Panasonic BR-2/3AE2SP BATTERY, LITHIUM, 3V battery is the OEM solder in unit sold on non other than Amazon. They also sell the battery holders for the button end version, BR-2/3A BR-2/3ASSP 3V . Take ur pick.

Thanks, I will order a new battery at once and change it to my 2247A! 👍🏻

The nice part about Lithium batt's is they rarely ever leak and cause damage. I did have some AA Energizers behave strangely and seem to "discharge" prematurely when powering some clocks I have ( they were in series for 3 Volts, one battery discharged, the other still had a good voltage) so maybe your single 3V battery was a better replacement in the long run, as I am betting the 2 - 1.5V cells in it were made to better tolerances.

I'm seriously thought about replacing the 3V battery in my 2247A as well. Thanks for a very good video showing the whole process. This will be a project in the very near future.
By the way, I replaced the battery in my Icom IC-7300 (HF/50 MHz transceiver) with a battery holder and two lithium batteries for ease of replacement down the line. I chose a battery holder that didn't have any conductive metal around outside so I could leave it on the inside of the case and not cause any shorts.

If the clearance is there, soldering to a cr123 is very easy! Maybe top mount is possible?

Hello is it possible to use a cr123a battery instead of the br2/3a? In my country the br2/3a is like 5x more expensive than the cr123a (both Panasonic). I could buy the br2/3a but if the other one is viable i would preffer to save thay money.

Can't see any reason why not - but it is up to you to check yourself and be happy it is suitable before you install it. Of course you'll need to check the size and you'll want the solder tabs on the end to solder into the board. Good luck!

@@audionautica6843 I hope there won't be any problems. However, none of the batteries comes with the solder tabs so yeah, I'll have to figure out what to do. Thank you sir.

    Hello great channel :)
What happens if you remove the battery and dont put in a new one. Is it only the memory function that is on the battery ? Can i live without it?

Yes, you can live without it. It will need to do a self-cal every time you power it on, and also you won't be able to save measurement set ups.
