Funny because the Kenner Apone figure, and particularly the NECA version of it, were the best Heavy Duty figures we've had at a larger scale until now. Design overlaps are dramatic.
I'm stoked about Heavy Duty. He was one of the very first characters that I kitbashed, so I could have one on the Classified Series shelf. I am a little bummed that they used a product shot on the box that includes and accessory that apparently doesn't exist anymore, but that's also a pretty Hasbro moved to make. Ah, well. Guess we'll have to find a substitute.
Lemme just revisit the packaging, because I've been informed it is included on the under side of one of the plastic bubbles, but I swear I didn't spot anything.
Great first look at this guy. He's way more versatile than I thought. The figure itself looks great but I'm not a fan of the accessories. I'll get him eventually, but this is a definite "wait for a sale" purchase for me. He'll definitely be going commando with a backwards hat.
@ If by gang member you mean classical musician, metal guitarist, and special ops bada$$, sure. I’m sure that’s what you meant, because this is a Joe channel, and Joe fans know their IP and what makes it great. Otherwise, take the racist dog whistles back to your hole and chew on your incel anxiety until your sell-by date passes.
Well I know this, Bazooka's backpack and helmet fit on him no problems. As I filmed it and then edited it out to cut down the length of the video. So should be good to go.
Great review mate! Figure looks awesome and you definitely showed that. Someone can make us belt feeds that Hasbro decided to eliminate. One question; Do the missiles fall out of the tubes like they do on Metalhead if you choose not to use the blast effects? Again, great job! Thanks!
Hey bud, thanks for the kind words. I'm going to suss out the bubble again to see if I somehow missed the belts just to be doubly sure. As for the missiles, some do and some don't.
That's incredible. Funny that I accidentally ordered two; oh well. Funny that it didn't come with the belt. I think you're right, they must have scrapped it before launch. I bet there isn't even a molded segment in the plastic that is empty that would have housed it. I almost wonder if previously released belts for other releases won't fit?
Well apparently it should be attached to the under side of one of the inner bubbles. I clearly didn't see anything last night when I was filming, but it is of course possible I missed it in my haste to finish recording before my battery died. I'll have another look after work and update all accordingly.
Very cool! Reminds me of the Sigma 6 version of him that I have and love. Very Space Marines from Aliens as you said. As for the weaponry, realistic stuff on their own except those mini-mini (extra mini?) Vulcan rotary canons, they'd need a vehicle to power their electric motors and feeding systems! That amount of ammo on his back might last 15 seconds between both so I guess it's possible to have a lithium battery system that could be portable and last that long with the AMPs required to operate them for a very short time (I'm actually building a full sized 6 barrelled HPA and electric powered one at the moment for airsoft). The Browning M2 .50 calibre heavy machineguns are just that, very heavy, it takes two strong fully grown soldiers to carry just one gun without any ammunition, those ammo cans fully loaded are about the weight of a third M2. Ironically the MG42 based heavy machinegun looking set up in Aliens is far more practical in reality (not that we care about that with GI JOE) as the MG42 is actually classed as a light machinegun (I own one, it's actually lighter than my M1919) it's the very clever Lafette tripod that weighs a tonne! Got one of those too lol. So Vasquez and Drake are far more realistic especially as they used a very early version of the Steady Cam system (originally invented by Peter Jackson while filming 'Bad Taste' I think?) that used gimbals and giros to help reduce the feel of the weight they were holding. So in reality this guy would have pulverised legs! And that's not including the probably extremely heavy rockets and launchers... he needs a full exoskeleton power suit to pull this off! I might change the hat for a bandana.. Oh yes those barrels are very bent and since they rotate at 4000rpm that's a very bad day!
Increíble, you’ve already got the late 2025 wave in only Jan of 2025. What hasbro delay ???😂 In my opinion, this was an opportunity to have done a mech as his “accessory” to deviate further from the upper torso hardware of the basic figure from the smaller scale. Yes it would have drove the price up for him and mechs with a hasbro action figure is a stretch but a missed opportunity to have officially introduced a mech in the toy line from the company itself. They always have the retro card option for the normal for people that just want the regurgitated fig. Even though those too aren’t really as consistent always with their smaller scale versions. Nice figure overall though Nice get and nice review Adz
Yep that's him. I put his name on screen during the editing process. Mark Rolston who played that part was also in Lethal Weapon as well as the nasty piece of work who gives Andy Dufresne hell in Shawshank.
The more I watch this the more I'm thinking Im gonna buy 2, so I can put the quad weapon system on a 2nd figure, similar to Drake and Vasquez from Aliens!
I've been informed that they may be taped under the clam shell, but I sure as heck didn't see anything when I checked last night. So I'll check again when I get home.
Actually you ain’t the first I was mine didn’t come in a box but I aquired this figure since November 2024 lol.. also I don’t do you tube but good review
Whenever a reviewer gets new figures early, I always feel like that kid that pouts at his friend's birthday party. Great review!
😂 LOL
Man that face sculpt is phenomenal! This was a good review on HD 👌🏾
Hey Jon, thanks for the kind feedback and for checking it out.
@ Hey you’re welcome man 👍🏾
Wow, sucks about the ammo belts... :(
Yeah not sure what happened there. Oh well.
That fist thing happened with my chuckles.
Ahhhh there you go then. How'd you fix it?
Very excited for mine to arrive. Really appreciate the review. Thank you.
Great review. One of my favorite Joes. Love the current look. Can’t wait to get mines.
Thanks for checking it out and the kind words, Willie. Hope you enjoy the set when you get your hands on it.
He looks awesome! I'm actually looking forward to this one now
Mate, he is a kick ass release and you know me, I'm harsh when it's deserved.
You had me at Bulls medallion mate. 🤩 😤 Absolutely epic looking figure, great stuff Adam🦈
It's a nice touch hey, mate. I think a lot of people are going to love this figure.
It’ll be the first thing I get rid of. That’s crazy.
Why???
Holy ship…guess Heavy Duty is also coming sooner than September 😂😂👏👏
Btw…those are Night Creepers on the back of the package
Sure seems that's the case, mate.
Everything on this figure is new sculpt except the legs which are Slaughter's and Big Ben. The Aliens guy you're thinking about is private Drake. :)
Funny because the Kenner Apone figure, and particularly the NECA version of it, were the best Heavy Duty figures we've had at a larger scale until now. Design overlaps are dramatic.
Love that head sculpt. I could really use it for an alternate James Rhodes head for one of my warmachines!
It looks great and is very much giving off Rhodey vibes.
Great review. He looks awesome.
Whaaaaaat! Didnt think he would show up until like... 2028
We live in crazy times, sir.
I got some ammo belts printed up that should fit
Loki we may need to have further discussions.
@ be happy to
Great review! Can’t wait for this figure!
The eyepiece targeting system was probably meant for the head with the hat backwards that's the way to hold on a lot better
Yeah I demonstrate that later on in the review. Still, it should sit flush on both sculpts if we're keeping it a buck.
It’s a Must-Have. BRAVO on the review!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thanks KJ and yeah dude, he's a stellar inclusion in the line.
Man, I need your connect! Good review,
I mentioned the 🔌 in the review and link to their store in the video description 😉

