The Wolfbox G840 Mirror Dash cam is one of the best Mirror cameras that I have used. The quality is excellent, GPS and a 32gb card are also included. The front and rear cameras can record at the same time or just use the front and forget the rear! The cameras both record at full Hd 1080p unless you unplug the rear camera and then it is a bit higher in resolution. There are a lot of options in this camera and I can't wait to review it for you. Great review. Thanks for the efforts. Just received mine from Wolfbox today. I bought it directly from them and with their discount and free shipping it was a steal compared to Scamazon. It arrived in like two days so I'm really happy with them so far. I'm getting it installed tomorrow professionally in a 2011 F150 that had no nav or cam. This looks really well made and seems like they have changed the forward camera design and it's much sleaker than previous one looked. I got the extension wire kit and hardwire adapter but adapter hasn't arrived yet. I will wait for that to be shipped but need the camera now because it's a big ass Ferd because 'Murica. Apparently you need the hardwire for some of the functions. Not sure why but I think they call that Upselling? Hopefully it works as well as you showed. Fingers crossed.

Man I just grabbed one of these for $60 earlier today and all I can say is WOW what an upgrade from my $30 monster dash cam which looks very similar. Apparently I lucked out and got the H version with the sony sensor or whatever. The rear camera is quite stunning but I need to trim the 5% tint in the rear window or mount it outside. The full screen is soooo nice. I wish more dash cams had a large screen like it.
Only downside is mine didn't come with the gps module, an sd card or the flip bracket for the rear but I have sd cards and made a bracket out of some scrap metal in about 5 minutes.
The night time freeway picture quality is great!! You can see every thing. Definitely a good buy.

Nice video.... but several questions
1. Does it come with GPS. Receiver. ?
2. How long will the included 32 GB card record before it rewrites the files ? I probably would do. 3 min clips so files are easier to search. I assume it is a basic. Class 10. Card, not high endurance card.
3. When display is off. ( due to glare. Or rear camera not functioning ) how good is it as just a regular rear view mirror ? At times it looked good in the video, and other times looked dim when display was off. Is it as clear, or almost as clear as standard rear view mirror ?
4. I assume it records front/rear. when powered, even if display is off.

Great review I appreciate all the information it's making me really want to buy one of these for my jeep. I'm wondering when your car is off does it use power still from your car to record any movements or crashes while it's parked? Or does this have an internal battery for that?

I bought one of these in Australia (Amazon) and was just tooling around TH-cam looking at installation videos but happy I found your review. Not only does it support my purchase it shows me stuff about setup etc. Very informative. My only challenge will be to fit the rear camera, some distance away from the mirror ie at the rear of my Caravan. Any way of finding out if it's actually possible?

Hey Jon. I'm also in Aus and am looking at doing the exact same thing ie camera at the rear of my caravan. How did it all go for you? Did you end up getting the extra cable to reach the back of the caravan? Are you happy with it all? Very much looking forward to hearing back from you :)
My original post: The Wolfbox (Those Chinese call their products weird names) works very well and I am pleased with it. The Caravan reversing camera is still unattached as I think it unneccesary. It will be installed but the camera will be placed under the shroud of the Caravan to give me a side view of the wheels and their juxtaposition to the slab and tyre pads at the site. I have no problem wangling the Caravan close to the position I want it but knowing where the dual wheels are will be a blessing. If you're married it will reduce conflict with the spouse as to the directions she is offering the Driver, whose temple arteries are usually prominent.
@@jonss1948 🤣 Out of curiosity, how do you plan to connect the cable running from the monitor that terminates at the rear of your tug to your van? I've just ordered the Wolfbox G880 (3 channel) along with an extra rear camera to substitute the in-car camera. My plan is to have 1 rear camera at the back of my tug and the 2nd rear camera at the back of my caravan.

Are the guides fixed or do they turn or curve to assist reverse guidance? Can they be freely positioned as I've seen on Vantop or Autovox?

