David, I had a beloved girlfriend who was killed 31 years ago. Your song Guinevere saved my life. I listened to that song daily for the better part of a year, as I grieved her loss. If you ever had any doubts about your purpose in life as a writer, musician, or performer...please know that it wasn't a mere act
of vanity. I hoped that we could have crossed paths in
this life, so that could have thanked you. Peace Brother!

Met Coz 18 years ago. Thru a mutual friend in CA that had music interest. We were at a party, started talking, got along, and David asked my wife and I to his home the next day, when he found out we were driving close the next day. We declined, politely. His wife Jan came by later, and asked if David asked over. She said that he does not do they often and that we should reconsider. We accepted!
Got to their home in the hills behind Santa Barbara at 9am and left at 5 pm. We toured their home. Went for a drive in a scenic road that Lexus filmed car ads. Had lunch at his favorite lunch spot. He was considerate, friendly, reflective, and humble. He had a home music studio. On the wall was 20 or so pictures of Coz with other famous singers.
He asked what we thought. He then said they all dead but him, (Janis J,John L,). He did not why he was still alive. He said to live everyday last it was your last. He changed many lives, this changed mine.
    Rest In Peace Coz.

Glad I came across this gem. Crosby was a human being, a special one who came complete with all the contradictions, complications and contrasts we all have. However, what shines through, is that he was talented and brilliant. Caught him live twice. The best was with Nash at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. I think it might have been one of their first paid performances as a duo. A duo at least until Joni joined them towards the end for Woodstock. It was fabulous. The last time I saw Joni live had been at the Riverboat in TO the summer of 67. This channel needs more views and comments please.

You got to see Joni in 1967? That had to be so early on she was unknown, except in Canada. So cool that she came out and played with Crosby & Nash like that. I would love to have seen that!

Loved this interview with David Crosby! He said he wrote to evoke feelings, and that he certainly did, in spades. His collaborations with so many different musicians keeps his music fresh and real. Hands down, David Crosby is my favorite singer-songwriter/composer. I know… Joni is right there, too. But Croz! Seriously!! Thanks for being so prolific and wonderfully complex. And also for being one very honest, genuine human being. Now that you’re on the “other side,” you can collaborate and play with a stellar band, literally. I like to imagine…who are you collaborating with now? Like energy, creativity never ends… it just transforms. Your brilliance will shine for a long, long time.

We lost dear David 3 days ago and I just watched this whole show and marveled at his humility, intellect and wit. The best part was, I was wearing headphones and harmonized with him on every song he sang. Pure joy as I celebrated his wonderful music that has been part of me for over 50 years!
R.I.P. Croz, your songs have made you immortal to all your fans.🎵❤️🎵

He wrote so many good pieces the last 20yrs. The lyrics and the collaboration with his sin,and many others. I love all the old stuff. I listened to that stuff in the 69s with my elder brother . He was our favorite of the group ,but the it was the collaboration that made it timeless.

My David Crosby story. It was 1973. I was 21 and about to start nursing school. Getting on a plane from SF to Santa Barbara, I passed first class, saw him sitting there with an empty seat next to him. I struggled with my shyness, and after we took off I got up and went to say Hi. "You probably get tired of hearing this, but I love your music". He said "I never get tired of hearing that." Figuring I had nothing to lose, I asked if I could sit and talk for a few minutes. We sat for 30 minutes until the plane landed, talking about folk music (I was a folk singer/guitarist), Joni Mitchell, just everything I loved about music. I told him I liked his solo album, and he said "oh! YOU were the one who bought it!" He was gracious, funny, and a real sweetheart. When I told him about me starting nursing school, he was dismayed. Tried to talk me out of it, saying I was so young and should "live life" first. In retrospect I'm happy with my life decisions. Glad I didn't listen a guy who partied so hard he needed a new liver by the time he hit 50. But I still love him and his music.

Oh Dear, you are so lucky that you had the chance to meet him.
He is not only a unique musician, as they rarely are nowadays. He also remained so human and modest, which makes him even more valuable. Just let us all hope that he still will go on more than 40 years as we already can look back to his great music. Take care. :)

True artists be they singers, musicians, painters etc, stand for something with their hearts, minds and actions in life. This man, David Crosby, was an ARTIST. Like Picasso, Leonardo di Vinci, Sofonisba Anguissola, Miles Davis and many others, David Crosby's art will be alive until humanity is no longer inhabiting this planet. That is his wonderful legacy.

