Excellent Pastor/Preacher. He preach a sound theological message. He's also formally trained. He made it clear that he wasn't preaching against ANY denominations but clarifying what the basic fundamental and foundational understanding of what it means to be Baptist. He made it clear we all worship differently. Amazing. I'm Methodist, married a Baptist, attend COGIC churches and Word Churches. My friends/colleagues are pastors in all these denominations. The real focus should be salvation.

I love listening to Pastor Wesley. I have heard many of his sermons. However, Denominations are not important to God. You need to build your relationship with Jesus and focus on that as well as the Bible. He created one church. All this division was created by people.

A lot of people will miss heaven focusing on their precious denominations and not focusing on Jesus...Our faith is to be in Jesus Christ alone and not in any denomination. It's all about being a follower of Jesus Christ ..Because I don't care what denomination you're apart of. .. If you don't know Jesus and haven't asked Him into your heart...believe he's God's son and that He came and died for your sins on the cross..and if you don't believe that God raised Him from the dead ... if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, if you are not a hearer and doer of God's word and if you don't live holy...You will not see God...whether you are Baptist, PAW, COGIC, Methodist, non denominational etc..

A Christian denomination is a distinct religious body within Christianity, identified by traits such as a name, organization and doctrine. Individual bodies, however, may use alternative terms to describe themselves, such as church, convention, communion, assembly, house, union, network, or sometimes fellowship.

@cooljc09 This Baptist church is quiet, but not all Baptist churches are quiet. I was raised Baptist, but we praised more like we were COGIC. I am from Texas, so our definition of Baptist may be different. I know some Baptist saints that can probably out dance some COGIC saints. Really doesn't matter what denomination a person belongs to really just as long as praising God is central.

TY for Ministering a great word. I am grateful for your clips Pastor Wesley. I just want to add that when you say Baptists may not respond the same way the Sister responds...etc, I want 2 say when the Baptist witness a person receiving the outpouring of the Holy Ghost and the Spirit of the Lord God moving upon them & they speak n tongues & it is new to them please tell the "Baptists" "DO NOT CALL THE AMBULANCE"!! - This happened to me.

I see many comments about denominations and that there should not be one is trivial I guess, but like he said: Worship God the way you want to worship him!
I'm crazy about the Holy Spirit and running all around the altar and jumping up and down BECAUSE GOD IS GREAT AND GOOD AND IS THE CREATOR!! That's just me expressing my way of blessing God's name and praising him, and the way I may do that is in a pentecostal church, though many pentecostal churches are corrupt and false, when you go to a legit God glorifying church... Watch out! Phew I get so pumped up that way of praise God, the sermons are transforming and not just motivational. Yes we are all about Acts 2, but we love and know and cannot live without the rest of God's word. I mean it's foolish not needing all of God's word, you'll never get anywhere, you will never grow spiritually ever! Even though I can type forever, I'll leave it at that. It's okay to be any denomination I guess, as long as you do what God wants you to do now in the modern age, denominations will never go down until Jesus Christ puts peace in this world for ever. God isn't a denomination, he's God.

many people are focus and love on the words of man than in the words of God jehovah,we should always be of Christ than be of denominations,jeremiah17:5,9 jeremiah12:10,17 please check out very powerfully.we need to reprove, rebuk, and teach even what they failed to say, still a brothers or sisters.unfortunately the world continue a turn from God, every day we suppose to run to God not from God Jehovah.amem

The man is standing up for what he believes. Although Baptist by denomination, he preaches and teaches, Apostolic doctrines (Not from man-made; Apostic denomination, veiw point). He is still coming from the Bible, but there are certain practices that seperates denominations, but they all see the Bible from differant end of the spectrum. Just because I'm Black some one is different, would'nt make that race wrong because they are not like me, this is the denomination side. But if we are not doing what God said from the Bible we are wrong. It's not about the denomination, instead it is what's going on in the denomination that determines whether it is right or wrong; GOT JESUS and the BIBLE TRUTH? when all else fail; stand on the WORD of GOD ALONE!

