We set out to try and make this look like 35mm film stock from the 80s hence the grain, dust, scratches, flicker, etc. Not to use pretend tracking issues, snow, tv scan lines, or chromatic aberration like you typically see when people online are 80s-ifying their stuff. I wanted people to know we weren't just going to slap on a VHS filter like I've seen many places like instagram, snapchat, etc. Also note that when one uploads to youtube, their system tremendously downgrades the sample rate/quality and also tries to "fix" video that appears grainy. So the actual video looks a bit better than this and lends itself to the film aesthetic much more.
