The views from above were really stunning. The monastery is very impressive in size, just like the gardens surrounding it. Thank you very much for all the information and the nice video. 👍
Tony: This video was super helpful to me and my wife. Thanks! We visited El Escorial on Sept 6th. Being able to review your video and explainations on getting there was execellent. You are so, so right on that hill up ftom the train station. Thank you again for this and all your postings, all have been etermely helpful on my Sapin vacation!! Matthew
Hello Tony and Cecilia! We are considering adding a stop at El Escorial, either on our way from Madrid to Segovia, or on the way back. We would like to do it by train, and per your recommendation I have been using the wonderful Trainline app. (Thank you!) But having no luck finding a train from Madrid (Atocha) to El Escorial using the link you provided, or Renfe's site. Am I looking in the right place?
Hi Craig, we recommend the Trainline for high-speed trains. In the case of Madrid-El Escorial, it is a local train, so you won't find it on the app. You can buy your tickets on the go. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal thank you, and keep up the great work. We recommend your videos to all our friends. Going to Spain for a month, and planned most of our trip using them!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal If I may ask one more question, do you have a video explaining how to get from Madrid Atocha to Madrid-Chamartin-Clara Campoamor? We purchased train tickets for Toledo to Segovia, and it appears we have to switch train stations, and have less than one hour to do so. I'm trying to figure out if that's possible, and how.

Hello Matthew, we are delighted to hear you had a great time in El Escorial and also to learn we were of help in your Spanish trip. All the best!
Absolute class video. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your words, Daryll.
Thanks for this! I wasn't sure whether to add it to our itinerary but this just confirms it :)
Great to hear that, Kathleen, El Escorial it's a very interesting visit and you will only need half a day for it. All the best!
Great info.
👍
thanks, as always a well informed easy to understand video.
Great to hear that!
Regarding the free entrance time slots: Looks like mother Spain has forgotten to include its faraway former colony once again - the Philippines.
Hey don’t forgot you can get citizenship in Spain in two years. Everybody else is ten. So they haven’t completely forgotten you!
Voy a visitar in Diciembre
Que tengas un buen viaje.
when you are there, you are in the 16th century, thanks Philip ii
Hi Tony. I want to say that you can film and take pictures in El Escorial, legally!
Indeed. Patrimonio Nacional (the Spanish National Heritage) changed the rules regarding filming quite a while ago.

@@CraigPalen thanks a lot for that!
@@CraigPalen don't have that video yet. In less than one hour, only if you take a taxi and pray for good traffic.

Why would anyone support financially, an institution that actively discriminates based upon a person’s country of origin? I’d have to give it a pass.