Denominations are divisive. I can't imagine Christ being among us supporting denominations. Nothing but a bunch of man made junk. Somebody ain't get there way & started something. Somebody had a different interpretation & started something. Another didn't get to preach enough & ran started his own thing. If you really understand the body of Christ denominations sound so ridiculous. How one body have so many different parts. That thing sound like a mutant with all the growths.

Cedric R You're Right. There is no salvation in these denominations. Only in the church that's in your BIBLE. The Baptist, the Methodists, the Catholics and all the rest that started after Christ established his church cannot save you. Show me where he promised to come back for all of these man made churches that aren't in the scriptures.

Sooo you obviously didn't watch the video in its entirety because he preempts his sermon with a disclaimer that the series isn't mean to be comparative but definitive-He isn't saying Baptist is better. He just says what Baptists (especially at his church) believe (especially in regards to others )and He definitely mentions Jesus as the center of the faith. His interpretation of the apostolic/pentecostal or methodist faith might be a lil off but I know it also has some truth as I have somewhat experienced all of these...Let's not be critical saints-let's anxiously listen, learn, and be open to hear from GOD, then respond in love. Bless You Brother.

    • @BishopL.J.Rivers-D.Min-ThD
      @BishopL.J.Rivers-D.Min-ThD 9 ปีที่แล้ว

Jay L. Having been born, and raised Baptist, and being a former Baptist Pastor, and having been a graduate of a Baptist Bible College, and Seminary, and now being an Apostolic Apostle and Bishop, I know firsthand, that Baptist are experts of the Letter of the Law,but not the spirit of it...They embrace doctrines that are not consistent with the scriptures, such as three persons in the Godhead,Eternal Security, and many other non-biblical doctrines, like baptizing Father,Son,Holy Ghost, yet no where in scripture,do we ever see anyone ever being baptized that way...and of course the preacher being called "Reverend", when Psalm 111:9, states that Reverend is God's Name...Baptists have a problem with Apostles,Prophets, and Bishops, but use a non-biblical title, such as "Reverend"!!!! According to 1 Corinthians 12:28, God set Apostles and prophets in the church FIRST, he never set a "Reverend" in the Church !!!!!!!

uma7887 I speak in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, according to Acts 2:4. I speaking in tongues in church, at home,on the street,or whenever the power of God moves me. Furthermore, According to 1 Corinthians 14:2, "He that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men,but unto God: for no man understandeth him;howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." How is it that "Baptist" folk claim to believe the Bible, but yet have a problem with people speaking in tongues, and even forbids it in their services, when 1 Corinthians 14:39 says, "Wherefore, bretheren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues." ??????

Wrong, there is no scripture in the Bible that says an obedient believer has to, or will be able to speak in "tongues." Your misunderstanding of Acts 2 is that you don't know who's speaking, to whom it is being spoken to, the occasion, etc. You also don't understand in this context and probably all others, tongues is just a language not native to the speaker(s) of which the speaker never formally learned.

I was listening to your message about what Baptists believe when you said that to be baptized in the name of the father the son and holy ghost was the right way to be baptized your are wrong if you look at matthew 28 19 when you look at the word name in this scripture it is singular not plural you are not doing what the scripture says if you are baptizing in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost your sins have not be remitted only the name of jesus can remit your sin who is the name of the father the son the holy ghost its jesus acts 10 48 acts 19 3 5 acts22 16 colossians 3 17 your people need to be baptized the right way

baptism does not remit anything it is a symbolic public profession of faith
      and that is all

Jason Babbert-Messer what you just wrote is false..it is not symbolic..outward of the inward...it remits sin Acts 2:37-38, 22:16, it's how you call upon the Lord, it saves, it's the answer of a good conscious 1Pet 3:23no one other than the subject and the baptizer need be present so who are you outwardly showing Acts 8:34-38? It's the only way into Christ and his kingdom Acts 2; Gal 3:26,27.

Jason Babbert-Messer and I'm not right either...but the bible is, and as long as what I say/write comes from the bible, then that's right too.

