I was around 12 when the Big Breakfast started. Looking back, it was such a unique morning show. There is no way it would work in this day and age. I preferred the Chris Evans and Gabby combination, but Chris Evans jumped ship quite early. It wasn't as good with Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen. They just ripped off MTV.

MH had finished with the supermodel Helena (can't spell her surname) and although very beautiful, apparently she was as boring as a row of deck chairs, whereas Paula Yates had a huge personality and was great fun which is what MH was attracted to.
Paula was sassy and smart. Not a comedown at all.
Wonder what type of hold she had on him. He & Helena were always on & off and she said once that she "never lived with any man". lt seems He & Helena were n a slow drawn out break up when he started spending more time in UK. Friends later said he was planning to leave Paula after getting her settled in Australia and in a relationship for many months with a college student named Erin.

Great interview! Lovely Kylie and the fabulous Paula Yates. Although Paula was flirty when on the bed with the guys, she was also great fun with girls. The burning question is Did Kylie get it off with Prince?
No he wrote a song for her and reached out to her but that was it. I'm sure he wanted to have fun with Kylie he even made a pass at Lisa Stansfield and she slapped him in a club. He didn't care though.
Great fun with the girls? The recent docu tried to say she was popular but those of us who recall the 90s, the bios and interviews with her "friends" tell a dif. story. Her show was on & off the air and she as known for being manipulative and bipolar. According to more than one article, Bob didn't speak to his on sister for years because of Paula's lies. Still, l thought it sad that they criticized her for leaving Bob when he moved his long time girlfriend right in with him right after she left him.
