i know this is a comedy joke joke podcast but just in case: everything they said about fish is wrong. fish love big tanks. small tanks are like prisons. keeping betas in those tiny little bowls is torture
Well they do disclaim at the beginning you should never follow their advice and they're not experts on anything lol, definitely not the people you want to go to for pet care advice
So hey someone probably already said this but - keeping multiple fish in a small tank is irresponsible, bordering on cruel! A good rule of thumb is that for every inch of fish you have, allow for one gallon of water. So if you've got ten fish inches, get a ten gallon tank. More never hurts, either, in case you have fertile pairs. Also, betas need larger habitats than the shitty bowls given to them, though iirc they should be shallower than your average tank. I know it's all jokes around here, but like, don't kill your fish through ignorance.
44:55 Oddly enough Netflix's The Dragon Prince made that exact joke but with coffee, one of the characters legit drinks her "Brown Morning Potion" she invented.
I think the brothers can't be blamed for fish abuse. I didn't once feel compelled to recreate their "advice". I don't keep fish (don't care for my home to smell like the pier) but if i was getting into it, i wouldn't rely on the mcelroys for the pro tips.
Yeah the reason they say not to follow their advice at the beginning of the episodes is because they say goofs like that and some people may take it seriously. Very little of the advice they give is real advice that one should follow
Love these good brothers and love this show, but that fish segment was... unfortunate. Beyond the stress it causes them, keeping fish in too small of a tank causes too much ammonia to build up from their waste, which basically burns them from the inside out, like cleaning products with ammonia in them. I know the brothers are cool guys and didn't mean ill, but to those who listened to this episode, please don't take that advice with your fish! (The disclaimer at the beginning is quite true, lol...)
This is off topic BUT there was an episode not long ago where justin was reading a question and said "my wife" & travis did the borat thing & then all 3 just sat in silence for several seconds. Does anyone remember which ep it was? It's driving me Bonkers
Please for the love of christ get a big enough tank for your fish, there is no more tortured existence than that of a fish that doesn't have a proper tank and I've never been more thankful for the "please don't take our advice" disclaimer at the start of the episode.
"no more tortured existence than that of a fish that doesn't have a proper tank" you sure about that bud? or, or was that a joke, like the entire podcast was?????
I paused this podcast after I took a shower, had a snack and watch a new crimes of grindlwald review, finish it and come back to the podcast and BLAMMO literally starts talking about crimes of grindlewald.
Hey that was just the Rugrats theme song for the first few moments of the extra intro song. I hope you guys paid your royalties before Mr. Nickelodeon busts down your door.
No, if you asked a genie "i dont want to GO TO THE BATHROOM till the plane lands" youre just gonna piss yourself in your seat closely surrounded by strangers. Never trust genies
That person that dumped their pets onto someone else without being clear about their intention is despicable but what the hell would make you accept the other fish and the tank they belong in and not tell this person to get the fuck out of your home for trying to Grift you
the amount of incorrect fish facts in this episode was low-key stressing me out. Please learn as much as you can about any animal you plan to adopt before adopting it.
God I know barely anything about fish but the reason your fish die so fast is because you're shit at taking care of fish. Dear God they are not just ROOM ORNAMENTS. THEY ARE LIVING THINGS WITH NEEDS??
I don't want to be one of those people but as a pet store employee the fish information is making me so sad, I don't get why everyone is just fine with fish dying but if it were almost any other pet people would flip their lid. #fishrights
Brothers: Fish don’t need big spaces, trust me.
Also brothers: My fish inevitably die in a month, why’s that?
Nitrogen cycle!
Fish are the worst let because you have to build an entire ecosystem. Gerbils can live in the world we already occupy I mean Jesus Christ.

Lmfao me and the whole fish owning community was about to write a 15 page essay on why everything they said was so so wrong
Thank you for this!! I couldn't even focus on the goofs cus I was so hyperfocused on how wrong they were, lol.
Also, bettas CAN be put with other fish as long as the tank is big enough. Bettas get a bad rap
Everything except "the betta IS a weapon" was wrong 😆
Well they do disclaim at the beginning you should never follow their advice and they're not experts on anything lol, definitely not the people you want to go to for pet care advice
Griffins obsession with the Rugrats theme returns

I’m being 100% genuine when I ask this, but would that be vertical inches, or horizontal inches, or like square or cubic inches???
@@flynns5807 the rule of thumb i heard was based on the length of the fish from the tip of its head to the tip of its tail

A potion that lets me hear Maximum Fun shows in my head, whenever I want. Would make the work day go by a lot faster.
First smut music corrupts Radio Disney - WHERE GOOFY LIVES - now Guy's Signature Sauces ooze their slimy tentacles into WHERE MICKEY LIVES.
Did you binge watch all of these in order? In fact I think that was like 437
This episode shed a lot of light on why Justin's fish keep dying prematurely

Nevermind folks I found it, it’s their Valentine’s Day ep
griffin almost sounding like the old baby griffin again
TECHNICALLY, they never said that there is *salad* in the “meal-sized-salad-bowl” so I think it is a bowl filled with just chicken 🤣🤣
That's what I thought too! Guy thought "a regular bowl simply isn't enough for these tendos"
Perfect timing! I was just having that weekly itch for that good good wholesome McElroy Family content.
"Spider-Man’s Magic Potion" sounds like Wade describing Peter's bodily fluids
That's disgusting, but you're not wrong
If only you knew how desperately I wanted you to be wrong about this.
Why has no one animated the finger pounded chicken part yet. That shit was gold.
Never thought I'd hear my home town on Newcastle uck mentioned on mbmbam!
Justin's views about fish not needing big tanks and the death rate of his fish may perhaps be directly related
It literally said this is a joke podcast he isn't serious
@@michaelmell18 that part wasn't part of the joke it was just them being wrong. The give em tiny guns was the joke.

its great when you see the title and go “oh wow its the episode with *that* joke in it!”
Just noticed I'm watching this on the day it came out 2 years later
Good ep guys Travis on his a game
Ya’ll just walked into a whole ass discourse blindly huh?
Fish tank size matters guys.
Bottoms up when I first met you
42:38 griffins pronunciation delights me
How would you get the potion onto the plane though?

To be fair, I don’t think anyone specified how big any of these tanks were, so we can’t really know the details
That fish discussion made me sad.
I wonder, did anyone get one of those hugs?
