Great comparison. If Hasbro had just given the Legends version a wrist hinge and working leg holster that would have made for a slam dunk.

Sculpt, Paint and Detail wise: Marvel Select Wins in every way
Articulation and Scale: Marvel Legends Wins
My Biased Opinion: I collect more ML than MS. I'd go with ML Agent Venom.
My non-biased opinion though: I'd go with Marvel Select.
The select one looks off to me, he looks too skinny or something, but other than that I think he is better than the legends one with better paint and sculpt.
I didn't think that when I first got the MS one but next to the ML one now he does look a bit anorexic
Glenn Webb how do you film the parts when you compare the articulation do you film them and then put the video side by side and then add thevoice?

Interesting to see you do ML vs MS. It is an odd thing to do since they are completely different lines, as oppose to ML vs *insert something* classics which are basically the same thing. I honestly like the ML version more cause the MS version looks too skinny and doesn't really give an armoured feel to the figure.
I agree, I like the detail in the MS and the use of the grey paint. But the ML has the bulky look of body armor and I prefer their head sculpt.
Thanks Glenn! I just picked up MARVEL LEGENDS AGENT VENOM at WALGREENS today! But I'd love to have that MARVEL SELECT because I'm more of a displayer than a poser so for me sculpt and paint beat poseability. But with these two figures it's almost like they're both good in their own right. I need them both!

I love both figures Legends has lot of accessories and collectors have the detail in the figure I wonna buy both cuz I'm a huge Agent Venom fan

I definitely prefer the 6 inch scale as well but the Select figure looks considerably better for this character.

Glenn Webb the Hasbro body you said was from Ultimate Cap (which is true) goes all the way back to 2006 with the Face Off Punisher. It should have been retired ages ago.

I would have to go with the Marvel Legend Agent Venom based on scale and tendrils. I could spruce up the guns if I wanted to later. I usually love Select based on sculpt and paint apps but in this case Agent Venom select is a bit hard to find and too pricey. Thanks Glenn!
I have both, but after this review I have to say that the symbiote tentacles accessory really puts the legends one on top for me here.
The added ability to have the tendrils be able to hold his guns shows some really neat (and very appreciated) attention to detail from hasbro.

I owned the Select version and it was a great figure. Marvel Legends are nice and they have a bigger roster but for sculpt and articulation and price here in the UK I would have to say Selects are better. I know earlier Selects suffered with poor articulation but the last few years they have drastically improved.
I'd say select since it is more ascetically pleasing and the articulation didn't really wipe the floor with anything from the Legends one. Yeah the tendrils are pretty sweet, but to me the legends one looks a little to messy for my taste while the Select is a masterpiece of sculpt and originality.
I love the select. That being said when I first got into serious collecting the legends av was the hot ticket item so nostalgia is there too.

I prefer the Marvel Legends one. But it's going to be impossible to find in stores in Britain. So that means ordering it online for probably a lot more than retail.
Hasblow's has a neat idea with the tendrils, but I find that sloppy paint applications, missing details, cheap plastic and constantly reused molds are unacceptable. I'm not a child I won't buy something that feels too much like a toy. Select's is freaking sweet!!! Who doesn't like fantastic sculpts, clean paint apps and great quality? Select's prices are $25 and Legend's are like $20. That seems a little messed up! I would collect Hasbro's figures, but in my eyes it's not worth it.
I perfer the Marvel Select because I like it when the figures are specialy sculpted after the comics and don't have reused parts. I also like it when the paint is applyed cleaner. I also am a fan of 7 inch scale so it's very reasonable in my case why I perfer Marvel Select in general and the fact that both have an equal articulation is definitly a point for Select. I hope that I didn't write something wrong.
So tell me if I did. English isn't my first language and I still want to be good in it just because I like it very much.

Joseph Huntington Well thank you. One year later, different account with same name and profile pic (first account got lost for a while) and I gotta say that I really did do well.
Though reading it now, it seems a bit too much like the school English then the a bit more fluent English I write and talk now.

