Greetings from Greece!! Top handle saws are really a charm when pruning (mostly olive and pistachio trees). I own 2 of them and keep my 62cc chainsaw for "heavier" projects

…..Irene agrees as well, she likes that little saw, it doesn’t buck when she’s cutting nor does it spew oil like some brands do ( granted some bar oil leaking is a saw doing it’s job, other spew it like the Exxon Valdez!!, I’m lookin at you Homelite & Ryobi!!!!!) now if I could get her to stop wearin the TR industrial forestry helmet w/headphones and chaps to the tractor supply!, though they do give her a contractor’s discount everytime we’re there so we have that goin on for us!!!…..

Past TH 20T, 200T, 201T, 192T, 194T, 2511, 355, 550 mkII all have their place I still prefer a rear handle if my feet are on the ground! Recently ran a 194CE the rear handle version of the 194T which has me on the quest for a new rear handle baby ground saw 194ce, 201ce, 2511P, 361P I will have to research the availability of a 550 mkIII rear handle into the mix of Echo and Stihls as well. The Echo dealer days pricing of $315 for a rear handle handle 361P is tempting for a niche saw.

    • @iffykidmn8170
      @iffykidmn8170 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The Echo 2511 is a screamer with1/4 pitch if one can get by with a 25cc almost toyish feeling 5lb saw, 1/4 pitch is not very durable and is niche chain IMHO.

Awesome video. I do like all 3 brands of saws. Stihl, Husqvarna, and Echo. They all have awesome pros and cons. But for 39cc that saw is totally awesome. And Husqvarna fuel ⛽ at 95 octane is 👍!!!!!
Your saws are what make ya 💰 and a well maintained chainsaw is almost like a 🎸.
A very 🤓 smart competent arborist can make you a pile of 💰 and also turn around and landscape a household/tract of land with new landscaping to where it even yields you more then what you had before.

My favorite chainsaw is my 36-volt 16-in makita. It starts right up every time I put fresh batteries on it 😂. I haven't started any of my dinosaur burners in over a year since I got this 36-volt masterpiece. I just recently processed a 56 inch sugar maple. All the neighbors laughed and told me it would never happen when they seen the little battery-operated saw. Next day no one had the gull to come out of their house and say a word. All done. Those who say it is not possible need to shut their mouths and let those doing it actually do it. Don't forget with this battery operated chainsaw I can cut your tree down while you're still sleeping and it will never wake you up. Now that my friends is a thing of beauty.✌️

Love the videos....Is the chain stock or did you file it to be aggressive? The saw kind of sounds like a turd, like it gets pulled down out of the powerband really easily. A .325 chain might be a little to much for it or the rakers are filed low. My 192T (similar size) with a hand filed 3/8 picco flys through Ash

I knew a Stihl dealership owner who told me that the Stihl top handle professional saws were a very high spec designed , more so than even there rear handled counterparts.
And I presume that goes for all the other manufacturers top handle pro saws.
I knew him personally as my arborist company bought saws from him including rear handled pro saws.

Husky 338 XPT earlier version of your shown top handle. With some caveats since all my other saws are Stihl ( forgive me ), this tiny tool is ideal for getting to the mess of blowdowns and crown branches. The 338 XPT must have been engineered by baboons ( such as air filter in front just off the bar ) , but it works. Another good Huskvarna show & tell.

Not being judgemental here; but when would a top handle saw be an advantage for a firewood cutter?
I used to cut firewood, (I still do; but only when I can get a tree service to drop some logs off), and one of the Stihls I had was an 020AVP. I could have bought either one; but the top handle one seemed like a mechanical disadvantage; compared to the AVP.
It seems like a "do something because you SHOULD; not because you CAN."

    Beech or Beach
While I was eating a roll, I pondered Chris's role and insight into making sure not to incite a brand war over saws.
Stihl and Husquavarna are made of steel, and it would be a waste for someone to steal the saws by tucking them in a waist.
No one has been bolder than Chris while he stands firmly on his red soles as he piques our interest while exposing his soul.
He stands squarely on the peak of his wood pile of log boulders. while the kittens peek around the yard.
Chris was able to cite specs on the saw while he was on site in the wood yard. During the demo, he wore safety glasses to protect his sight. The new yard is not by the creek, but his knees creak less in the new yard.

