Hi guys in all of my years I have never ever heard of chicken steak. I heard and have had Chicken Fried Steak and have enjoyed it many times. I have tried it breaded or coated with flour and includes a gravy topping. Always respectfully. Love u guys❤️
I've worked in lots of food service and I am a home cook as well and I have only heard of chicken fried steak. Which is not chicken at all, just uses the same breading technique
I'm with you. Near as I can tell from the video this has a VERY light breading and I'd wager the marinade is onion, green chili, cilantro, garlic, ginger, thyme, vinegar. I'd wager the remaining marinade is cooked in the same pan while chicken is resting with just a touch of cornstarch to make the gravy. I don't know if I'm right BUT I'm putting this on my menu.
Wow, I didn't know they don't have broccoli in Pakistan. Our friends didn't know what it was, that's funny. You can tell our doc that broccoli is very good for our bones 👍

@@jamiemiesler322 Isn't chicken fried steak a beef steak that is fried in flour like a chicken? The chicken in the video is more akin to Grilled chicken.
People are saying it looks like grilled BBQ chicken which seems right. Vs breaded fried steak either chicken fried with white (pork) sausage gravy that would have issues there, or country fried with brown or red gravy that should be ok.
I'd never heard of chicken steak either, but I do recognize what they're eating as typical food like I had growing up in suburban Virginia--grilled chicken breast with a bit of sauce or glaze, and some veggies. We probably had something like that at least once or twice a week (usually with Rice-a-Roni or something like it, lol the 80s) and I still make it pretty often now. We never called it chicken steak, just chicken, but the name makes sense--steak usually refers to beef, but it can be any thick piece of good-quality meat, like a tuna steak or a lamb steak. And a bit of googling turns up recipes for it from India and Pakistan that refer to it as an American dish. Which it is! They probably just added steak to the name because it sounds more American that way, like how they call chicken sandwiches chicken burgers.
This was my family too. Healthy meals with plenty of veggies. I still love Rice-a-Roni. I made it a lot for my kids. I often add leftover meat and vegetables to it to make a new main dish. I was raised to NEVER waste food. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Happy New Year!!!
Well then, apparently you've been eating chicken "steaks" your whole life... Sounds odd to you and me, but especially me.. Personally, the word "steak" has no place in chicken reference..
I'm thinking it's a translation/language thing ... maybe the word "chicken breast" would be offensive to these people. I know there are words that mean something a little "extra" in other languages ... like the word "mouse" in Swedish is a euphemism for a part of the female anatomy as is "fanny" in the UK. So, 'chicken steak' it is!
I love these folks. If I was a person with money I would get them to physically go and experience the countries whose food they are tasting. It would be amazing to see their reactions to what we westerners take for granted as normal

Nice to see the use of silverware. It would be cool to have chef go to their village and make a community dinner and breakfast for the people who live there. Happy New to you as well.
I think you all are thinking of chicken fried steak which is breaded and fried, then covered in a creamy white gravy. This just appears to be like a grilled barbecue chicken. I even googled just chicken steak and there's no such thing really 🤣 There is a Cuban dish called bistec de pollo a la plancha which translates to chicken steak but this barbecue chicken you served isn't it.
Put the fork in your weak hand, use it to pin things down, knife in your strong had to cut your food, then use the fork to pierce and put the food in your mouth, or as a scoop or use fork as a palette and the knife as a trowel to gather up loose foods.
It should be "Chicken Fried Steak". The dish presented to the villagers is totally incorrect and has nothing to do with the actual dish. I understand that there are dietary restrictions for these villagers, however, if the presenter is going to serve them an alternate food item, they need to explain why it is different and not the authentic dish. I find many inconsistencies in these food presentations and the villagers (rightfully so) either dislike the sish or do no have a full understanding of what and why they are eating.
Chicken fried steak is cube steak, (beef tenderized), floured and fried in oil for only minutes...very quick to cook. Served with gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a roll
Chicken fried steak is a beef steak that has been tenderized then coated with a seasoned flour and corn meal mixture .then it's either pan fried or deep fried in oil. Its served with a peppery milk gravy. If you have it for breakfast it comes with eggs, hash browns and biscuits or toast. If its supper it comes with any style potato you like, A salad or soup and cooked vegetables. With a bread roll or biscuit.
What you gave them looks more like chicken parmigiana. That is in a red tomato sauce. If they are eating fried tomatoes they should be green unripened tomatoes dredged in corn flower then fried in butter.

