- If you want a realistic week of my life as an English teacher in Korea, this video is it! I spend 7 days filming as realistic of a week as I could teaching English here in Korea (and also doing TH-cam hehe).

One of the joys (really) of making TH-cam videos is choosing the right music to go with a clip. Music can bring so much to a video. So I really liked the part where Cherie was giving various tracks a 5 to 10 second assessment. Just wanted to add as well that the apartment looks cute and well-loved.

thank you so much for including 7:36 - I started working at a hagwon last week and I've been really struggling to get settled in and teach, I keep making mistakes and doing things wrong and I've had people, including the director, tell me how to do better and it's really made me doubt myself and even my decision to move to korea. But seeing that you have also made mistakes at work makes me realise how normal making mistakes is- we're only human and we can learn from the mistakes and improve so we shouldn't beat ourselves up over it. Seeing that clip in your video is just so reassuring and helps me not worry as much- we'll both improve and be pros in no time!

cherie, please don't pressure yourself too much about making failure.
i've also had this down moment, despite it's been almost 9 years since i came back to korea,
after spending about 13 years of my life in states.
and plus i am korean-american, but i still have such a hard time fitting into korean society.
so i can say for sure that i feel the complication that you are going through.
korea's expectation is too high compare to states or even other parts of the world,
but don't ever think that you are not good at what you are doing.
I still have a lot of thinking that Korea has certain standards and changes that needs to be made.
i haven't left any comments on your video for a while, but i really want you to be able to have great time of your life and expeirence while you are in korea.
please know that, god only gives you as much as you can handle on your plate.
i always think about this, whenever i have hard time, also i don't have many close friends i can speak my minds too.
so please, always love yourself, be yourself.

I actually believe that God does give us more than we can handle, but we can turn to Him for help in handling our trials! I love your encouraging message 김혜지, and I’m glad you felt better afterwards Cherie. I would like, however, to respectfully disagree with Cherie’s thought on how God gives us more than we can handle because the Bible doesn’t tell us that. You can see that at 1 Corinthians 10:13, and I think it’s loving on His part that he does so.

Frustrations and uncertainty are part of the process. It's something all English teachers experience at one time or another Myself included. The fact that you care so much is a good thing, your passion will allow you to grow both as a teacher and a person.

Loved the video! Watched it while I worked out yesterday. lol You're right; a week definitely gives more insight into one's life than just a day...and what a week it was too. There were ups, downs, lefts, rights, bathroom lights w a mind of their own...what a ride. 😉 Glad you could go out tho and have some fun to shake off the work day. I know it's a lot of work filming every day then editing it all, but it was really cool to see you cover a whole week; I'd be interested to see more videos like this. ✌🏻😊

I've only just stumbled onto your channel a few months ago so I'm sorry if you've mentioned this before but when you first moved to Korea did you enjoy Korean food beforehand or did you have to get used to the foods there? Does the school you work at know you do youtube and if so do they care ? I've said before how much your videos have helped me calm down and I get to live in Korea through you
I’ve honestly always loved Korean food haha. I usually prefer it nowadays. 🤗 and my school doesn’t know about my
TH-cam channel (as far as I’m aware), and I would rather keep it that way 😁

한국어 자막 자동번역인거 같은데. 신기하게 갈수록 번역퀄이 좋아지네. 정확히 어떤방식으로 하시는지 모르겠지만. 구글번역보다 papago번역이 "뉘앙스" 전달에 더 효과적인 번역을 해줍니다. 그냥 일반 번역은 비슷한 수준이구요. ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ
