Mixed feelings about this event, I’m local and the pushback from the locals has been so strong, Nothing but negativity and it’s all structured around the pricing system… It’s more expensive to get into this event than HPWW and you get no free entertainment, live bands nothing! Everything inside is an upcharge including crazy prices for rides for example… The booster is more expensive than the Speed 32 that’s come in from Germany to HPWW, It’s an outrageous cost BUT the showmen didn’t set the price, want to clear that up. They need to scrap the entrance fee completely and lower rides to £4-£5 MAX! that spinning coaster is more than Time Machine at HPWW too… I really fear for this event coming back unfortunately and I’m sad because here are the reasons why I like it It’s a beautiful event, plenty of space, well themed and a truly magnificent ride line up, Has everything from ice skating to a circus to a really well done Christmas maze and flying Santa. The good options are great! The staff are great, the location is good. It all comes back to that price point and people are struggling, This is Newbury not central London, Families are priced out of this event and it’s sad because it’s very good. Wave the entrance fee, lower the cost of attractions by £2 and it’ll stand a chance of success.
Right, don't they realise were all getting by with less money than we usually do. But i guess their overheads are up too.... Essentials too expensive to even entertain paying those prices.
I'm sure the event is run by underbelly who used to run edinburgh's christmas.. Knowing how much they charged traders and showmen to open there its no wonder the prices are sky high.

The Prizes are the big problem theese days. Here in Germany too. When you pay regular for 5-8 bucks for a short ride you think twice if you ride it. Here on the Streetsfair gives often a "Family Day" (mostly Wednesday), where the rides are cheaper. You can imagine those days are full packed then. But every booth has a special Family Prize or Offer, even on food and candy stalls.
Yeah, that's sad Andy... to see these nice parks. They must get subsidized by City Council, something maybe? Diesel trucks, flooring, ride set-up, crew… and on for less than a month… yeah, they can’t even keep all them pretty lights on! Still lovely to see, just feel bad. And… over charge rides for some money… just backfires, no one goes. Yeah, something helping them keep them lights on. Just nice to walk around for Christmas though.

Not going there, too far but even living nearby this has put me off. The big wheel, £28!!! for a family, that is outrageous. Money better spent on something else I think, presents eh? Mr Coaster, I am off to HPWW next week, and they also do the companion ticket, which includes entry, all the rides and attractions, even the cocktail in The Ice Bar, so everything is half price which makes it a very affordable day out.
nice vlog, .. its like our state fair here... costs $30 to get in and then the rides range from $10 to $20ea, food are really expensive inside, but that all we have. Aussie Aussie Aussie......
Good to see it's empty at those prices. It seems the last few years every venue and their mate has jumped on the winter wonderland etc bandwagon. To basically put a couple of over priced rides and sell as many sales pitches as they can
How much is the racecourse charging the showman rent for being there must be high 🤷🏻♂️. Looking at the event there as been a big out lay on the flooring and trees etc. Diesel,staff wages must be factor in everything.
