Bit of a nerd note for those who don't know, but the Rakhshi Tahu's fighting is the Shapeshifting type with its blue body and gold limbs, hence why it was originally a Bohrok~ Very nice attention to lore detail!
Here I was wondering why they looked like bohroks but then turned into a kind of Rakhshi I've never seen, the design was too specific not to be on purpose, now I know why!
HOT DAMN THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE this is EXACTLY the style i'd want from a Bionicle feature film. i cannot believe i never heard of this while you were working on it. i'm in awe. you have created a thing of genuine beauty.
This isn’t even just cool for a Bionicle thing, this is just REALLY impressive animation holy crap Edit: 8 months later and this is still a genuinely incredible piece of animation and filmmaking. For one creator to have done all the posing, lighting, music, sound effects, and more is unbelievable. You should be incredibly proud.
I cannot stress enough that this is genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Every frame of this thing is downright stunning and I can't believe it actually exists.
I think what I love the most about this is how much it feels like the scenarios I or any of us would make up as kids. The way they move so epically, the way its clear this short plays with ideas from the lore, but in its own unique way.
I just watched it at half speed to catch all the details and OMG, you have a GIFT for fight choreography. This is absolutely brilliant, I love the details, and I love the little bits of mystery, like why were there Matoran hands coming out of the hole Tahu put the the Krana in? This is why I say Bionicle has a bright future with its fans, this is some of the most beautiful combat animation I've ever seen, like even better than many studios
Hey, you should take some credit too. I've been bingeing your backlog of video essays the last few days (I keep having to take breaks just to absorb and fully comprehend the poignant points you keep making) and people like you, who are starting to take a deeper and more mature look into the lore and its implications, are also doing a fantastic job of carrying Bionicle and keeping it relevant.
Just imagine that Bionicle began in 2021 and not in 2001 (with the sets and lore remaining the same), how many amazing things we would have that the technology of the time did not allow, like this marvelous kind of animation
I think my favorite part of this that I haven't seen anyone else comment on is the blink-and-you'll miss it uses of the Mask of Shielding to block the Rahkshi's initial strike and the beam attack. This was made with so much passion!
Any person who can use the Internet will confirm that Bionicle is still alive, since although it is not the largest, it is one of the most active communities. To this day, fanonizations of buildings are carried out, which are then entered into the lore, and artists and MOC creators made more quality art per day than almost any other even the most popular community for several years now. Let the rest chase after hype and actuality, popularity comes and goes, but we will probably enjoy something beautiful and eternal.
Absolutely phenomenal work! It's like I always imagined a fight scene between bionicles would be as a kid, instead I was kinda disappointed with how they just fire stuff from their weapons in the games instead of "sword" fighting ;)
Not gonna lie, this is what I thought the Bionicle movies were going to be like when they were first announced. I still wish they were. Amazing work! I'd love more content like this, in the old commercials style!
“New from Bionicle... Evil forces gather below the surface to lay siege to the island of Mata Nui....but the Toa Nuva stand ready to protect the Matoran and their home. Whoever the enemy, whatever the odds.... No matter what the future may bring, some things never change.... Build the ultimate battle, with Bionicle!”
I cannot believe I missed this when it was uploaded, holy smokes. This is one of the best fan animations I’ve ever seen. The directing is great, it’s so creative, and even when it gets chaotic, it’s still cohesive. You have absolutely raised the bar for Bionicle animations, well done!!!🙏
Lego needs to hire you if they ever reboot bionicle. this is the single best piece of bionicle media ever. its far better than the movies, and the trailers. it perfectly captures the essence of Bionicle in a way Lego only did in the books. i will be watching this video a lot simply because its literally the best mate. i honestly cant believe how wicked this is. i would instantly donate so fast if you ever did a full length movie.
This looks like an original creation for a professional studio! The music, the choreography, the textures, the animation, the love you put in it, everything is flawless. It sure took you some time but the final product is perfect. Good job men, this is why bionicle is such an awesome lego theme, the fans remembers it even after all those years.
I've never really been into Bionicle like, at all, except for a figure that I owned when I was a kid... And that is why I find this animation ASTOUNDING, like, holy frick, that battle animation is just absolutelly perfect, superb choreography and sense of movement; why arent there movies like this????
hello, coming back to this animation cause its amazing! Just want to say, love the coreographed fight scene as they just perfect! Keep up the great work.
Shame on me for finding this only now, this isn't only a big tribute to bionicle, this is also one of the greatest fan animation and best choreographed fight I've ever seen, AMAZING!!!
I never really liked the toa, Bohrock, Rashiki figures since according to me they didn't have much poseability. Today you changed my vision of them and I learned to love them more.
I believe that TeamKanohi released all of their 3D models for the Bionicle Mask of Power game they're working on over on their discord, I haven't looked through the parts myself but they are free to use if I remember right. This is fantastic and makes both the Bohrok and Rahkshi feel way more intimidating
OK, this is awesome! I am always happy to see new Bionicle works, but this was a pleasant surprise. I think one thing that deserves praise is the choreography of Tahu's greatswords. I feel dual swords are hard to choreograph without it looking awkward unless the choreographer knows what they are doing. You did a great job with them, and the transition to the single blade is very well done as well. Even if the motion blurs are a bit of a flaw, they do a good job of making the transitions between the two modes work. It looks great, and I hope to eventually see more.
This is SO cool. I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves. Looks awesome, the music was very well chosen and the attention to detail and lore really put the bar high for the next fan animations to come. Congratulations for making this! I also love that you chose Tahu Nuva and not any other Toa Mata. I love 2001, but we get 2001 fan content ALL the time, it's very refreshing seeing a Toa Nuva in action again. Im so happy about this, you really made my day. Thank you!
agreed. the Nuva were the toa in their prime i believe, they looked sleek and that they could probably take a good beating too. their mask and elemental powers were doubled, their tools were twice as awesome and they certainly weren't ugly like how they looked in 08.
I lovehow you used the sword clashing sound effects from Canister Wasteland! It's such a community throw back Amazing job, you've honoured this beloved toy line!
I really like the choregraphy : it looks to that while the Rahkshi is mainly sprinting and bashing his staff/blasting its powers furiously at Tahu, he, on the other hand, mainly focus on parrying the attacks before going on the offensive.
This is INCREDIBLE! Not only is the animation smooth as hell, the action is so well done and exciting too!! Some of the coolest fanmade Bionicle stuff I’ve ever seen!
At first i thought, the Rahkshi was a Fohrok. for those who don´t know: the Makuta tried to make their own Bohrok, which would later be called "Fohrok" as in "Fake Bohrok".
By the Great Spirit, imagine if _this_ was the Mask of Light movie that we got instead? We'd have collectively creamed our pants! This is one of the _best_ Bionicle fan animations I think I've ever seen. I'm not saying that to be hyperbolic either, this is exceptionally great, like Monty Oum (RIP) levels of awesome.
Lego: "It's over, we're done."
Bionicle fans: "We're done when I say we're done."
Were it so easy
@@TMNTChangedit is that easy
You’re done, Lego. We’re just getting started.
When 3d printing became a thing, I felt hope in my heart for the first time

