Not offended at all. You guys have worked really hard and deserve the level you're at. I recall when you were climbing up the ladder on the second landing getting shoes to ship. Then re-organization of photo shop area and inventory. Then the big move. You guys have done a lot and I am so very proud of you both. Embrace yourselves for me.
I enjoy watching ambitious people and how they work eBay. It's motivational for me even though I'm a hobby seller. Just selling to fund my buying! Keep the videos coming!
I agree with Zach. Get an extension cord to an outlet or something and run a string of LED lights. Ginger Marvin did something like that in their storage unit. It'll save on electricity costs. *I wouldn't trust taping them in place on that beam. It'll lose it's stickieness and fall eventually. Tie them in.
Thanks for sharing your progress. I have been watching you for almost two years and have enjoyed the journey. You are blessed with good friends and family who will help you. Ms Betty
So proud of you two! I’ve been following since you were still working your other ft job. Those that appreciate your work & content still support you bc we know how hard you’ve worked to get there & you show us that it can be done! Congrats!!!
YEAH for you guys! Many people have commented and I agree, you have worked HARD to get where you are at. It is wonderful to see people to succeed. There is always going to be Haters, let them hate. They aren't any fun to be around anyway. Stick with the people that are going to cheer you on along the way. The people that will rejoice in your success. I am soooo happy for you both.
I watch it on my phone while I do dishes, cook etc. When I vacuum, mow the lawn etc. I use an arm band modified for my wrist to hold the phone. That way I can glance at what I need to see and listen to the rest!
This was my problem, picked up a shipping label printer last week, got here today, working on my listings now as I have about 5k in old collectibles I'm inventorying and selling off to fund future purchases.. onward and upward
Amazing work done on the shelvings, reorganization, and just in awe of it all. You both have come a long way, so proud and excited for you both. Blessings
FLOOR!!! YIPPEE!!! There is no limit to what young, smart, ambitious people can do! Thanks for the giraffe view, and setting the bar a little higher for the other 95%.
Coats on Racks: when you store coats on racks like that, consider putting a piece of 6 mil thick plastic on top, draping down a bit over the shoulders on both sides. It will help keep the dust from settling on the collars and shoulders and doesn’t really get in the way.
Definitely big warehouse goals there! You asked about the coat hanging options. I like the idea of hanging a clothes rod under one of shelves so the coats are added to your regular sku shelf system 🤔
Aisle light: they now make LED 4’ fixtures that plug in to regular outlets and link together, so 3 or 4 can plug into each other, then the first one plugs into a single outlet. Our CostCo sells them.
Coats into shelving would work fine, you just need a way to mount a clothing rod and that could be as easy as bolting 2 end supports made of wood or metal, to hold up the rod bar. I’d suggest about the same rod height as a closet, so it’s easy for the ladies to pull items. Shelves above will help keep the dust off the collars/shoulders, just like a piece of plastic. I’d put at least 2 shelves below the coats for rigidity, and continue with standard shelves above. Also because big coats on hangers will be wider then a single shelf depth, I’d either put the clothing rods at the dead end of a row, so people and carts rolling past don’t constantly snag garments or brush against them or pick a portion of the new center row and use an area 2 shelves deep to recess them away from traffic.
For the clothes: Ask to person you purchased the racks from. A lot of shelving systems have clothes rod. It would look like a clothes rod the bracket would clip into the same spot that the shelves clip into.
About the coats - you might leave out some shelves (2 or 3) that can accommodate taller type items. Then obviously some type of heavy duty rod (pipe, wood etc) .
Going great! I appreciate your open and honest videos about scaling up. It is interesting to not only see what you’ve done but also to hear you brainstorm about future needs. Keep up the hustle! 💪
Hi, great to see your success and hard work paying off 👏 👍! You and Mek deserve all the success you get! Awesome job! Have a great week 😀! Joe Bee 🐝 from 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 Canada!
I wouldn't put the coats in boxes, but I would put some kind of cover over the racks. I've been watching you since the beginning and you guys have come so far!!!
Hey Adin, just buy some string lights. They are cheaper and you can zip-tie them to the racks, and you can just plug them into the wall. I have string lights in my racking and it is very good for light.
