Andy Biersack said that Gerard Way is our generation's David Bowie and he's so right. Gerard Way killing off MCR was like Bowie killing Ziggy. Now, Hesitant Alien is kind of like Gee's Aladdin Sane. I REALLY hope he has a career as amazing, creative, vibrant and long lasting as Bowie's because I don't doubt Gee for a second. He's a true artist through and through.
To be honest. I really enjoyed the song. I'm extremely excited for Gerard's full album release and to continue making music. Just like how I backed Danger Days when it came out and everyone was bitching about how terrible and different it was. Gerard gave a completely logical and understandable reason for Danger Days sound. Which is where I think he got the idea for Action Cat and maybe his future music. He's trying to rebel against the old MCR. Gerard didn't want people to keep thinking of MCR when it came to his music, so he made a different sound for his music. Gerard probably has many more reasons for Action Cat. MCR is my favorite band and it always will be, but Gerard and Frank are moving on and going solo. It's time for us to move on as well and treat Gerard as his own musician and not as the lead singer of MCR.
I never really understood the spazzing over Danger Days. It was different, but all MCR records were different. Their sound always progressed and it was always passionate. Conventional Weapons was kind of meh but it never became a full-fledged album anyway.
mcr is my favourite band too..but now Gerard seems so much happier playing the music he enjoys..and I think his new material is good too...can't wait for him to go on tour

This recording isn't so great but I can still tell its classic Gerard. He and Billy Joe Armstrong, to me, are the two biggest "heart and soul" guys in alternative rock. I like a lot of bands but those two are the best out there. I don't apologize for my opinion...but I will say if they are tied for top ( on my chart they are), Panic at the Disco take second. This is a great song. Title can't be beat, melody again classic Gee.....can barely make out a word he says on this recording but I think he knows a thing or two about good song writing so I'm gonna eat my Frankenberry and trust him. So I'm just listening to action cat minding my own business then i decided to read the comments and there are so many 'get over mcr' comments down here and im like 'yo you dont understand, my chemical romance impacted my life in a huge way and i never got to see them while they were still together (like many others). Being the emotional wreck ive been since i discovered doctor who (about four years ago), it WILL take me awhile to 'build a bridge and get over it', to find something else to stay alive for, to finally move on. And even after that, My Chemical Romance will still mean SO MUCH to me. They saved my life many times over.' I think I've stressed my point enough. I'm actually so so happy Gerard gets to break away from the "emo" sterotype of MCR, even though they were a great band. He seems to have more of his own style instead of just sticking with the MCR style because fans would flip if it was different from their old stuff.

To be honest, I love Gerard's new music. I don't really listen to music for the genre, but more so the sounds, so to me his new music sounds like mcr because of his voice and how unique it is. Gerard's voice was what made me fall in love with mcr, and the other stuff just made the love grow (yknow like franko and ray and bob and mikey, those babealades). To the people coming here just to criticize him: Cool, feedback is a good thing. But saying that you hate his new sound just because you want mcr back is just mean. You *do* realize that one of the reasons they broke up was because Gerard became depressed, and that was because fans didn't like Danger Days since it was so colourful and upbeat. Not only that, but he was proud of Danger Days, so to have a negative reaction to it was probably a bit crushing on the soul. Gerard did say, however, that he is starting to care less about what people think of him and his art. But no matter what people say or how much they try to ignore things, they still have feelings. So yeah, I like Gerard's new sound. Along with Electric Century, and the Cellabration, and also Ray's new ep.. My Chemical Romance was a great time, but nothing good lasts forever. When it ends you can't just bitch and whine. Be happy that it happened in the first place.

I love this song. It's a song that I can listen to hours to and actually handle. 'Make it and pretend and just don't care and pretend' it's a catchy song.. If you really listen 'do you miss me because I miss you'. It's a song that you can just listen to. It's also to me a movement song. It's a different feel than what "MCR" gave out. i've been a fan of mcr and gerard way since i was just 15 i think? their music helped me so much, and today i am 28... i lost my mother recently about 3 months ago and the fact gerard has sang songs like happy together and a carpenters song is probably like a dream come true for me, my favorite singer of all time singing the music my mother played for me when i was just a little girl and had grown to love, thank you gerard for always being there for me in life through music. you might not be with mcr anymore, but you never let me down...
this makes me feel alone, but with a lot of people. like there's a 100 people all in one room, talking and laughing and interacting, and they all are utterly apart from each other in a way they don't understand how to fix

