Who could have believed that Freddie Starr would ever make a record like this. The first time I heard this song, I thought at first it was just going to be a sad record. @paulhamerton Hi Paul. Whilst it was recorded around the time of his first break up (1974) it certainly wasnt penned for it. It was written by Larry Butler who also produced 'Honey' for Bobby Goldsboro in 1973, and it certainly is about somebody dying, listen between 1min 58 and 2min 30. Larry Butler wrote this hoping Bobby Goldsboro would sing it, but for unknown reasons (or unpublished reasons anyway) he declined to do so. Regards Ron
I remember this song coming out and didn't realise what it was about at the time. Still think it's a beautiful song. He's a lovely singer but he goofs about a lot.
For those interested this song by Freddie was a follow up version to Bobby Goldsboro's Honey, hence the opening line 'I miss you Honey' It wasn't planned to have been taken as seriously as it wasn;t his style. Guess he couldnt bring himself to suin such a great ballad.

I notice there is a photo shot of our ecumenical Christ Centered Church set up for a wedding looking straight down the aisle in this vider and we are OK with that and do not want that removed!
