Instances Of Insecurity in Gated Houses

- Nairobi has been under the grip of rising insecurity that has spread to locations considered to be among the safest in the city. Karen, Runda, Lavington and the outskirts of Rongai and Kiserian have been hit by a wave of insecurity targeting homes. The irony is these residences arguably boast some of the best personal security arrangements and home owners, shocked by the audacity and recurrence of the crime, have abandoned their prized homes for the nondescript safety of rented houses.. Michael Njenga with that report.
If you are going to invest in such property. Arm yourself.
True buy guns
I agree 100%...Arm,training and frequent drills and simulations. The whole family. You don't need a big dog, just a small dog to alert you. Oh! And good night sights and scope for your guns and thermos. Shoot all but leave one unhurt and make sure he's not arrested,he needs to go out and narrate the experience
Oh!Yes definitely any house with compounds it is advisable, be it also high residential areas like Karen or Runda!
@@transmutation-alchemist5802 Yeah good point!
What kind of a foreign investor would risk investing in such a country? Is it any wonder that the fastest growing statics are unemployment and capital flight?
3 years later and all that has been done is to change the police chiefs. its always the same story. "Poleni sana lakini we promise we will apprehend the culprits" i still have a scar on my head from an invasion 3 years ago and still there are cases reported every month. what if we decide to take matters to our own hands? what then?
What if the police are the co-conspirators with the criminals?
In early 2000s I wanted to buy a plot in Kiserian but later settled for a plot in Machakos county. I thank God for this change of mind, however as long as we preside over a country where economic crimes are the order of the day and the poor are excluded from the national cake we won't be at peace in our 'palatial homes' until equilibrium will be reached
Well put!
The houses are lovely but i prefer a nice mansionate in a gated community the plots are not big and ur next gate neighbour is close...it's hard to be attacked since there street lights and a wall and a watchmen manning the main gate
People should take matters on their hands. Neighbourhood watch.
This problem is everywhere just need to unite as neighbours
This is why I love Tanzania in my country such things are not so much prevalent
Who cares
This was 8 years ago.
Security in Kenya is at its worst point because thugs know cops would take hours to come. Residents should just get gun permits and own firearms cz apa police will not help ata izo security groups ni useless.
Am actually shocked to see my former residence in kamura ngong in the clips,a three bedroom master ensuite bungalow on an 1\8 ,beautiful home for only 8,500 BUT so so so insecure I had to take off in a huff! Those thugs could come like 40 of them and break into four homes simultaneously, pack things in a canter and leave
The problem is inequality. The roads do not have pesderians walkways. showing something deeply wrong within the social setup
No. A resounding no. What a nightmare.
Those German shepherds were not sharp dogs but rather over fed lazy dogs waiting for feeds
Hehehe
You have money problem ,you don't have money problem- which side do you want to be
I know ,right? Doomed either way.! So sad.
True!Life is fucked up like that!
a time will come where the poor have nothing else left to eat but the rich
Damn and to think akina Kile,Runda, westlands and other places considered upscale were safe?
Runda isnt that bad. there are some houses with fully armed guards (thanks to foreign dignitaries) and a police station within walking distance. The main entrances have guards too. They helped stop our maid from stealing my dad's car.
Watching July 2019
You put up this kind of investment and forced not to enjoy it is shame.
I know. What with the crazy prices that these properties are going for.It ain't worth it.
This can destroy kenya...economically
Uchumi umechangia pakubwa, na ni hao wezi walisema tano tena
gated community? in rongai?? does citizen know what a gated community is?
What else you call it?
There are many GATED COMMUNITY in Rongai, Kiserian and matasia . A lot of them. Some with pools and basketball courts. You’re very behind. I don’t live in Kenya and I know this my parents live in Rongai
Haha noma. Rongai is a dirty rundown place
Ben Kabilio pure ignorance
Kiprotich Toroitich pure ignorance
I believe crime is a social rconomic challenge and ought to be resolved through social means. it has nothing to do with political policy. and if it does the role is minimal.
The government should let them have gun permit to protect themselves
Leave in a gated community with small land and try to know ur neighbor
Buy illegal gun and be armed inside your compound.... Any suspense should be treated with a gun shot ...wekelea MTU bunduki ...no fear no favour
Buy a legal licensed gun not illegal
Kenya ya Jubilee thugs ni nchi bure kabisa! Useless country

Nunua risasi
THERE IS A SAYING, THE POLICE AND THE ROBBERS ARE OF THE SAME FAMILY.
True
Well said
Where is the government
Guns should be accessible in Kenya for security
True
hope this doesn't happen anymore
God is the best security. No need for dogs, watchman,
sad!
UHURU's GOVERNMENT & THIS KIKUYU's are CRYING!! Wacha muibiwe kabisaaaa.. The police are less concerned becoz by the sound of it - they are most probably part of the gang - they get their cut..
YOU speak like an illiterate idiot! That area is home to all Kenyan communities. People who have invested their hard earned cash to build a home, should be able to enjoy their properties and feel safe at there. You sound like a bitter broke bugger! Stop trolling from your mabati shack! Idiot! Pfft!
inequality societies' fruits obviously jobs a must for the youth of kenya
True
Rongai : Wrong guy
Thats the problem of having rich and poor
Are you really serious when you say "gated?"
Why thought they were the best
