I use Chromes on an old Ibanez semi-hollow . I have P90s shaved down to fit in humbucker covers. Sounds divine! I thought the Chromes with your neck humbucker sounded dark and muddy, nothing like my experience with Chromes. Could be YT compression..... From my listening position, I thought the rounds sounded best with your pickup. I will say, Chromes take a while to break in and change quite a bit during the process. I only change them if I have to tear down the guitar for service.
thanks for your feedback. Yes, maybe the chromes need some time to get their typical muddy sound. They feel great. I haven't decided yet, which strings I'm going to keep on this guitar. Maybe I will decide spontaneousely before the next Gig.
