Not 100% sure about the Kootneys but, in the Cariboo the cattle guards often separate ranges. The cattle run free, and blocks of ranges at fenced and cattle are required to be moved from range to range according to your range permits to prevent over grazing . I know you Island guys don't deal with open range often.

From my understanding the cabin was there so that the Olympic ski team could practice in the summer months on the snow on the glacier that is year round. Well, I have backpacked in more places than I can remember, including many in Canada and the views here are as good as anyplace I have been. This is my kind of overlanding. And yes the bridge was sketchy and if I were by myself would probably not have crossed. If you break into the cross members you probably would need some help from others to get out.
Question, was that a road or trail that switched back up to probably a higher lake. It looked like there was snow on it in places. If I had my backpacking gear with me, I would probably head up those switchback to that cirque above. If I got up there I would camp and spend a week or two exploring. Great video. It going to be hard to beat this one.

Not currently. This trip wasn't that far from town and we ducked into town to refuel after we left the first camp. It is something i'd consider, but I did find the ecodiesel has a lot more fuel left then the others. The thing with bringing more fuel, is everyone needs to bring more fuel, and if you one or two rigs don't then your heading out to a gas station. Or in my case, no one brings extra diesel haha.

Where can I find maps that show trails in that area. I searched and did not find much. It appears the US-Canada border is still closed to tourism. The Canada customs border website has become more vague in the past month

No land or sea traffic at this time. The glaciers are in the Kootenays. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Casey 250 that’s what I thought. I have the diesel UL too. Love it. Will be interested to know if you have that issue again with your throttle.

We were guests in the area, which is about 12 hours from where we live, but FYI the local guys are already working on fixing it. By the way, it's illegal to repair it for liability reasons, but they're gonna do it anyway because their just good dudes.
