  • OSPF network types are dependent upon the Layer 2 technology we’re using, such as Ethernet or Frame Relay. The physical location and configuration of our routers determine the OSPF area, and the types of link-state advertisements visible in our link-state database.

    I really wish cisco were like JUNOS with only one network OS type, imagine trying to set up the same environment here using different CISCO devices running different IOS versions...nevertheless Charles, really appreciate the content, I will need to read and put more practice into OSPF myself and the Network and Area types Take care.
