It seems that you were reading my mind. I love the two versions of ATMP, I do believe they are complementary. The new 50th mix gives some new textures & clarity which are hidden in the original 1970 mix. I was really curious when this new mix was announced in June and I must admit I was really excited. Growing up with the original mix I wanted to hear a kind of liberation in these new mixes from the reverb that seemed appropriate in 1970. After listening carefully the new mixes for almost a week I have to say that I appreciate the original 1970 mix more than ever! Regards
Thank you Joan..I appreciate your comments and thoughts..The original album is special for sure and like you, I like certain things about the remix..👍👍❤️❤️glen
Hi Glen, great video. I agree with you on vaccinations 100% ! When they announced the new rules upcoming in BC re the vaccine passports, registrations for shots jumped over 200%. REALLY ?! It took this to get people to get the shots ?! And you're right it has turned into a political discussion when it should be a medical/safety discussion. Good on you for bringing it up. Cheers from BC.
Wow..thank you and glad we are like minded..Looks like Ontario will be doing the passport thing as well..to be announced next week..❤️❤️👍👍just subbed your channel as well..glen

Hi Glen, congrats on crossing the 500 subs mark, very well deserved! It’s nice to hear an honest opinion on All Things Must Pass. I have no intention of buying the album for the simple fact I’m not that keen on it. I did play My Sweet Lord on youtube and really liked the fragility of George’s voice. The 1979 George Harrison album would be my favourite. With regards to the vaccine I can’t understand why totalitarian measures are going to be placed on those that are not vaccinated. The vaccine won’t stop you from getting or spreading covid, it’ll just increase your chances of not getting very sick from it. My view is if you want it, get it and if you don’t want it, don’t get it but be prepared to fight the symptoms if you contract the virus for they can be nasty. I, of course, am double vaccinated but it doesn’t worry me that people refuse to get it, unless they are elderly, as they won’t have the same anti-bodies to kick it’s ass. Oh, the chat last night was really entertaining. I enjoyed all 2 hours of it! Great stuff!
Thanks for promoting my contest and another great Rap Up. Since I don't have All Things Must Pass, I am now unsure to look for an original or go for the remix. I guess you could have asked the yard sale guy if taking it out of the sleeve made a big gash in the record. It sounds like his records are in suspicious condition. It looks like your thoughts on vaccines got you a couple subs. Take care my friend.

Hi Glen, You hammered rthe nail right on the spot: everyone has different ears, equipment and so on. Infeed very subjective. I likee this miv, I like the 2000 version and the original as well. Bt in my humble opinion ATMP would have been an even better album if it had been a (semi) acoustic album,, just with Ringo and Klaus, like John's Plastic Ono Band. But ..... it is just my opinion.
Neat review, I will disagree with you on Wah Wah, I thought it sounded stellar, possibly my favorite remixed track. I'm looking forward to next week brother!
I don’t understand where Bobby comes from when he expresses his concern about getting credit etc. he’s mentioned in the new 50th reissue. He gets his songwriting credit for some Apple Jam stuff too. I definitely felt like there was some hidden agenda somewhere. ALSO I’d LOVE to hear Gary Wright’s response to him

You gave a fair assessment of the Anniversary issue. I also thought there were some songs that came out better on this remixed issue and there were some that were better on the original and the 2014 remaster. The packaging for my 5 cd set was a disappointment. For the price point, the value for the money was not there. A larger box with a hard cover book would have been nice. I guess I was spoilt by the Lennon, McCartney and a lot of other artists deluxe box set packaging of their album reissues. Harrison's box set reissues, like his vinyl LP collection, are overpriced. As for Bobby Whitlock, he's entitled to his opinion, but I think he's bitter because he was not consulted for this remixed anniversary release. He was a paid session musician, the Harrison's or Paul Hicks have no obligation to consult him or any other musicians from the sessions. The same goes true for any session players on any other artist who releases or rerelease their work.
I purchased the original album upon release. Since then, I cannot say that the other Beatles rivaled George's stellar output of songs and jams. His lyrical content far out surpassed Lennon McCartney and Starr by a thousand light years. I didn't see much of your program. I disagreed right from the start and turned it off. Who in their right mind would criticize this album. On Sirius radio it is getting the highest reviews and it's hot !!! The interviews with the producer I heard him speak of how George and the band were absolutely in total control and performed so well together !! The engineering on that album back then was spectacular ! Now it is even more spectacular !! I highly recommend this album far more than McCartney, Lennon and Ringo or any other band for that matter !!
I don’t think anyone is criticizing the album..The debate is over the sound quality of the remix vs the original..It is not doubt this is an incredible album.
When it comes to music I'm funny Glen. I gotta have the original or a very close repress with no problems sound wise if it's vinyl I'm buying. Later remixes often don't sound "Right" to me.
