The OG BP-827Z from Gradius II - Gofer No Yabou PLUM kit is coming in late April/early May! And here's a trivia: those 2 sketches in the manual is from a Japanese exclusive first-run edition GV booklet - History of Vic Viper. However, the starfighter on the left is a prototype named Viper TX006. Also T-301's first appearence was actually from Gradius III & IV instead of V! BTW,I am currently translating the booklet so stay tuned!
Undergate is a term used the means that the mold formed the part underneath the lip of the plastic, which in turn means less leftover material after removing it from the sprue being exposed on an exterior piece and cleaner looking finish.
Thanks for the video. I just ordered one. I first experienced the Vic Viper in the spinoff game Life Force though, so I think I'll just build this and then chuck it into a pile of hamburger meat. :)
It's one of the reasons why I've been snapping up those micro Lightyear starships, very reminiscent of Gradius. Under-gated parts usually means that their connected to the sprue in a way that any parts that will be exposed won't have nub-marks.
I'm surprised Konami hasn't attempted to make a Gradius anime or a live action w/ CG movie, especially with the success of the Castlevania animated series.
With movies like 'Shanghai Fortress' and 'Warriors of Future', a respectable live action/CG movie or an 8 episode series wouldn't be too far of a stretch to say that it isn't feasible.

Is that a buzz lightership from the hit movie lightyear?
🚀
It was obviously inspired by the design from Gradius series.
It's the space fighter from the game Gradius, pay attention!