@SharkEyesToyView It's interesting, because you were right about the promo shots on the Pulse site missing them too.
Yeah something ain't right, mate.
Those are night creepers in the background but I'm not sure why they be coming after him
HEY check your package the ammo belt is taped to the side of the plastic shell underneath.
Well mine was anyway
I definitely didn't see anything when I checked, but I'll double check when I get home.
What up, Shark Eyes! Nice pick up and review. I’m wondering if Lenny and the team used the Sergeant Slaughter buck to make Heavy Duty?
Thank you, sir. Definitely Slaughter legs.
Daaaaaaaamn Sharky! ....I can't wait for this figure!
I read that in "Daaaaaaaaaamn Daniel" lol. Rest assured he's well worth the wait.
Terrific figure and review! 🦈
Thanks, Trav. I think a lot of people are gonna dig this release.
@SharkEyesToyView wasn't he our #1 most anticipated or top 3 or something?
I love the Joe Pros and they look fine in black even without extra color. It may have been sculpted earlier and just carried forward.
Yeah I'm not mad at it either. It's part of the line and it makes sense.

One of the most underrated ARAH figures gets its due. Perfect upscale and update to a low key classic design. Nice review.
Thanks for checking it out and he most definitely got his due. Easily one of the best sets yet.
Stupid design and concept. Gang member with experimental weapons? Come on.

Nice one. Like that hascrap using a new ab engineering j😂❤
Quick question Adam,
Does his pack fit on other Joes (Grunt or Big Ben)?
Great review
Cheers mate
Lemme suss that out when I get home from work and hit you back. Thanks for the kind words, mate.
@ you made him look so good geared down (Vietnam style) wondered if I can put his pack on someone else 😂

A really super cool looking heavy-duty figure 👍👍👍👍

A first-rate review of Heavy Duty and his awesome accessories!
Thank you, sir.
@SharkEyesToyView Great work!👍

The SAW Viper ones look very similar to me.

This reminds me of the Kenner Aliens colonial Marines toys from the 90s... I'll be gluing that eye piece down tho, or else itll get lost
That's one HEAVY Duty honcho 🫡
Yessir he's damn near a work of art.
Why is it so hard for them to make straight guns?!?! These are military action figures. It's kind of important.
(carefully) Hold it over the steam from a boiling kettle should fix that issue pretty quickly.
@@90lancaster I'm sorry, but we shouldn't have to. They should be good to go out of the package. IMO.

Lol yep
he looks like Terry Crews
Seen a bit of that.
wtf no ammo belts thats some bull shit and why doest he come with goggles and ear phones for safety
Yeah dunno what happened there, mate. I guess the headphones are a tie in to him being a music fan... maybe? Or just sound reduction.
Awesome fig Shark🤙
Cheers, Damon.
Thanks for the review. Already ordered this because it looks so ridiculous in a good way.
You're most welcome, thanks for watching and being polite. He is most definitely ridiculous fun.
I do want this one
Super nice 👍🏿
He needs the ammo belts. That was just lazy by Hasbro, doesn't make sense. Maybe Gridiron will make some. Just dumb.
Or don’t buy it, if it’s so “lazy” 😢 need a tissue?

Thx mate. Definitely exceeded my expectations.
It's Terry Crews
I preordered on amazon and it says september xD
And that's if they don't cancel it on you first.
So much for delayed releases this year
I assume Heavy Duty has cyborg legs and spine lol!
Lol he isn't named Heavy Duty for nothing.