I have 2 Echo top handle saws from when I used to climb and use to love them until they went "ka-put" like every other Echo product out there. Not sure if Im going to sink a couple hundred bucks into fixing them or not but I think the problem is when we'd run non- ethanol fuel and let the saws sit for a while, I think all the lines got squishy and now won't let fuel through them. I take limbs down to 3" or so and these top handle saws are perfect for those.

Good review of the saw and it's capabilities, but I would strongly caution anyone against using top handles for ground work, and certainly never use it one handed unless you are a trained professional. Top handles are needed for arborist climbing and bucket truck work. Rear handle saws have more power and are safer to control on the ground. Don't risk your life or limbs by thinking this is a toy because it's smaller.

I have one of the rear handle versions. Yet to actually use it though. I wanted a nice light saw since I don't always want to tote around a saw with a 20-28 inch bar. I bought it from a dealer on Ebay and it showed up with the bolt for the oiler broke off. I took it to the one local Husqvarna dealer I know of in the area assuming since its brand new there should be a warranty and the guy was just a jackass. Told me I should have bought it from him. Sure I guess I could have and paid $100 more for it. I ended up just buying a new oiler was $20 and I didn't want to swap parts out so I took it to the small engine shop and paid him $12 I think and when I picked it up he asked if I wanted another saw and he had a top handle Echo there think its a 355t that somebody dropped off over a year ago and never came back. So I paid the $40 that was billed on the saw and he gave it to me. I use that Echo all the time. I used it exclusively on the last few trees didn't even break out a bigger saw just used that little top handle lol.

Why did that one tree cut have so much stringy material and others looked like a true wood powder dust? That small saw really cuts well.

The top handle would seem to be built as durable as the the 338. It is not. Ironically one weak spot on these T540's is the top handle.

@@InTheWoodyard good saw. enough power. 2 millimeters of thickness added to top handle portion and saw would be less fragile. Just some head scratching engineering. Why integrate the chain brake into the main case? I always have my 338 which is way less fragile as a back up top handle. That said, the T540 has been good saw after venting issues were ironed out.

You should be ashamed of yourself, cuttin' beech into little discs, just playin' around. Budweiser has a serious need for beech wood. I've always been taught that you send the trees to their highest purpose, so if you need more hints, I'm sure Kenny is the man to do it!! If not, look out, I'll be here tomorrow! - Side note: I read where they found a ceramic bottle of St. Louis beer in an Arizona ghost town. Over a hundred years old. Still good! That's got to be a higher use for beech than firewood in Arizona!!!!!! 'Course, Miller and Coors might pay more, just to store it for emergencies! Ask your buddy Buffett, he'd know!!

No way thats better than my ole 200T! And i highly doubt its better than the newer 201tc! Every time you put pressure on it, it wanted to bog out. My 200T would never do that. Especially with only one hand putting pressure on it. It may be a decent saw. But the best? No way! Also, u may have experience cutting firewood. But when reviewing a saw thats meant for "In Tree" work. Your opinion as a firewood soecialist. Doesn't hold much weight to it. I was an Arborist for over 8yrs! Ive used a lot of stihl saws and some echos and a few Husqies! Imo, the Husqvarna are made kinda flimsy and cheap feeling. When it came to the choke, on/off switches and the silly lil primer! Every stohl chainsaw ive used. Ive never had much of any actual problems with. That werent induced by man! Ive had stihl saws in -20°F winter mornings. That i would almost pray for them to not start. Never even change them over to a winter setting either. Yet they always started up the same every single time. Couple pulls in full choke, a sputter, put on half choke with the brake on. One pull it starts with a high idle, pop the brake off let it high idle till smooth which is a matter of like 5or6 seconds. And it was as good as it would be after running a full tank through it. I apologize for the kind of condescending tone. But ijs, these are in tree saws. And to give them a review as wood cutting saws. Is just not helping anybody in the field out. I want to know how it feels in a saddle 40ft in the air. Cutting and pulling over hang over powerlines. I was a Line clearance Arborist, so it was extremely important to have a saw. That i knew would not let me down, mid way through a cut. Ijs, from what i seen in this video. And from what ive experienced irl. The 200 series top handled stihl saws. Are on top, no questions asked! Hisky is definitely upping its game tho. But that saw should not be bogging like that, on a branch like that. If it were a log, where the bars essentially maxed out, then i could understand. But that stuff u cut in the beginning. Was stuff it should go through like butter with out much user imput.