Watching this...about 7 days later. I'm surprised by my reaction. I'm sad and I can't get enough of his You Tube videos. This video is very enjoyable. He was the soundtrack to my life from HS to now. I saw him and CSNY once at a racetrack on Long Island. He was a unique man. He was a very talented singer song writer, but very human. He seemed very honest, especially in his older years. Like most of us he made a lot of mistakes but got off the canvas after each knockout punch. He pissed off his old friends who gave up on him and who later eulogized him cleverly, but he found another way to make music with younger more open-minded musicians. He would be the first to say he had "hoof and mouth disease" but isn't that like real life. How many friends and family said stupid things to each other, but they later regretted it and apologized. It's a classic life story from the caveman days. Egos get the best of us, especially rich egos. The true road is to dig dip and forgive. It's fuckin hard to do. Let's hope his old I me mine friends write a nice song about all those years ago. Sail on sail on sailor!

absolutely love his interviews, his books, his MUSIC>>. love it all....( I am a not really political,,, I hate the arguing on TV, so I will read about it, and think the government is corrupt even more so now ) that said, my mother is no longer here, died of cancer as well, would be David's age..... she was not a hippie. but a genius,,, a teacher, and the smartest person I ever knew....... she married young and had 3 children.... I was born in "64,,,, I saw CSN 2 years ago,,, in tears during and after Delta,, and drank red wine, tripped over carpet, was emotionally moved with the talent of CSN......I learn a lot from the musicians and artists of this era..,, and wish I could travel for 1 year around the world watching and listening to great performers...... Music is my sanity.......I am so glad that David is healthy and happy..... he is a funny, funny guy,,,,, I enjoyed this interview,,, and yes, Carry Me,,,,,, what a masterpiece...... I am rambling,, but if he ever reads these comments/ reviews, I wanted to throw my little coin in...... You lived to tell about so much.... Laurel Canyon, Woodstock,,, Altamont,,,,, and the years that followed...... thank you for being you!

I think he was for us - for the people that really listened - you know - that really loved music really deeply love music you couldn't help but be affected by Michael Hedges he was just - I ran into him the oddest way I was in the 7/11 on Miller Avenue in Mill Valley and I came out of the out of the place and there was this kid sitting there in the door of his Volkswagen bus and I walked over to him and he said: hi you're Crosby aren't you? And I said: yeah. He said: My name is Michael. He said: Here listen to this. And he played Aerial Boundaries and I just I had to sit down. I sat down on the pavement. I didn't know what to do my brain ran out my nose in a puddle. Look him up look him up listen Aerial Boundaries and tell me if your brain doesn't run out your nose. He is an amazing amazing writer player.

No way, Guinevere is better than anything Joni Mitchell ever wrote and I’m a fan of hers too but it’s a stone cold masterpiece IMO

When will crosby or nash say "if it wasn't for Stephen Stills, there would never have been a crosby, Stills, and nash.

Why does Crosby appear to be drinking red wine?? When he got clean years ago, I thought he gave up everything. Including alcohol. I read awhile back that he had starting smoking pot again and that made me a little nervous for him and his clean time. So to see him drinking here... makes me double nervous.

Well, maybe he could have a certain reason about Red Wine.
Red wine contains proven ingredients which protect the coronary arteries.
Just 1 glas per day - of course not about to be drunken or even addicted.

Saw him last week and I highly doubt he is back on anything. The only thing he is addicted to is music it seems these days. He has finished and released 4 album in 5 years (!!).

Girl..it amazes me that u would center on his drinking a glass or smoking.. that's just so unimportant.. get over being negative and SEE HIS LIGHT!

Hey David- Listened to Death Cab Cutie. Sounds alot like Graham and his musicical style. I read into the history and he committed suicide because he was bullied for being bi-sexual. Very sad.

Yes, Sungha Jung, that's what I thought too and I left a link to Sungha's video here about a week ago but it looks like my comment has disappeared! I got a notification of your comment, meaning I did leave it here but I guess it was treated as spam as it contained a link! :(