Yes it is, and when we look through the mirror front camera quality looks lower than rear cam, but if we upload the vedio to external device the vedios are ok..
some people forget to take the protective label off the camera lens as you install mirror it faces away from you easy done

So i took the rear camera and use that as the front video, since my car has a killer rear camera and thats where i got the idea. Instead of selling it, i got it set up but how do u record using th3 rear as ur front
I just purchased the g840h. front camera works great, when I plug in rear camera the image is flipped left to right, if I click the flip image button it turns the image upside down. I have tried turning the camera upside down and the image is still backwards and upside down . any info would be appreciated. thanks Dave

When I turn my car on, it goes straight to the back cam. It doesn’t give me an option to switch to front or both. It doesn’t have the time either just the back camera and the parking lines . Pleas ehelp

The connections of the rear camera is the same as other rear mirror camera. I prefer the 840s design rear camera. I'm hoping it works on another model with the same connection
If assume the connections for most of these rear cams are either the 3 or 4 pin setup and that they would work, interchangeably, on a variety of camera ...just an assumption
important question! does the rear camera have a lag? Does the signal arrive immediately or with a delay in time? Can the rear camera be used as a rearview mirror when changing lanes?

Does anything protect the data once stolen? The lock feature only secures it so far. Have had people say to take the card with you but that's pointless.

At night my back up camera is black white and fuzzy in certain areas and I find it a little upsetting...I wish it was as clear as the front...do I need to change a setting or will it always be like this
Mine is also black white and fuzzy (the rear camera)I thought that the back camera would be better:-( I have a SUV and for me the back rear camera is the most important (to see in low light and night conditions)

Purchased this unit and did the install all went well until the rear camera. All I get is Warning Undetected Rear Camera. I have checked the connections but no rear camera. Defective ?

Pity it doesn’t have camera on right hand side for right hand drive vehicles. If you could flip the view would solve it.

Bought one but soon realised, they're designed for Left Hand Drive. With the camera on the rear view mirror, even though it has a 170 degree angle of view, the driver cannot turn the screen to an optimal point to the right to take full advantage of the screen brightness. viz. with the camera at full gimble to the right, the rear view mirror can't go any further to the left before cutting off the view on the right hand side. Also, my car is a 2006 model and the ball mount on the mirror is slightly worn. The additional weight of the unit, plus the assymetrical mount on the mirror twists and drops the front of the screen to point floorward. Making up a special mount.
They do this model in RHD now you can choose on Amazon.

HI Jabber Tech. I am kind of confused. In this video you mentioned that it has super capacitors as well. In Amazon it states that it has supercapacitor, and yet on the same page it says that it has lithium polymer batteries. Can you kindly confirm which one it really has as Lithium ion/polymer isn't an option from where I live as it's too hot and it might cause some fire hazzard. Thank you so much.Also does the NikoMaku have supercapacitors as well or just Lithium-ion?

I am very interested in installing this in my side by side for off road use. Mostly for backing up, but I see some other cool advantages. Will it work for off road or will it be blurry?

Are you able to see tag numbers in the dark that's very important to me that is the main reason why I'm going to buy one I need to be able to read tag numbers in the dark or the light
I would watch the video and see if the quality is what you need
It would be nice to make a rearview mirror like that that can record live and be sent to A email instead of a card in case of a cop stops you and they tried to take the evidence

Is this viable as just a good mirror/reflecting surface? Can it be recording etc while you are driving and using it as a normal mirror with no display? Also is the parking mode/monitor good with motion detection when hardwired?

I know it's been a long while since you posted this video but the rearview mirror I just purchased through your link does not have the setting option to have both cameras off and just the mirror as a mirror and ONLY time and gps on the display. Mine arrived yesterday and my only option to have a mirror onlybia to turn the whole thing off. I have asked the company which model is the one you are showing in this video but I have not received a reply or answers through Amazon as well. Do you think you made a mistake when linking to the Amazon specific model? Thanks.

Is there an easier or less inconvenient way to retrieve videos? I don’t have a SD card reader for my computer and I got this as a birthday gift. I was really excited to be able to access videos from my phone instantly when I need to but this model doesn’t support the app nor does it have WiFi. it sounds like I’m out of luck

You have to have it set to 1080p since the card can't write both cameras at full res simultaneously.

Does anyone know why the reverse guiding lines always show even though the car is not on reverse?
The red wire must be connected to the red wire on one of your reverse lights in the back. You should see 12v at that wire when you put the vehicle in reverse.
@@phrogwhisperer I forgot to mention that when i unplug the backup camera cable, the guiding lines still show which prevents me from changing the view of the camera when i touch it on the screen.
Sounds like a bad unit..contact the company for an exchange
