S: Eldorado/FTM/ANWR/OOTB/Discovery/ Time/ Secret Messages double album/ Balance Of Power/ Zoom/ Alone In The Universe A: ELO II/OTTD/Xanadu/From Out Of Nowhere B: The Electric Light Orchestra C/D: - I love them all!👍
Well done! I especially appreciate that you picked out some lost gem/deep cuts among the band's best. (Laredo Tornado and Nightrider - both stunners.) And Face The Music is one of my fave albums of all-time by anybody.
1)Time 2)Out Of The Blue 3)A New World Record 4)Discovery 5)Eldorado 6)Face The Music 7)Balance Of Power 8)Secret Messages 9)On The Third Day 10)ELO 2 11)Alone In The Universe 12)Zoom 13)From Out Of Nowhere 14)The Electric Light Orchestra Time and OOTB are both in my top 5 albums of all time.
ELO’s fortunes started to change when Jeff introduced the excellent vocalist and bassist Kelly Groucutt starting with the Face the Music album. Their signature vocal sound was established with that album, through future albums, and ended when Jeff jettisoned the string section and Kelly quit the band in the middle of Secret Messages.
I would revisit Secret Messages incorporating the omitted tracks from the original double album. It’s available now in it’s originally conceived format.
Eldorado is absolute Jeff Lynne genius! The album is as good and fresh today as it was almost 50 years ago. It has given me countless hours of auditory bliss and is my #1 ELO album!
S: El Dorado, Face The Music, A New World Record, Time. A: No Answer, On The Third Day, Out Of The Blue, Secret Messages (the double album version would probably make S). B: ELO II, DiscoVery. C: Balance Of Power. Not familiar with the later albums.
No question in my mind, Eldorado would be my favorite, 2nd Face the Music, 3rd Electric LIght Orchestra II, 4th On the Third Day, 5th No Answer (Also known as their first album) 6th Out of the Blue, 7th New World Record. I like their earlier recordings that had the progressive rock flair. I always bought those LPs within the first month after they were released, ELO was one of my favorites back then. No Answer came out nearly the same time as Message From the Country by "The Move" another very good recording, Bevan, Wood and Lynne were in transition at that time. What really puzzles me here is why you did not include two other recordings that the Electric Light Orchestra Part II made entitled "Electric Light Orchestra Part II" and "Moment of Truth". These recordings did not include Jeff Lynne and were released on independent labels in the 1990's-2000 time span. The line up on one or two of these recordings were; Bev Bevan, Mik Kaminski, Kelly Groucutt, Eric Troyer, Louis Clark, Phil Bates, Pete Haycock and Neil Lockwood. What actually lead me to this You Tube video was looking up some information about the death of Richard Tandy (R.I.P.), good memories of his contributions to ELO back in the 1970's.
The only one i disagree with is from out of nowhere, i would but it in A, i thought it was a pretty strong album and the opening track (From out of nowhere) is one of my favorite ELO songs, idgaf what anyone says I know you're entitled to you're own opinion and all but i just had to say it
1 - Face The Music 2- ELO 2 3 - Eldorado 4 - The Electric Light Orchestra 1st 5 - On The Third Day 6 - A New World Record Afraid their albums lost me after A New World Record....too sugary and lightweight for my taste. I thought they peaked with Face The Music.
How funny. Their first album is my absolute favorite of their discography. 10358 is very good but the weakest song on the album. 1) elo 2) eldorado 3) on the third day 4) a new world record 5) face the music 6) elo II 7) out of the blue 8) discovery I like but not love the rest

Eldorado is king
A New World Record is my favorite. Although I like most all ELO albums, ANWO just has everything I want in an ELO album.
@@Buckeye_4_Life_ it's a brilliant album from start to mind-blowing finish

Hello.
Where is it the album " Xanadu ".
Very bad video.
Xanadu is a soundtrack album split between ELO and Olivia Newton-John, so it doesn’t count.
