I love that you showed everyone these books, great inspiration. I totally enjoyed that and like the fact that you have your favorite Inspirations also.
Wiw what a selection! Second hand is good I think. Recycling 👍 the last on was my favourite at least on a fairly quick flick though. Thanks for that i🥰
Thank you. Great book recommendations. I already have Gerald Brommer's book and IMO it's one of the best books on collage technique out there! The projects are given in a step by step manner which is easy to follow. 🙏🏼💕
Thanks Lisa, they are great books and it was fun to flip through them again, I hadn't looked at them for a while. They are now beside my bed for a bit of night-time reading!
Ohhhh love the scribbles... going to have to remember that style for the next prompt with a scribble. The Decorated Page really like that one. P has quite the collection... but one I just added to it was the Art of the Fold. And what you are a published artist, that is fantastic.
@@KariGibsonArt 😂 Your prompts your rules! Maybe just have one round of all your choice... then maybe even those of us participating have a choice round 🤩✨
Loved seeing your favs. I've read most of those and agree that they are packed with inspiration. Something I've been doing for years now is keeping a notebook of techniques and ideas. When I read a book or magazine on art journaling and see something interesting I jot it down in my notebook. Later I flip through the notebook for ideas to try in my own journal. I can't recommend it enough. I have more ideas than I think I could ever try. TYFS your books. Be well.
Awesome seeing your library for your Journals, I'v been looking into other artists as well for my art, being dazzled by some, and then thinking how can I take the inspiration and make it my own, that is not duplicate their work but take the elements and redefine them in a way to make my own work better. Do you do the same? Find those you adore and then find your own interpretation? That is aside from some principles that are just that, known elements.
@@KariGibsonArt Absolutely, after watching this I managed to find some used 2nd hand on Amazon! I can't wait to flip through them and get inspired. Thank you so much 🌷
Thank you so much Kari, that’s really really helpful and useful too. I really really love ❤️ looking at these books 📚 with you. Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
You've sure got a treasure trove their Kari, what lovely books. I've always had books in my life right from being a child, I love the smell, the feel - or is that just me lol. Tfs xo
Great video - love book flip throughs and recommendations! Have most of them apart from the last one. How exciting to have your work in a published book!
I have all of those bar two! All very inspirational! I shall be having a good look through Dan Eldon's when I next visit, that's been on my wishlist for a while. :)
Oh yes, of course you can borrow Dan's book, I could bring it with me in June if I remember. I really enjoyed having a look through these books again, they had been a bit neglected lately. I have put them beside my bed for another look-through. 💕
Wow Kari, tons of inspiration in those books 💖💖 The last one is so so gorgeous, it's great that there's a piece of yours inside! If i find a book similar to yours i will get it for sure, thanks for showing them!
That is quite an interesting selection. To be fair, I have never come across a book especially dedicated to art journaling and I like to browse the arts and crafts aisled at bookstores... I loved this kind of video from you Kari 🌻
Thanks Yana, yes not enough bricks and mortar book stores stock them. I got most of mine online. They are great for sparking ideas, I live this selection.
Hi Kari, I know this is late in the day, but that's You Tube sometimes isn't it? Just want to say I have thoroughly enjoyed your review of those inspirational books. You are great to listen to and I hope to purchase at least a couple of the books and give things a go! Thank you. X.
You have just reminded me, I have a few of these books in storage!! Bit off topic, but have you still got the ATC’s on homelessness you collaborated on as part of your degree? I was telling someone about them a couple of days ago. It’s weird when random conversations can transport you back, how long ago was that? Your final year? Xxx🥰😍
Thankyou for showing us the books, it's so much easier to decide what to buy when you can see a flick through.
You are so welcome Sylvia, I hope you manage to get some of the ones that took your fancy!
I love that you showed everyone these books, great inspiration. I totally enjoyed that and like the fact that you have your favorite Inspirations also.
Thanks Deedee, I think it helps to see what a book is really like before buying it, these ones are very much my favourites! 😁💗
Always fascinating where inspiration presents itself.
Oh, it is everywhere, Kate!

These are totally gorgeous.
Thank you, they really are great books full of lots of inspiration! 💕
Thanks for this! I have some of them, but I was particularly intrigued by the Dan Eldon book. I will definitely look for that one. Thanks again!😊
Thank you very much Sheila, I hope you can locate a copy of Dan's book, it really is very interesting! 💗😊💗
@@KariGibsonArt I'm definitely going to keep an eye out. 😊

Thanks so much for such a detailed look at these books! I don’t have any of them, so they were great to see. Thanks Kari!
You are welcome Cheryl, I hope you treat yourself!
Quite a collection, Kari. I have the Complete Decorated Journal. Some others I love are Somerset Studio magazine and the Artist Cafe.
I love Somerset Studio magazines. Stampington also do an Art Journal magazine too. I haven't seen Artist Cafe, but I will look out for it now. X

Great books to choose from. Thank you.