Legends is the one for me, not only is the articulation better in the legs for better crouched action poses but also with the white on the shoulders and the different head sculpt and the white deco on the chest not being symmetrical is much more accurate to the comics that I have in front of me as a reference as I watch this plus I love it when figures come with a bounty of weapons for use with the ones that don't come with any like black widow :)
I dunno, really depends on the size of the time capsule, because the MS figure might not be able to fit. :D
Legends gains in articulation , but loses in sculpt
This id a tough call as I wouldn't compare these two as I prefer the Legends line, but I appreciate the Select line. The Select line is more detailed with less articulation, more of a statue line with some articulation. Select line always look pretty and most figures come with great dioramas or some type of nice stand. Id say both are hohum for their line. The Marvel Legend line has much more put together figures as far as quality, its like they really rushed this line out the door.... and the Marvel Select figure is fine, but nothing to write home about. So overall, they are both equally decent... but in the end, id prefer the Marvel Legends line only because thats line I have in my collection and have no select line figures...
I would want the select one way more the guns and sculpt and paint apps are fan freakn tastic and it kinda had the same amount of arictulation as the ml agent venom
Agent Venom reminds me of Snake Eyes. I remember the Sigma 6 figures. I wish Hasbro would release a G.I. Joe Legends line.

i like the smaller one because it is better and its not covering its neck
For me I'd go with the ml version. The surface sculpting on the ms version is nice, but that to me is less important than the proportions and posture, which I think the legends figure achieves much better. The paint on the select is definitely better, but that's fixable in a way articulation isn't. I'd side with the ankle rocker. I also don't care for the revolver that the select figure has. I don't think it suits the character at all. Then the legends figure has those awesome tendrils!
i'm going to get both so that way i can put MS Agent Venom's revolver with the ML Agent Venom.
Marvel Selection has better textures, while Marvel Legends has better visual balance.
I wonder if combining t the 2 would be possible?
I dont know, i would usually take marvel select over marvel legends, but it seems as they are equal in details, legends has some things missing here and there but i dont mind, but what really gets me going is how scrawny and tall Agent venom select is, it just seems weird knowing that symbiotes are usually buff, while the legends is buff and bulky. I also dont like the selects long neck and some the select doesn't appeal to me. If i were to choose i would choose marvel legends over select any day, in the end they are very similar figures with minor details here and there but it doesn't matter, legends beats select this time.

I have both and IMO there is no comparison. The MS version is vastly better.

You could make a really cool custom Spider-Man that is being taken over by the symbiote by repainting a fair amount of the body from the Legends Hobgoblin BAF wave to look halfway black and plugging in the tendrils from the Legends Agent Venom into the hole in Spidey's back. *wink wink*

i like the big one
I just dislike the body shape of the select one compared to the Legends, as well as the weird long neck.
I personally preffer the MS one :P sure there's less articulation and he looks a bit too skinny, but his paint details are far superior. The rubbery coat over ML's chest looks too bulky, his permanently attached gun to the holster is a letdown, and, most important of all, the asymmetry... THE ASYMMETRY, DUDE! ML's paintjob is so sloppy, his face looks all messed up, with white paint bleeding from his eyelines, applied in an asymmetric way... my OCD would attempt to kill me every time I'd look at this figure. I would kinda let some sloppy paintjob pass in his chest or shoulder pads, but messing his face is a deal breaker for me

No. But if you saw my ML Agent Venom review I briefly compared it with the MS one so maybe that's what you're thinking of. Somebody saw that review and asked for a more in depth comparison so BAM here it is!

Walgreens having Agent Venom as their exclusive figure is a most bizarre choice. When they choose an exclusive MLP figure, it's a white Nurse Pony. Yet instead of choosing white Anti Venom who heals people, they choose Agent Venom. WHY?

I like the ML Agent venom
I prefer the MS it's a whole new figure not something put together from old figures.
Legends one has the stockiness of agent venom hike the select one looks like....anorexic I mean he is trained in the military and he looks like that.But Select one who's in the paint and sculpting Both have decent articulation but I think I more comfortable with the legends one.