It's like watching all the battles in our head when we were playing as kids.
Noooo bro why you gotta call me out like that xD
YESSSS YOU NAILED IT
100% agree. And as someone who also grew up loving transformers as well, the Bohrok turning into a Rahkshi also brought me back to that era
Bro, so true!
Bro where have you been?
Bit of a nerd note for those who don't know, but the Rakhshi Tahu's fighting is the Shapeshifting type with its blue body and gold limbs, hence why it was originally a Bohrok~
Very nice attention to lore detail!
Awesome i didn't know that! What's the name?
Ah, you just saved me having to look up all the Rahkshi variants to identify it.
Here I was wondering why they looked like bohroks but then turned into a kind of Rakhshi I've never seen, the design was too specific not to be on purpose, now I know why!
That’s cool as fuck
I can’t believe I have been bested in Bionicle lore this day
"If that energy stopped the bohrok, why is that one still coming towards us?"
"Because that isn't a bohrok."
"Just one Bohrok left, maybe we could test the Boxor-?"
"Not this one... everyone stay down."
"its just a bohrok we can-"
"No. Thats not a bohrok"
what energy ?
@@Pordrack the glowy things that hit the bohrok
lore accurate Bionicle fight in our mind as a child
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen in my fucking life
Fun Fact: The Matoran writing on the shrine (0:06) reads "Banished in perpetuum" i.e. banished forever. Good touch!
Thanks, I could not read that last word lol
Why is this fight scene better than all the lightsaber duels in the Disney Star Wars Trilogy?
HOT DAMN THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE
this is EXACTLY the style i'd want from a Bionicle feature film. i cannot believe i never heard of this while you were working on it. i'm in awe. you have created a thing of genuine beauty.
Precisely. This is how I wanted the movies to be.
This isn’t even just cool for a Bionicle thing, this is just REALLY impressive animation holy crap

