There is no remake in progress. Most of these CGI scenes were made for special releases or pachinko games (Japanese casino machines, similar to slot machines). This Crisanto guy has basically zero clue what he's talking about - probably for the same reason he felt the need to say "not Robotech".
This OG series is my first romance anime that I ever watched... I was 9 at the time. At that age, even I could figure out that Misa Hayase (Lisa Hayes in US) is the right girl for the protagonist after he was simping for Lynn Minmay for 10+ episodes. Luckily, he didn't stay a simp for the entire show, he manned up and chose the best girl over a childish Idol whose ENTIRE career is centered on selling dreams. Macross Delta did the EXACT opposite, selling superficial dreams over ACTUAL story that felt rushed to tie up all the loose ends during the final episode. They should've ended it with Mikumo "betraying" Walkure in a cliffhanger ending and went to season 2 so they could flesh out the story more. Instead, all we got were bewbs. Even the almighty power of oppai can't save that particular anime... The movie version did not make it any better too..
To your first point, you right, because God Forbid the main protagonist choose the mature woman who has her shit together. To the second point, I think after the first series for some reason they though that Minmei was the break out character and went with focusing more on the Idols instead of the damn Mecha Anime EVERYONE CLEARLY CAME TO SEE!!!!!!!!
@@rangav248 It was obvious where the budget for Macross Delta came from and where it was prioritized on. All show and no tell (storytelling that is). The capoeira-like fighting dance was unique and made the male lead stand out but the idol industry won't have ANYONE outshine the idols they invested in, even if it was the male lead character of a MECHA anime. Needless to say, his unique trait was quickly nerfed and forgotten by the time the series reached the second half. The music is good, I'll give them THAT much. But I watch the Macross series for the mechs with a compelling romance on the side, not some idol fanfare shit show that has no substance.

Delta outright jumped the shark tho, the pilots were almost as sidelined (axia aside, damn that one got me even if it was blatant manipulation) as much as possible even more so that the pilots in southern cross (the robotech-macross tanks series). Been years since I read those books, probably still around online if you look.

That clip is from a pachinko game. Pachinko companies contract new and updated animation sequences for their games to attract an age demographic into playing their games. I love the original Macross, but the animation is all hand drawn. You will see none of the slick CG animation from this clip. That said, Macross has some truly inspired and brilliant scenes of hand drawn animation, and a few truly less inspired scenes that really shows the show's age. BUT for a show created in 1982 by a bunch of Gundam fans, to me it is pure genius over all.
Idk it would feel weird in a way without Arihiro Hase as Hikaru especially because of how close he actually was with Mari Iijima in real life. One thing is for certain though and it's that there is no way in hell that it can be done without Mari Iijima. Lynn Minmay IS Macross and Mari Iijima IS Lynn Minmay.

Gusto, si. Es subjetivo. Pero la calidad no. Y son dos cosas diferentes. Solo el %15 de la banda sonora de Robotech corresponde a Ulppio, y el restante es musica muy "barata". Es decir, suena muy de los años 80s y ahí se queda encasillada, ya que no logra traspasar fronteras como si es el caso de Macross. La musica de Kentaro Haneda, es mas atemporal, hecha por una pequeña orquesta. La de Robotech es toda hecha con un sintetizador barato.
For the love of all that is holy, would they please stop teasing us and give us a remastered version of Macross. Heck, I'll even personally take the original sound track of Robotech and dub it over the new animation to get the Robotech bros on our side.

Nowadays, the latest Macross is all about selling all these Idols shit instead of songs to bring people together like Mynmay did (personally I hate her, but not as much as the shitty idols in the latest Delta series).

Max: The fighter pilot so unremittingly badass, that the best pilot the Zentradi had to offer tries to kill him on two separate occasions and he decides "I wanna spend the rest of my life with this woman" and it actually work out. Or heck even Lisa and Claudia who basically ran the bridge like a machine. But no, we chose the singer........🙃

Shoji Kawamori is the designer of the Anime Macross and this video comes from the Pachinko Machine game And he is also one of the Mech Designer of Battletech and he reused some of his Macross design

当時小学生だった時、「愛覚えていますか」を劇場で見た時に衝撃が走ったのを良く覚えている。
俺にねだられて半ば無理矢理一緒に見る事になったお袋が「いい映画だった」と感想を言ったのが印象的だった。
劇場版だとマックスとミリアのタイマン勝負の時にこれが流れるんだけど、またカッコ良すぎて。

近年においてはカバネリでとても懐かしく思いました。
羽田健太郎さんの名曲ですね。宇宙戦艦ヤマトで流れる宮川泰さん作曲の「コスモタイガーのテーマ」と双璧だと思います。
この曲も、マクロスの続編で使って欲しいな。
ただ、ドッグファイトシーンに主役やヒロインが歌う曲を差し込むのがフォーマットの作品なので、この曲を使う場がないのは、もったいない。
今でこそ学校は週休二日ですが当時は土曜日も午前授業・午後部活で、本当に日曜日の休みは貴重でした。（日曜も部活や試合で休み無しだった人もいたのかな？）
そんな日曜日の放送だっただけに思い出深い。

Sadly, the magic moments in anime like those are few and far in between. Nowadays, the latest Macross is all about selling all these Idols shit instead of songs to bring people together like Mynmay did (personally I hate her, but not as much as the shitty idols in the latest Delta series).
Yeah. That is why this is the only Macross I recognize.
@@HattaTHEZulZILLA86 At least Mynmay was a side character at best, it's as if when the og series ended they thought she was the breakout character. When in reality they could have either choose between Rick: The boy who became a man and his older brothers sucessor, proved that it's okay to hook up with the mature older woman over the idol, and creates his own legacy. Or. Max: The fighter pilot so unremittingly badass, that the best pilot the Zentradi had to offer tries to kill him on two separate occasions and he decides "I wanna spend the rest of my life with this woman" and it actually work out. Or heck even Lisa and Claudia who basically ran the bridge like a machine. But no, we chose the singer........🙃