I think I'm in group 3, only high sell through rate items. 25 items up a day and 25 items out the door of my garage. No overhead. I've done the warehouse, but it just wasn't for me. Good luck to you guys.
Thanks for the continued info content videos. Could you take a wall from one of the interior rooms and make a double decker hanging space for heavy items? I worked retail, this was an awesome idea for maximizing space for inventory. Even for vertically challenged individual that I am at 5'2" it was manageable to do inventory from the higher hanging section.
Not offended just wasn't quite understanding your title, but after you explained it I totally get it and completely agree with you on it. I don't have the time or energy to do it on a large scale as you have done. I'm quite happy in the lower 95% club. 🙂
Do you ever worry you're growing too quickly? There is a big difference between what you list and what you sell. When will you stop growing and evaluate? I'd be worried about sell through rate. But if you guys are happy, more power to you! :)
Not offended at all, it is simply the truth! But you have made me get honest with myself, that deep down, I really just want to have fun (or at least that is how I'm acting!). I need to quit kicking off work early and buckle down on my schedule.
Your payment received notification sound is my return requested notification sound it's funny because that's a sound that you like to hear but I sound that I dread hearing
For some of us not in the "5% Club" it isn't just about $$. Some of us just enjoy going to thrift stores and Flea Markets and finding interesting stuff to resell. Furthermore, we enjoy the "buy super cheap and sell super high" finds unlike your "run of the mill" items.
I apologize, but I scaled down TH-cam due to a new job and missed out on when this business blew up. Last I watched, y’all were still going to Goodwill. How did so much happen in a year or so? 🤯
I'm inspired by you!! Your journey is so rewarding and I am proud of what you've accomplished! I have one question: I've noticed you are using zip lock bags, why are you using them and where do you get them from. Sending you a very big virtual hug , Maya :)
Nice setup with warehouse’ just need to be careful your not building yourself a slave ship with this type of Buisness model high vol/high costs/time intensive etc would be interesting to see how many orders your have to ship to cover all costs of this operation per month before you start to generate any profit
Wow thanks Edin, it's looking very good. Congratulations for all your hard work and success. When you say 5% are you referring to top gross sales (million $ club) or items listed (over 10,000?) or is it just 5% who work their asses off lol? What puts you in that 5% category exactly? Whiners gonna whine. Workers gonna work. I've been in the first category (part time and enjoyable) for some time now and watching you makes me want to get off my butt and get it in gear. Thanks again.
Good Morning Edin. I was wondering if y’all sell/Do Global Shipping and if so has it been worth it? Like do a lot of packages go Missing or people trying to scam more. Thanks for any feedback
Just curious if you have an end goal in terms of quantity listed, or if you will continue to grow into other warehouse spaces. Thanks for the great content!
This weekend I purchased a bunch of stick on puck lights/strip lights for my closet and cabinets dark spots.(I have lousy lighting and need to find stuff in the back of my cupboards and cabinets) There was a warning on them(LED) that they are a class 2 radiation warning. Meaning that you can't be looking into the lights because it is like looking into a laser and it will ruin your eyesight.(my research said sunglasses will not help) all that up and down on the ladder looking into the lights will happen. I would go with the hanging overhead lights like you already have. Don't blind yourself or employees. Please. Reply
Don't understand why anyone will take personally what you said. It is the regality like in any other business. ex. a hair dresser, the majority will just work for others and a small % will open their own salon..
WOW! from the last couple of videos you put out, seems as though you are getting quite a few naysayers on you back; Don't play into it and just try to ignore them or it will eat at you. Unfortunately we have to share the ugly world with ugly people and they are just jealous so don't allow them take up space in your world and zap you good energy...
Don't be offended but....I'm not sure it's much of a brag to have a warehouse full of so/so clothing with a average sale price of $20. You won't sell half of that and be stuck with a bunch of stuff that most resellers wouldn't bat an eye at. I saw your sales in a previous video and you do maybe 10-12k in sales a month and that's including shipping since you offer free shipping. Now I bet with the warehouse and employee expenses I don't see how all that work is worth the few k you make a month after everything is said and done. You would be better off working at McDonald's these days.
