    Radio was so different back then. Song... announcement... commercial... song... announcement... commercial. I guess the ten-in-a-row-commercial-free hadn't been invented yet. Love the nostalgia... and the education about the history of radio.

    hey Jim thanks for posting this (WNOB was THE station when I went to Gilmour in 69-70, should have received a Gold Record for the Guess Who) - also thanks for the WELW-FM Country post, haven't heard those jingles in 42 years :-D

    Was living in Willard Ohio as a 2 yr old in September. Hard to believe Judy in Disguise came out around the time I was born. I enjoy these 70s radio programs.

    Love the Stone Bowers Buick commercials featuring Tony Hatch's instrumental version of "Call Me" which actually is best appreciated by listening to it in its entirety.

    Great to hear the songs that aren't represented on focus-group-driven, revisionist-history oldies radio. And where the heck did that edit of Green-Eyed Lady come from??!! Never heard that version, it's neither the LP version or the 45 edit!!

      Man that album version is like being gently consumed by fire. And when the song hits that key change I swear I'm levitating to the heavens above.

    2 days after Jimi Hendrix died. He doesn't mention him or play any of his music??????

    • @aboxofbroken8tracks983
      @aboxofbroken8tracks983 ปีที่แล้ว

      Celebrity deaths weren't the media obsession they are now. Rock & Roll deaths especially were only lightly touched on; Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison weren't even mentioned in my hometown newspaper! Rock music was still thought of as kids' music, and not of interest to the adult population. Jim Croce's plane crash in 1973 got a short paragraph in the paper, and he was popular with all ages, and at the peak of his career!
