This is really interesting. I think that pairing Watanabe with Gege Akutami makes this show great. Akutami has a unique way of drawing action scenes that convey the movement and force of a fight from the paper to the movie that runs in front of your inner eye when reading the manga.
BRO I HATE IT WHEN PPL IN VIDS OR COMMENTS R LIKE "OFC THE ANIMATION WILL BE BETTER IN X YEAR COMPARED TO X YEAR BEFORE THEN" LIKE BRO THIS SHIT DON'T WORK LIKE VG GRAPHICS😭😭😭
Looking frame by frame at how the rubble changes, I think it's not a 3d environment but really consistent background animation with a texture overlayed which is why it doesn't stand out like bg animation usually does. If you look closely you can also see the texture actually moving a bit faster than the linework during the spin
One thing I like about his style is there is a lot of speed, but weight to it as well. This can be attributed to camera shake working really well with his style
My favorite part about it is how hey makes the animation look like the Camera angle is changing and flying around the fight. It just uses the animation platform to it's fullest and looms so fluid and beutiful.
One of the reason's as to why you're one of my favorite youtubers is because how much you improve in terms of your video quality. Top notch stuff man keep it up!
I CANT BELIEVE IT so many times ive sed 'you keep getting better and better' but its crazy and true i love this new video, keepup the work this blew me away
Bro this video is lowkey hilarious, I was LOLing at multiple points. The part about people taking screenshots of screenshots and the image looking like absolute garbage was so true. And the Dwayne Johnson eyebrow part LOL.
It's interesting seeing that you took a new approach with animating your persona. I really like it as how someone else said that it's similar to animated storytime.
Love the quality of the vid. Funny, not using the funny mic (not often anyway), thinks through vids, and knows importance of breaks. I wish you and your quality channel success
6:27 I swear one of the most annoying things I come across is when people go “How is it that this was made [insert number of years here] ago and this still looks smoother than all of modern anime?” or “[Insert 80s/90s show here] has weird/bad animation bc it’s older.” Like come on, we weren’t cavemen back then and we aren’t robots now. A lot of the process is more streamlined today, but at its core it’s still the same hand-drawn method that’s been used for decades.
Hey, Great video, as always! Always good to see your animation analisys. One of the things I would love to see the most is my favorite anime-related youtuber make an analisys of the Naruto vs Pain fight, and the reason for that is because I see most people wrongfully say that the fight has awful animation, completely disrespecting the people who animated those scenes, so it would be interesting to see a profissional animation analiser like you say what he thinks, from a technical point of view, how good is the animation in that fight.
thanks and here's the full thing -th-cam.com/video/hHC3KJSSWa4/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=%E6%98%A0%E5%83%8F%E7%A0%94%E7%A9%B6%E9%83%A8%E5%BA%83%E5%A0%B1 the specific clip -www.sakugabooru.com/post/show/80337
Great video You explain everything clearly in your videos and it’s easy to follow. Keep it up man and could you do mahito vs nanami and itadori there’s a lot of good scenes in that fight especially the domain expansion scene
Additionally it is important to mention that almost every kind of combat in jujutsu is very close to what actual modern martial arts would look like. Instead of for example some punches with no front foot - back foot switch to include your bodyweight - this is very closely applied in the perspectives in the anime. Last time i saw this work was in aot
I feel like awesome animation and the quality of the production overall is 75% of the reason Jujutsu Kaisen is so hype and popular, the story itself it's pretty vanilla battle shōnen
I get that feel a lot from kimetsu but in jjk i've seen the story grow more into its own thing and stand out as unique in lots of ways. Granted it still makes use of many common shonen tropes xD.
JJK is great. Sure it makes use of pre-existing tropes but the way they are masterfully executed sets it apart from other works. Not gonna spoil too much but the Shibuya Incident Arc is truly built different
Hey forgotten relics I have an idea for a video I think would be perfect for your channel. I've pitched it in the comments before but I'm not sure if you've seen it so just let me know if you'd like to hear
youre doing amazing man. i 100% the effort put into th details of your vids. you deserve the subscribe...also remember to tell people to hit the bell and select "All" when they subscribe so they can see your vids when you post or they wont see them. you can be subscribed to 100 people but youtube will only show vids from like 5 of them...and vids from other people youre not subbed to that have similar vids
@@forgottenrelics1197 That’s fine. There are plenty of Fights in Bleach I think are worth a video. Such as, Ichigo vs Ginjo,Ichigo vs Oko, and Ichigo vs Ulquiorra(Hell Verse Version)
I just like that each smear like effect increases the speed of the action, as if it just gained a burst of motion from a drawing most people think is incorrectly used.
thank you for bringing up the "never pause naruto" stuff, I've had countless arguments with friends on why the animation is skillful and they always disagree lmao
If I want to find animation in a specific style, should I look for artists or studios? For some reason it never occurred to me that artists can, and do, move from studio to studio, so I was wondering which would make it easier to find what I'm looking for.
Could you do a comparison of the original hellsing vs hellsing ultimate. The first fight between alucard and anderson is a good one or the first "fight" with the ghoul in the beginning.
Hey forgotten relics can you do a comparison video of the jujutsu kaisen part 1 and 2 openings? Part 1 is cool and very fluid but part 2's is very wonky. I love to hear your thoughts on it!
While the first was defs a little more animated I don't feel the 2nd was wonky with exception to maybe a cut or two and well Natsume's work was excellent as always so I have no complaints tbh :)
Yeah that's 100% Watanabe and although I personally don't think the debris looks 3d here, he's definitely used it for effects before. An example is at 5:59

You should analyze animation from Pokemon, sometimes it really slaps
