Great Tutorial! My problem occurs at 12:50 I cannot get the pencil to brush over the letter to weave the initials; I have repeated the process and still cannot get it to replicate what you are showing - can you help? Thanks
Wow i really enjoy your teaching infact you are a very good teacher i promise to follow all your teachings, you have take you time and show each tools to use. May God Bless you
Good day! I get stuck again at 12:50. It says: Could not use the pencil because the smart object is not directly editable. What should I do? Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. God bless!
Perfect step by step instructions! I love how you point out where we are supposed to be looking! Thank you soooo much! I’m very much a beginner and this video has helped me out more than any other tutorials! Keep up the great work and I hope your other tutorials are like this. If so, I’ll be subscribing.
Great Tutorial, But I'm having trouble with the Pencil Tool. I made sure the Last initial was selected, and I made sure that the vector mask was selected, but nothing happened when went over it with the pencil tool. What do you suggest?
Hello there, Your tutorial on this subject was absolutely outstanding; and the results were remarkable. Not having that much experience with Photoshop, as well as working with a different version, I practice three times to to learn the different tools and follow your direction closely. Each time I've learned something new and finally accomplish my goal - My monogram logo with all the colors of my choice. My monogram logo really looks very excellent and professionally done! Thanks so very much!
I have a question when you intertwine the letters with my situation, the S is selected and hidden, then i select the G but it doesn't do anything, it's adding onto the white on the mask and not taking it away, how can I fix this problem?
Wonderful! Can't remember how to change the letters for future use. Each letter is opening up in a separate window. If I change the text, it isn't reflected in the final image. Can you tell me what it is I am doing wrong?
hi, I very much to Photoshop. I have followed your tutorial but some of the come of click on tools are same as you. I am using Photoshop 7.0. Are you using the same version for this tutorial. If not same please advise me a link for a tutorial using Photoshop 7.0.
How would you select an object and keep it active but hidden so that you could overlay the an object behind another one? Like you did at the end with keeping the "S" active but hidden so that you could blend the other letters with with it?
i have a problem when i try to select the letter S the selection doesn't go around all the letter, only the text not including the blending what i should do ??
This tutorial was perfect until is arrived to "the S is selected and hidden" point. Well, the S is selected and hiden, the layer mask of the G is selected, but the pencil don't affect any letter. How so?
Was wondering if anyone can help..I followed each step, however, when I control+click the bottom letter, then hide selection, I then select the top letter's layer mask and pencil the area I want overlapped, It doesn't remove the drop shadow too. So I'm left with a drop shadow of the top letter over the bottom letter where the bottom letter should technically be overlapped over the top letter at that point. Cant seem to figure out how to pencil out the letter and the shadow together.
Hey guys if your trying to intertwine the letters just do this Instead of "Normal" on the pencil tool selection, Use "Subtract". Use the marquee tool to stay on course. This will help you blend the letters together, something he doesnt mention in the video.
Sorry, but I had problems with being able to use the pencil tool. Photoshop is telling me I have to rasterize it, and when I do the pencil tool does not fade out the letters as I would like. Any help with how to get this going?
Absolutely loved your video and style of teaching - so much so that I wish to learn. But I am totally ignorant of all the programs I need to have to be able to Design a Monogram LOGO of Interwoven Initials. I do not have Photoshop on my computer. Do I only need to get the Photshop + Lightroom you advertise? Or is there more I need? I went on the Photoshop Chat and they said that I would need to get an illustrator?? Please let me know exactly what programs I need starting out from scratch, to learn this. I have Windows 7 Pro and 64 bit op. Please advise. Thank you.
Photoshop, in general, is raster-based, which makes images blurry if they're enlarged too much. If your intent is to print the interwoven monogram on paper (i.e.: stationery), then the interwoven initials should be converted into vector paths in Photoshop. Vectors can be enlarged to any size without degradation. To use the most recent versions of Photoshop, your computer should be running Windows 8 or later. My advise is to use the most recent version of Windows (Windows 10 as I write this). Keep in mind, there are minimum specs that your computer must have: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html The Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan is the way to go. All you'll need is Photoshop for most projects.

Just highlight a letter you want to change and type in the new letter. All the effects will apply to the new letter.
