religion and most modern religions only cause hate and stone aged thinking. Stopping people from moving forward, religion has killed many people and created this superiority complex inside peoples minds. It gives them a false purpose in life. These people accomplished many great things without even knowing allah or Jesus or the Jewish god etc. These people should be respected they have made history and will be remembered for centuries unlike you and that’s something your god will not offer you. They got the closest thing to immortality where most wont be remembered for what they have done.

      Thank you. We spent much less than that (for two of us, for a train from&to Sorrento and a ticket each bought at the entrance). It's well worth seeing in person and some parts of the site that were closed when I shot the video may now be open, so you may see things that I was unable to film.

      Enjoy your trip! By the way, Herculaneum is smaller yet very impessive and can be seen in just half of a day if you do find some free time. Some parts of that site are better preserved than Pompeii. Ercolano (the site of ancient Herculaneum) is easy to reach by train or road from Naples or Sorrento.

    This is an excellent video. I went to Pompeii in 2000 and didn't see most of what you are showing. Made the mistake of going with a group and we didn't have enough time. Have to go back. We didn't see any museum. We were told everything was in museums elsewhere, like Naples. I wonder if this was created since then.

    On November 7th 2018, 101 religious fundamentalists, uneducated dudes and gals and probably some drunks who couldn't hit the like button properly dislikes this video.
    In other words, I love such videos which shows part of our history and especially like with Pompeii in such a well preserved state. You put together a beautiful and at the same time sad (for the then inhabitants) short documentation.
    Thank you for sharing this video with us.
    And to every religious fundamentalist who comes up with his hate, his narrow minded slurs I had to read too often in this comment section.
    Think about what YOU have done to the survivors (well in this case posthumous).
    But you know, you, the religious fundamentalists of EVERY monotheistic religion do this to victims of present day catastrophes too, so, here we are with an EXTREMELY important test of YOUR character and personality.
    What would your relatives and friends say if you get into a deadly accident or a catastrophe and everyone tells your mom, your father, your son, your brother, your friends who survived that this was a plan of god/allah/fsm to "punish" some for "sins"?
    Or truly THINK about what YOU would say to such a fundamentalist if YOU are the survivor and your good hearted and good doing relative (mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, granny, grandpa, friend, your favorite pet, the beloved animals) died in a catastrophe like this and this fundamentalist you encounter tells you, it was gods plan to punish your good hearted, good doing friend for alleged "sins" just for his misfortune to live in the area which was "punished" (read sadistically leveled) by the deity of your choice?
    Would YOU be happy about that, would you say?
    No 01: "Yes, my mother was a good doing person and good person but yes it was right to punish her! Long live allah/gawd/satan!!!"
    No 02: "What the hell, f..BLEEEP..k of with your sanctimonious and cruel things you've just said to me, don't you see I'm in grievance about the loss in my family?"
    If you choose No 01, it would just show your true personality.
    If you don't want this happen to you or YOUR relatives don't state such hateful comments ever again.

    Don't understand why they hung around when they had plenty of time to leave. If the rush of ash and gas was what killed them, then it means they has many hours to leave before the blast. They stayed even after the first stages. I would have wanted to be as far away as I could.

    • @DeannaAllison
      @DeannaAllison  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      They just would not have known what to expect. There had been a fairly severe earthquake within living memory, which caused damage to buildings (that was in the year 62) but nothing like the eruption in 79. Maybe some people did leave out of fear, but we don't know how many. Anybody who left and travelled in the direction of Herculaneum, for example, would still have been killed and buried unless they had time to get beyond Herculaneum and round the bay towards Neapolis.

      The sex capital of Rome? Maybe in your fantasy. There were brothels, but not much more than normally for a Roman city. What makes you say that it was the Roman capital of sex? Some serious hysterical study, or simply you are another religious fanatic that doesn’t know his own mythology and sacred book, confused Pompeii and Herculaneum (79 a.d.) with Sodoma and Gomorrah (Abraham time, more than a millennia b.c.), and to force the comparison convinced himself that the two cities MUST have been totally depravated to better match the myth, in a splendid example of petitio principii fallacy?

