1:02 Johnny Gilbert is still announcing for JEOPARDY! in his mid-90s! 3:15 I thought I heard a note from THE LUCY SHOW theme at the end of the Pledge commercial, and there was a new episode of that series aired on Monday, March 25, 1963.
I can’t see the later generations living this way. No color TV. I was very young living through this time. That’s the way it was and we lived through it.
Just like people did in th early 1950s when they would visit the bar or friend's house who already had TV before they had one, they did the same with color TV (and later on with cable/satellite TV). You truly had to be there to understand how impactful TV was evolving, similar to how my generation appreciates the golden age of the Internet before social media changed everything.
Outside of perhaps shopping at luxury locations where there is lots of merchandise in the high four figures and up, its pretty much a lost art. But its hard to believe that back then, even at the five and dimes, people dressed to the nines.
The demonstration that Klear dries "clear as glass - never yellows" didn't really work well in black & white. But this hung around till daytime TV shifted to color, when that section of discolored glass could be seen to be actually yellow.

"The (original) Price Is Right" moved from NBC in 1963 after seven seasons to ABC, and when that popular game show switched networks, Johnny Gilbert was the announcer. That's likely where he was shilling that floor device.
In the Chiffon dishwashing liquid ad, that sounded like ABC New York announcer Scott Vincent, God rest his soul, doing the voiceover.
