Big tip for you also is to take a q-tip and poke it up and around the nozzle of the machine. You'll be surprised what you find when you take out the q-tip. Repeat several times with a clean q-tip. until clean.
It depends how often you use the machine. But I’d say weekly if you use the machine everyday. Keeping it hygienic and clean is beneficial for the longevity of the machine!

Please if you can either compost the plant pulp or use it in recipes rather than dispose of down the sink