    During the time of Lot alaiasalama, the boy would marry the boy. That is why Allah has begun. Were all shattered.
    Which is a misconception of people today.
    May Allah forgive all.
    Save from all sin. Amin

    Incredible video! When visiting another city or country, every educated person must visit a museum. Visiting museums is very useful and fascinating. A love for the "eternal" and "beautiful" is awakened in a person, the beginnings of greatness and respect for history are inculcated. It is impossible to turn the excursion into something banal, ordinary and boring. The person should be a comprehensively developed person, cultured, educated, critically and analytically thinking, with knowledge of foreign languages. It is the knowledge of a foreign language that opens wide prospects for a person to realize his/her creative potential, career and financial growth. I would like to recommend the practical training course by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language", where you can find lots of useful information how to learn a foreign language quickly. Learn a foreign language and realize your creative potential on an international scale! The international community needs creative ideas! Thanks to the author of the channel for a very fascinating tour!

    Thank you thank you for your holistic work.
    May our CREATOR FORGIVES us and HELPS us and ENLIGHTENS us more and more.
    According to EL QURAAN : Most of the mysterious monuments all over the world belong to ancient Humanities who lived on EARTH before Actual humanity, because :
    1. Humanity is not immortal , there were many humanities in the History of human being.
    2. Ancient Humanities WERE more than us + More powerful than us especially in dealing with EARTH. Those Structures all over the World have a scientific impact on the EARTH , even statues.
    3.They commited the UNFORGIVABLE SIN : feeling themselves gods of the EARTH , gods of their life , gods of theirs bodies...SO refusing the Axial MESSAGES of our CREATOR :THE SUPREME OWNER OF every thing
    4. Every Damned Civilization Stays an EXAMPLE to the next humanities SO NO civilization can understand the sciences of the previous civiS and so on until the BIG DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
    5.We may face the same Painful , Shameful END of Ancient Humanities if we keep destroying our hearts and our Earth in the name of science or religion or freedom or ...
    { و لكل أمة أجل فإذا جاء أجلهم لا يستأخرون ساعة و لا يستقدمون }
    الأعراف 34
    { أولم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم كانوا أشد منهم قوة و أثاروا الأرض و عمروها أكثر مما عمروها و جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينات فما كان اللاه ليظلمهم و لكن كانوا أنفسهم يظلمون ثم كان عاقبة الذين أساؤوا السوءا أن كذبوا بآيات اللاه و كانوا بها يستهزؤون اللاه يبدأ الخلق ثم يعيده ثم إليه ترجعون و يوم تقوم الساعة يبلس المجرمون }
    الروم 10
    { أفلم يسيروا في الأرض فينظروا كيف كان عاقبة الذين من قبلهم كانوا أكثر منهم و أشد قوة و ءاثارا في الأرض فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون فلما جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينات فرحوا بما عندهم من العلم و حاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزؤون فلما رأوا بأسنا قالوا ءامنا باللاه وحده و كفرنا بما كنا به مشركين فلم يكُ ينفعهم إيمانهم لما رأوا بأسنا
    سنت اللاه التي قد خلت في عباده و خسر هنالك الكافرون }
    غافر
    { فأهلكنا أشد منهم بطشا و مضى مثل الأولين }
    الزخرف 8
    { ألم نهلك الأولين ثم نتبعهم الآخرين كذالك نفعل بالمجرمين ويل يومئذ للمكذبين }
    المرسلات 16
    { و ما لأحد عنده من نعمة تجزى إلا ابتغاء وجه ربه الأعلى و لسوف يرضى }
    الليل 20

    a translated version is never a holy version. I invite you to search about THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF YOUR HOLY SCRIPTURES. THE ORIGINAL VERSION of every MESSAGE FROM OUR CREATOR EXIST AND WILL EXIST UNTIL THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.
