One of my dearest best friends just lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. It is so hard to lose someone who has been like a sister and extended family. When she moved here to upstate NY from Montana several years ago, we became instant friends . Love this song. I also had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Gunnar and Matthew after their concert here in upstate NY. They are two of the kindest, most personable, down to earth gentlemen, and very respectful. They did not rush anyone through the "meet and greet" and posed for photos, autographs, answered questions, and even asked their fans questions. They are definitely a "class act" and the concert was phenomenal. I would love to see them again, and this post is from a senior citizen who grew up watching Ozzie and Harriet. I remember the exact time and place of where I was when I heard the horrible news regarding Ricky's death. What a horrible loss. I highly recommend Gunnar and Matthew's concert. It is definitely a very nice evening. Stay around to meet and talk with them. You will have a fantastic evening.👍🙂
This song is so beautiful, what a tribute to your dad, but it's more it's what we would all like to say to those we've lost, but especially if we didn't get to say goodbye. You boys have wonderful voices, personalities, compassion and beautiful music
John Fogerty could pass as Rick Nelson's brother or cousin! It's so crazy that your Dad died Jan. 21st, my Dad Ricky died Jul. 21st, they have a sister named Tracy. I just love the love for music that these great artists have! I could just listen to this music all day, as it brings love, calm and peace, that most musicians can't achieve without so much effort. When you play music that doesn't degrade, bring anger, etc. the heart is drawn more and more when you listen. Ricky Nelson will not be forgotten.........his spirit is in the hearts of his sons Matt and Gunnar, his daughter Tracy, etc. When my Dad died, "Love Me Today" was one song I played, had an awesome cry, and felt soooo good after! No need for an alcoholic or drug fix, Nelson's music soothes the soul and helps you to forget the bad stuff in your life as you listen. Thank You Nelson for making the legacy last as you have!! Love and hugs to you both!

He had the roots, the looks, but his music career didn't last. I know it was from his drug addiction,etc. mostly. And after that, you really didn't hear much more about him. I often wondered if the singer Hawk Nelson had any family ties to Rick Nelson or any of the other Nelson's. Have a nice week Maddy! 😁😁

Our apartment building had 3 apartments with very thin walls. I was a department secretary at our local college, and he was a college student living in off campus. I finally left him a note explaining I was working and not a student, and had to be to work early. Then very politely asked if he could please lower his music. Finally one day we both happened to be outside and started talking. He graduated from SUCO in 1977 and we have been friends since. I actually saw he and some of his friends over the weekend and met his fiancee. He was married several years and then divorced many years later. Anyway, I am so happy for the future Mr & Mrs. B. 😊 Anyway, I did like listening to the BeeGees after the music was not quite so loud. I was supposed to go to a concert, but it was snowing so I stayed home. He is such a devoted fan he went anyway. Sorry I missed it. Another time we did see Peter, Paul, and Mary in concert. I cry everytime I hear this. I think of the special people in my life who are in Heaven, especially my mom and dad. I was so very Blessed to have them as my parents.❤❤
Rick Nelson was a national treasure. His tragic death on New Year's Eve 36 years ago was something that broke many people's hearts and changed the way we look at this night forever. His sons Matthew and Gunnar have forged their own path and carried on their father's legacy. I'm sure that their Pop is very, very proud of them.

The song evoked memories of my dad walking through my front door for 42 years, and then never again after 2011. Like the Nelsons' sang, I 'd give everything to see him walk through it just once more.
Want to tell the guys I have a poster that Rick signed for me. It was the playing to win poster. I let the venue where Rick was appearing to advertise he was going to do a show. I belonged to his fan club at that time and the fan club president at that time asked If I would let the theater use it for advertising Rick and this is why he singed it for me. I'm wanting to get the sons of Rick's to singe it to some day when I get them to come to Joliet Illinios soon I hope love the Nelson family.