I’m guessing the sauce is what makes this steak amazing. You said it’s an international dish. Which countries serve this? It looks delicious.
I don’t think any single country claims this dish, it’s just chicken breast with some sort of sauce. They call it steak to make it sound fancier 😂
@@Utoob8 well it sure looks tasty!
@@Utoob8 Maybe "descriptive" rather than "fancy" even though we wouldn't call it a steak like I don't call a chicken sandwich a "chicken burger" but they're not wrong if you think about it. You know what I mean?
@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 Can you please tell the difference between a Sandwich and a Burger, I am really confused
@@ravikantrao3019 There's really not much difference, that's my point. If I was from a place without western food, I'd call it a chicken burger or steak, too, probably.
We always called it chicken cutlet. Thin sliced breast dipped in eggs beaten with a fork, coated in flavored bread crumbs, fried to a golden brown. Never added a sauce but served with flavored rice and/or veggies. Glad these gentlemen had a taste of broccoli, one of those "love it or leave it" veggies. I so enjoy watching them experiencing new things and hearing their responses. They never fail to put a smile on my face. I pray for them daily.
Damn it ..can't hold the fork & spoon, never heard the names of the dishes.
but On & on with 1000 advises.
Those other afghan folks are so humble, pleasure to watch.
Love you guys, soo glad I found this channel! I can't stop watching! Happy New Years to you my friends!
Happy New Year to all the amazing TPT folks!
i lost my home today. thankyou for uploading it always makes my day. one day ill learn your language and visit your beautiful country
Props to the chefs always making it so good and beautiful
This was a complete really nice meal that had tomato lettuce and broccoli with the chicken. I love seeing my four favourite gentlemen served a full plate of nice food. Thank you!!
Thx for another great video and it's nice to see them enjoy it.i thought it was boneless chicken breast with BBQ sauce. I've never heard it called chicken steak.looks yummy tho
Please wish our friends here a happy new year and may the new year be blessed for them and their families and for the productions crew, may your channel grow and keep growing, God bless!!!!
God bless our Pakistani friends and their families in this New Year. Peace and love to all
Chaudhary Raffique was so sweet when he said how he's learned to use a knife and fork but isn't yet an expert.
Please tell me that they get to share these same foods with their families. May God bless you and keep you through this new year. Love these videos.
Happy new year my friends! I love to watch your reactions to new things. God bless you in the coming year!
1:12 Spot on. Broccoli is in the same family as cauliflower
Put the fork in your weak hand, use it to pin things down, knife in your strong had to cut your food, then use the fork to pierce and put the food in your mouth, or as a scoop or use fork as a palette and the knife as a trowel to gather up loose foods.
Muslims eat with the right hand, so the hand which brings food to the mouth is the one that holds the fork.

Maybe have them try country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy. It would be fun to see them try Chinese food too.
Chicken fried steak is cube steak, (beef tenderized), floured and fried in oil for only minutes...very quick to cook. Served with gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, and a roll
Happy New Year to all of you on this wonderful channel!! Looking forward to the New year with you guys!!
Flour
It's great to see you all enjoying a meal and not just chocolate all the time. Doc knows best!, eat more veggies👍🏻🕊🇬🇧
Love this channel! Please explain too them that most food is only spiced to a certain degree. The final spicing is left up too a person tastes. Wether it's as simple as salt and pepper, oregano, paparika, or other spices, and then provide them with at least minimal choices to suit their tastes..
Looks like we need “Tribal people try broccoli”!!
no. this is how we end up with bad videos like chicken steak. chicken steak isnt even a thing
@@michaelallen2971 No, but broccoli is.
Cream of broccoli soup.

"This is meant to come with a drink" Man knows his white wine foods.
Chicken fried steak is a Southern favorite. It's steak, breaded or coated in flour an fried. It's served with gravy!!!🥰
That’s just a marinated grilled chicken breast.

I think at this point we can say Rana Nadeen could visit the United States and have a great time.
Happy New Year to all of you! Have the gentlemen ever tried different soft drinks? Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Mountain Dew etc. many different types would be interesting to know what tastes good to them.
Happy New Year guys!!
Prayers for health and prosperity from your friends in the USA.
I love these humble people. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏god bless you.