... unbelievable. So this is how Hydraxon trained the Toa to fight like.
I cannot stress enough that this is genuinely one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Every frame of this thing is downright stunning and I can't believe it actually exists.
Every frame could be a wall poster
This is what we a thought the movies were going to be like before we saw them.
All joking aside, this is incredible!
0:25 I will never be able to unsee Tahu as the one who is just vibing to his music only to lock in once he notices he is being dsturbed.
Wow, this is the type of action I would of dreamed to see in any of the old Bionicle media like the films.

@@Dargonhumanprobably didn't help that half of the Toa where background characters.

Ooh, I noticed that quick use of Hau shielding mid-combat! This is so well-done!
Oh Mata Nui, yes! That was a sick little detail that I had to go back and rewatch at half speed to make sure I was seeing it correctly.
The hau was also used at 0:58
finally , the toa using his weapons as actual cool weapons instead of only shooting beams.
the writing on the stone at the beginning says "banished in perpetuum"
I think what I love the most about this is how much it feels like the scenarios I or any of us would make up as kids. The way they move so epically, the way its clear this short plays with ideas from the lore, but in its own unique way.
Seeing toa actually hit things with their weapons is so good. Also the short few frames of tahu using the hau to block the initial attack aaah.
That was amazing!
I'd love to see Tahu's fight with Zaktan in this style 😌
I just watched it at half speed to catch all the details and OMG, you have a GIFT for fight choreography. Yes! Bionicle always was about that mystery aspect
Its the matoran sex dungeon and that krana is going to have a rough time
Oh man! I was wondering why the one Bohrok had the wrong color scheme. That twist I didn't see coming! This animation is pure awesomeness!
I thought It was a fohrok which doesnt make that much sense
The Bohrok turning into Rahkshi made me have to check BIOsector; the blue/gold Rahkshi of shapeshifting, deep cut.
Bionicle will be not forgotten
Just imagine that Bionicle began in 2021 and not in 2001 (with the sets and lore remaining the same), how many amazing things we would have that the technology of the time did not allow, like this marvelous kind of animation
I would pay exorbitant amounts of money to have a fan made bionicle series covering all of g1.
I've sworn a blood oath to like every Bionicle fan animated project out there, so here I am.
I think my favorite part of this that I haven't seen anyone else comment on is the blink-and-you'll miss it uses of the Mask of Shielding to block the Rahkshi's initial strike and the beam attack. This was made with so much passion!

A Bonkle movie in this format ... now this I could go for.
This is how i pictured a bionicle movie looking like
I genuinely believe i could watch this on repeat for hours on end
bro i watched it ten times today. it doesnt ever get old.
I have to convince myself not to watch it like so.... I need more of this, tons more!
With how high quality this was, I was expecting an "each set sold separately" bit at the end. 🎉❤
Many will say that Bionicle is long since dead but if you ask me it is still very much alive and this vid speaks for itself why it's still alive.

Amazing work! This made my day.
The first 30 seconds is every sonic trailer
This is UNREASONABLY cool.
I have never in my life wished so much that TH-cam would allow me to bestow double likes.
If the Glatorian arc kept going before Lego nipped it in the bud, this would have been an excellent song choice for a commercial.
I'm not exaggerating when I say I think this is one of the most criminally underrated TH-cam videos I've ever seen.