I personally can't wait for hesitant alien to come out. MCR was a whole different chapter in his life and it's great that he's going it solo. This is pure Gerard and I didn't expect anything different. MCR's music reflected all the band members but this is Gerard's time so stop commenting saying MCR was better. True MCR fans wont care if Gerard changed the way the music is but that it saves lives. Instead if getting mad because he isnt doing the same sound as in MCR you should be glad that he is finally happy. The black parade was made during his depression and the álbum showed it. Gerard is happy now. He has changed so, so will the music.

i agree with that except from the move on from MCR part they will always be relevant and because of how amazing they were you can't really get over them I've only known about them for a week and i feel like I've been listening to them my whole life but i understand that they are broken up and that happens even to the best bands i give lots of respect to gee for putting his family first it was probably the hardest thing he ever had to do because that his second love beside his family but MCR was and is amazing and what the members are doing is amazing to be in a band for so long and then have to start over again is hard so mad respects to MCR they will live forever in my heart

So I'm just listening to action cat minding my own business then i decided to read the comments and there are so many 'get over mcr' comments down here and im like 'yo you dont understand, my chemical romance impacted my life in a huge way and i never got to see them while they were still together (like many others). Being the emotional wreck ive been since i discovered doctor who (about four years ago), it WILL take me awhile to 'build a bridge and get over it', to find something else to stay alive for, to finally move on. And even after that, My Chemical Romance will still mean SO MUCH to me. They saved my life many times over.' I think I've stressed my point enough. My point is, yes, we really should shut up about mcr while listening to Gerard's newer stuff, but just because we miss mcr doesn't mean we have to get over it. That will come in time.
But then again, I'm just a kid.

I'm actually so so happy Gerard gets to break away from the "emo" sterotype of MCR, even though they were a great band. He seems to have more of his own style instead of just sticking with the MCR style because fans would flip if it was different from their old stuff.

To be honest, I love Gerard's new music. I don't really listen to music for the genre, but more so the sounds, so to me his new music sounds like mcr because of his voice and how unique it is. Gerard's voice was what made me fall in love with mcr, and the other stuff just made the love grow (yknow like franko and ray and bob and mikey, those babealades).
To the people coming here just to criticize him:
Cool, feedback is a good thing. But saying that you hate his new sound just because you want mcr back is just mean.
You *do* realize that one of the reasons they broke up was because Gerard became depressed, and that was because fans didn't like Danger Days since it was so colourful and upbeat. Not only that, but he was proud of Danger Days, so to have a negative reaction to it was probably a bit crushing on the soul.
Gerard did say, however, that he is starting to care less about what people think of him and his art. But no matter what people say or how much they try to ignore things, they still have feelings.
So yeah, I like Gerard's new sound. Along with Electric Century, and the Cellabration, and also Ray's new ep..

I love this song. It's a song that I can listen to hours to and actually handle. 'Make it and pretend and just don't care and pretend' it's a catchy song.. If you really listen 'do you miss me because I miss you'. It's a song that you can just listen to. It's also to me a movement song. It's a different feel than what "MCR" gave out. I love this beat and lyrics more.& something that I found out that everyone would be excited to hear- is that Mikey Way(is the background vocals) on this song👍😁😎💜👌💉

i've been a fan of mcr and gerard way since i was just 15 i think? their music helped me so much, and today i am 28... i lost my mother recently about 3 months ago and the fact gerard has sang songs like happy together and a carpenters song is probably like a dream come true for me, my favorite singer of all time singing the music my mother played for me when i was just a little girl and had grown to love, thank you gerard for always being there for me in life through music. you might not be with mcr anymore, but you never let me down...
this makes me feel alone, but with a lot of people. like there's a 100 people all in one room, talking and laughing and interacting, and they all are utterly apart from each other in a way they don't understand how to fix

This is a really great song. I love it so much. To all those who are saying it's not the same as MCR - It wouldn't be, this is GERARD FRICKIN' WAY. I personally can't wait for hesitant alien to come out. MCR was a whole different chapter in his life and it's great that he's going it solo. This is pure Gerard and I didn't expect anything different. MCR's music reflected all the band members but this is Gerard's time so stop commenting saying MCR was better. MCR was different, not better. That is all.

True MCR fans wont care if Gerard changed the way the music is but that it saves lives. Instead if getting mad because he isnt doing the same sound as in MCR you should be glad that he is finally happy. The black parade was made during his depression and the álbum showed it. Gerard is happy now. He has changed so, so will the music.
