Yay! In my experience, initiative builds rely on good attack and initiative. The idea is to go fast and kill fast, rather than absorb blows then counterattack. Also, you may be surprised by how useful resilience is for such builds.
@@CarveaHole If my brother has stars in defense, I will take mdef on every level up. But if no stars, then often I will skip the 1s. Those characters can either sit in the backline, use a weapon like a mace/cleaver/whip which has some CC potential, or you have to be very careful about positioning and try not to let that brother go in a dangerous position. You can also make a pure dagger spec bro with shield spec out of such bros to make up for their low defense. I often skip underdog, because dodge will compensate for this. Even if your character goes down to 70 initiative (I assume you have relentless), then that's +10 mdef, which is often better or at least equivalent to underdog value.

I try to shoot for 110-130 after gear. Remember the hyena pelt and potions can buff that up even more. 2. The strong trait gives +10 hidden initiative, while fat and old both give an additional -10 hidden initiative. 3. You are much more vulnerable to debuffs that you probably haven't even noticed before (stagger, the -initiative from goblin poison, the -initiative from daze, etc). 4. Until you get relentless, you will need to strongly consider ending your turn without waiting. That can be a difference between an easy win and dead brothers.

I hear people talk about what bros skill points will be later but I don't know what later is. Is there a max level? Is there a cap one bro can get in a skill point? I am quite trash in understanding the numbers.
@@madfking level 11 is the last time you get rolls for stats. For levels 12-33 (33 is the cap) you always roll +1 for everything. Thus, there is a soft cap on how high your stats can go cause you won't be going much beyond their level 11 numbers. bbplanner.xyz is your key website for looking at projected stats, if you didn't know

That character "Helmer," the thief with 3* initiative is insanely good. This is basically a somewhat worse version of my "Geralt" from my Beast Slayers series. I consider is a DPS character with the option to have a shield in the pocket to tank. It'd be a shame if he were made into a pure tank.
@@CarveaHole even someone like FilthyRobot was always playing on Beginner economic difficulty because it was so tedious. Kind of just says that the setting is poorly balanced if using it actively makes the game less interesting
@@darkfireslide I generally follow his philosophy of not running high economic difficulty. Countless other streamers, better than filthy or myself for sure, do EEL just fine though.
That's an interesting question without a straight answer. I don't believe the world needs another run-of-the-mill let's play, so I only consider challenge runs for my channel. I also need something new to excite me to play, which would have to be some wacky challenge.
@CarveaHole interesting I've got an idea for a challenge run. You can only have one guy of a certain backround I.E. one hege knight or one farmhand. You also can only add point to stats that have no stars or 1 stars in them. So you find a God tier front liner with 3 stars in each of the prime categories, we'll now you have to lvl up his subpar stats.

Hello just picked up battle brothers and having a blast. I do have a question maybe you all can help with. When recruiting brothers do I wanna focus on stats over stars and traits. I've found some nice brothers with stats but no stars or traits.
Think about how good a bro is gonna be at level 11. If a bro has 70 Matk at level 1 and no stars, on average he'll have 90 matk at level 11. Level 1 60 Matk with 2 stars will give 90 as well (exactly). So high stats are cool, but stars guarantee growth. That being said, min rolling Matk with 2 stars is still probably not good enough for most people's preferences. Think about what kind of numbers you want at level 11 and use a website like bbplanner.xyz go check a bro

Love the vids, just started a new campaign myself due to my last campaign mainly going for achievements but it got deleted well making my new pc, but happy cause for what ever reason the kraken can grapple my brothers even if they have the goblin accessory and indomitable (idk how this happen maybe missed patch notes or something)
I've decided to make them longer rather than put out like 100+ episodes. More episodes means it takes longer for them to come out cause I space my uploads. I wouldn't watch these all in one sitting. HH took like 7 months lololol

How important is raw mdef in these builds? Dodge can give enough I may think in place of choosing 1s on mdef levelups.

You won't get the loot from enemies you don't personally kill. I believe you still keep other loot though including named items.