I love the WORD, "In the beginning was the Word and the WORD was with God and the WORD was
God." " The WORD became flesh and made dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. " (John 1:1, 14). I'm just saying... Amen

His explanation of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral is not quite accurate either. We recognize scripture as the first and final authority for all matters of faith. The other points about tradition (teachings of the church), reason, and experience influence our theological perspectives about God, but they don't supersede or are equivalent to Scripture. Outside of that, I think he was pretty spot on

The Baptist church did not begin with John Smith but predates him to the Ana Baptists and those who existed in the primitive church.Ephesians 3:21 promises that the Assembly of Jesus Christ would be visible through out all ages. And that a Believers Baptism as practiced by the Apostles at the very beginning would be the distinctive feature of those who were the called of God according to His purpose in Christ Jesus. Also Baptists were far more evangelical than the existing denominations other than the Methodists perhaps especially which is also why Black people were mainly Baptist and Methodist even during the period the Pastor referred to. Baptists are obligated to no one other than King Jesus and his Apostles as taught in the word of God alone. Baptists have a special call and have always been thorough reformers! !) One God in Three Persons Father Son and Holy Spirit. the Creator of all that there is. 2)The Diety and true Humanity of the Son of God, 3)The virgin Birth through Mary. 4) The atoning suffering of Jesus to propitiate the Holy Justice of God on behalf of His people along with His passive obedience to the law of God which we have broken. Also His sinless humanity constituting His fitness to be our Sin bearer.. 4) The resurrection of Jesus from the dead. 5)The depravity of man and the need to be regenerated or made alive by the power of the Holy Spirit demonstrating repentance and faith. The New Birth to be exact.7) The free preaching of the gospel to all the world making disciples of all nations.8) The love and fellowship of the saints in assembling together regularly for worship teaching and instruction in the word of God and submission to one another in the fear of God. 9) That only those who have a credible profession of Faith and that manifest the marks of true conversion are proper subjects for waters of Baptism, that being Immersion, which is a symbol that indicates dying to sin and having been raised in newness of life.. These alone have a right to be received into the Assembly. 10) That a Church is an Assembly of Baptized Believers who have a true evangelical testimony. 11) That there are two Offices in the Assembly sanctioned by Jesus Christ the head of the Assembly. Namely the Office of Pastor or Overseer and Deacon The terms Pastor,Elder or Overseer are respectively the same Office. 12) That these Officers are to meet certain qualifications as recognized by the Assembly before entering into either of these positions. 13) The regular celebration of the Lords Supper which is a memorial of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. 14) That Jesus will appear a second time to judge the quick and the dead at the last day. 15) The resurrection of the body from the grave and the transformation of the body of all the Elect, while those who died in sin will also be raised to be punished for all of their wicked deeds. 16) That for those who are saved and love the appearing of their great Savior will enjoy all of the blessings of God in glory and eternal life. 17) That the wicked will be sent into that everlasting fire where their is no end to their suffering and torment. 18) That the Bible contained in both the Old Covenant and New Covenant Scriptures alone comprise the word of the Living God and that there is no higher authority to which man can appeal with no further revelation to be forthcoming. 19) That the Bible is God-breathed and is the infallible word of God sufficient for all matters of Faith and Doctrine. This is for the most part what a true New Covenant Assembly that we call Baptist is and always should be!

I believe in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 but I call myself a -believer- instead of focusing on a denominational title. The version of which you use has so many omissions and revisions it should be burned. I rather find out the -DOCTRINE- of which a 'church' (we ARE the church) teaches/preaches rather than their denomination. If people understood the definition of the very word 'denomination'...they would NOT use it! Most baptist churches teach we -must- be baptized w/ water...that's NOT sound doctrine!

Why do humans claim u can connect to "god" without churches and such , but then go ahead and group them self up and put lables and names on their groups like Baptist etc. , what a joke, all u need is "god" , no earthly groups or group names.

lastly because I am done and will not finish listening to your sermon, only Paul's writings from Romans to Philemon is for the body of Christ and you will NOT find Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter or whoever teaching the -same- gospel as Paul. Paul preached grace plus faith 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and nothing else while the others preached the gospel of the kingdom! Paul -is- the apostle of the gentiles and the believing Jews...wake up!
